So loved this discussion. I have 3 children who are not active in the church. 2 are return missionaries. They are great, kind people. Their testimony is buried deep. I love that their only in the wilderness. I pray they will come out of the wilderness❤ you guys are so great . Thank you.

1:49 “the righteous need not fear” call back to the angelic statement of “fear not” also suggests forgiveness on the repentant. It is “shocking” when heaven reachers down to earth during our “time to prepare to meet God” the repentant must be told “fear not” in a wicked world, and if “time is cut short” for the righteous sake, then the righteous certainly need not fear. Thank you!

I think I understand the 1260 years! I love the lectures Hyrum Andrus gave. He taught religion at Ricks and BYU and was a truly great scholar. He emphasized that the verse that refers to 1260 years refers to the premortal realm. We were separated from Lucifer then, and this all repeats in mortality, except this time it will be for 1260 days or 3.5 years.

What do you think, Mike and Bryce? Couldn’t this be a possibility since even the few verses after verse 6 continue to refer to premortal life?

I see the 1260 days in verse 14 as things repeating in mortality. Zion will be fully established just prior to that final 3.5 years before the Millennium. There is a gathering and building before this (probably also for 3.5 years), but the Kingdom of God (the man child) is not established till the keys are all handed back to Christ at Adam-ondi-Ahman. Then the wicked begin to die in droves while the two prophets keep the army at bay for those same last 3.5 years. And, during this time the 144,000 will be gathering the Church of the Firstborn from all nations and bringing them to Zion for those 3.5 years. Isn’t this a possibility too?
