The Yankees are the perfect lineup for a guy like Yamamoto to run rough shod through. When he locates, he's almost unhittable. Especially the split finger. He really only made the one mistake to Soto which was a late release and Soto didn't miss it. But other than that, he was lights out. All the damage guys on the Yankees are completely vulnerable to tight curves and split finger off speed pitches.

The pitchers right now they just let Aaron get himself out…they don’t have to throw him a strike…he has become an automatic out…think about it, the opposition they rather walk Soto and pitch to Judge the “MVP”…that is very, very, and very, embarrasing. @abovebeyondkct65892 ай бұрын
@@JobberJimbro come on…who did the Yankees actually beat? The Royals and the Guardians?? You do realize the AL was just shit this year. This new format was lucky enough so that the Yankees could face the two lesser teams in the league because they were able to navigate the Wild Card series with their pitching. But in an actual playoff series, being 5-7 games, their minor league offenses would never stand up. KC and Cleveland are two of the weakest playoff teams we’ve seen in decades. Honestly, just look at them. They both had zero offense. Minimal starting pitching, especially no depth. Cleveland had a good bullpen, but has always struggled against the Yankees. But that’s one minor part to a much larger story. The AL was just absolutely weak this year. Largely due to the new rules with all these wild cards. The Orioles or Astros probably would’ve been better tests, but that wasn’t the case, so it’s really got nothing to do with this. However, just look at the NL…the Phillies, Brewers…both clearly better teams than the Royals and Guardians…yet they both lost before the CS…the Mets and Padres are probably still both more complete teams than the Yankees, and if a series were to be played between the yanks and either, I’d strongly bet either would be favorites. Better pitching, better offense, better defense, betting running, better manager. The NL was stacked this year and the AL was absurdly weak. Hence why we get this pathetic Yankees team in the World Series. Even look at the wins they had in both the ALDS and ALCS…half of them in both series were because the other team imploded and beat themselves!! Cmon man for real! The 2024 Yankees are probably the worst World Series team I’ve ever seen.

Judge will do what he does and he’ll deserve whatever criticism or praise he gets. You’re talking about a historically dominant MVP bat once again who’s essentially hit to a 60 home run pace for three years. He was even better this year than he was in 2022. You can’t have a .458 OBP and do this in the playoffs. It’s not “variance”…..he’s actively and objectively worse in the playoffs. He gets on base nearly half the time and hits 60 bombs yet…..nada. His playoff numbers are borderline impossible unless his underlying performance is inferior to the regular season….which it is. He’s earned the narrative, others teams correctly exploit it. Soto and playoff Stanton make it even more glaring…..another loss to a good team as a consequence of poor offense with Judge doing this will confirm that NOTHING is different. The Yankees have completely dominated the AL Central in the Boone era and before…..that happened to be enough to get them to the WS this time. Eventually you face real competition whether it’s a fellow surging Eastern team like the Sox or Rays, a playoff juggernaut like the Astros, or perhaps the class of the NL in the LAD. The Dodgers have an all world lineup led by three minted mvp killers and a bevy of top notch bullpen arms…..they also have more than credible starters even with the injuries. This isn’t the Royals or Guardians. You jumped multiple levels in class here. If the Yankees get rolled up here, the reality is that nothing has changed. At least you get to say you made the WS.

The Yanks only have to win 4 out of 5.

Aaron Judge is passing up walks to try and do something. In the regular season these are walks. Judge is trying to make something happen. Meanwhile the guy behind him, with Soto, is carrying the team. This is a TEAM game. Next man up. Take the walk. And if we do not win because the bottom of the lineup cannot get the job done? So be it. The Dodgers are better. The bigger problem is the Aaron Boone problem. He is the worst manager in baseball teamed up with the worst GM in the history of baseball. Despite this this team is in the World Series because they spend a lot of money, have a few clutch guys (something they were lacking in the last 10 years). But short of Pete Carrol not handing the ball off to Marshawn Lynch in the Superbowl. The decision making in game 1 by Boone is something the team cannot get over. You can tell me all the cliche things you want. You can dissect each game and go through each problem. But the problem is summed up by the 2023 Yankees and the fans. In 2023 we called for Cashman and Boone's head. Why? Because for 10 years we watched obvious decisions that anyone of us can make, that are obviously the right move, be ignored as the Yankees stay on antiquated analytical based moves that produce nothing in the post season. Yes you make the playoffs all the time with the expanded playoffs, but you do not create a winning culture. This is why fans were going craze. We saw Brian Cashman receive WS after WS on a team Gene Michaels built when George Steinbrenner was thrown out of baseball. He created none of the winning. This came to a head last year. And Juan Soto fixes a lot of problems. The one problem he does not fix is after game 1 of the World Series, not only does everyone in the media and the fans question Aaron Boone's decisions. The NYY PLAYERS question Aaron Boone's decisions. HE LITERALLY PITCHED A GUY IN A CLUTCH SITUATION WHO HAS NOT PLAYED IN A MONTH!!! It was there the season was over. And the players lost faith in the manger. They have done this for EVERY year under Boone. Sometimes after the allstar break. Sometimes earlier in the season. And now in the WS. But it's not Boone's fault. When you hire someone who has never managed people EVER! And you think because he gets stats he knows the game. You will create a losing culture because you lose the players who play the game. That is Brian Cashman's fault. Aaron Boone should be in a broadcast booth or a studio talking stats with fans. The game of baseball is played by players on the field. And by the way. We just handed Juan Soto to the Mets. You couldn't pay me to stay with a team who loses faith in there manager. What do you think everyone in the Bullpen is thinking? Did you see Hill last night. You lose with Hill you lose with Hill. You don't lose faith in your guys when it matters. IT IS THE DEFINITION OF WHAT MAKES A TERRIBLE MANAGER!!! Sadly, the WS is probably enought to get him another contract....Soto covers up a lot. Boone and Cahman back....Soto leaves. Its a 10-15 year rebuild.

I’m with Jake. Moving Judge up to second doesn’t make sense. “He’ll see more pitches” does not make sense. He’s been seeing pitches. The problem is he isn’t hitting. If you go Gleyber-Soto-Stanton, it forces LA to pitch to our three best hitters. And Trevino starting is not a good idea. LA will be stealing every chance they get. I also think Dominguez gets a start and if you get a lead, you replace him with Verdugo at the end.

Obviously from the Yanks’ perspective things are bad, but it’s important to remember both games have been close. Some misplays and bad managing cost us game 1. Pitching has largely kept Dodger’s under control; even yesterday Dodgers only had one big inning. Of course the same goes the other way, but if Schmidt and Gil perform at their best, we can take at least two at home. Nestor is a backup. We need to make a few changes. Wells needs to bat last. He also needs to change his swing to stop hitting the top of the ball. He’s been getting hittable fastballs inside but grounds out. He additionally needs to lay off the high fastball. However, he, Volpe, and Verdugo need to bunt if there’s a man on first and no outs. In Wells’ case, even with one out, because a double play is likely. Freeman has a bad ankle at first so bunting should be done to the right side. Furthermore, if Volpe or Jazz is on first with Wells or Verdugo up and one out or less, they should steal to avoid the double play and hopefully get to third on the ground ball to the right side that will almost certainly happen. As for Judge, he needs to expect the slider. Early in the count he should sit on it and pounce if it’s up. He needs to make contact earlier in the count because he keeps striking out. Need him to at least put the ball in play more and hopefully elevate it. If he goes up 2-0, swing at any fastball. If he misses, expect another slider, and only swing if it’s up.

Looking at this series to me the avenue for the Yanks was to win game 1. As I agree with you Jake I didn’t feel good about game 2 for them. Also, I don’t see the Yanks pulling out wins in both Schmidt and Gil’s starts, but I do see a split there. Worst case scenario it needed to be series tired 2-2 after 4 games and then giving the ball back to Cole in game 5. Unfortunately now the slim avenue we have is to get to Walker Buehler early and go at their bullpen the day before a bullpen game that the Dodgers will throw at us in game 4 to exhaust them for these next 3 games and then give the ball back to Cole game 5. It’s not impossible of course but it’s a steeper hill to climb.
