The plaintiff used to date the defendant. She claims she gave the defendant a cell phone with the promise he’d pay her back, but the plaintiff alleges he failed to do so, so she’s suing. The defendant insists the phone was a gift. The defendant is countersuing for damaged property because he alleges the plaintiff broke into his home and destroyed the place after they broke up.

@@geenaerikewe even if the judge had ordered the defendant to pay for the phone she could have also awarded the defendant on his counterclaim for the damages the judge straight up said she believed that the plaintiff did those damages and they're most definitely was more than 780 worth of damage to his apartment! so at bare minimum it should have been a wash if not the defendant coming out with more, the judge has said multiple times that she doesn't need to prove that something happened Beyond a reasonable doubt that it just needs to be more likely than not and she said she believed she did it so she just let the plaintiff get away with destroying someone's apartment, she didn't hold her accountable in any way.
