History can mean success and failures, can it not? I never said that Rangers were a successful ‘European’ trophy winning club, but they do have a long tradition of winning and losing in Scottish football with their ‘old enemy’ Celtic...and am sure that they would have been some big and memorable games played there? Looking through the Scotland international past for example I noticed that some games were played at Ibrox and one that I was pleased to see was a Scottish 2-0 win over Hitler’s Germany in 1936...fantastic! I feel ashamed for the England boys who were persuaded to do the ‘Hitler salute’ before they played in Berlin in 1938, however they did stuff the Germans 6-3...I wonder if the nazi leader was at the game? Hope so!

The roar when Rangers use to walk out the tunnel in an Old firm game or a big European game sounded like a jet engine. Remember me and my mate being in the pub and getting in v Parma in 1999 walking up the stairs to the club deck the noise was deafening
@gary24942 жыл бұрын
A mind staying on paisley road west just across from the stadium 🏟 and rangers were playing parma and it was on tv 📺 and I watched it with the volume down because I could hear the atmosphere from the house 🏠 it was amazing and me and my wee brother used to stand at the gates on the copland broomlan corner and watch what we could of the games and one oldfirm game I'd took my burds wean over with me and my brother and a guy offered us 2 tickets to get into the game but I couldn't because her son was about 1 year old and the noise would have terrified him, I'm sure the game finished 0 0 so we didn't miss much but at the time we were raging because we had never been offered tickets to get into any games though occasionally somebody standing beside us would get a ticket for free but it was rare so having to turn down 2 tickets for the oldfirm game was like a boot in the baws and happened to be the only time I got asked to watch the wean during a game because me and my wee brother would usually tan a bottle of wine between us and stand with a bottle down the Duke at the gates.

Rangers supporters had asked the Club to buy shares back in Arsenal once the Club was back on it’s feet - I do believe that happened last season and the Club got some! Also if you go by our pre season friendly with Arsenal you will see that link still remains of a mutual respect between supporters! Obv not all as you know a good few support the Chelsea

A long time in the past? ask a certain ex-English footballer working for Sky Sports who was not allowed entry into that pit to comment on their Europa League games because he was a security risk. None of the above would be tolerated in England. And, this is when the real Rangers racists start going on about child abuse. We went downstairs and headed straight to the players tunnel and just when I looked down the tunnel, I felt someone pat me on the back and I heard someone say “Ally, come back so we can get a photo” and right at the edge of the tunnel I got a photo with the man the myth the legend himself. Brilliant. All the best Ally. You are the best. Saw you at the bar in the hotel next to where Bruce Springsteen was playing. You were holding court. My Dad was with me. He stayed at the bar while I went in and watched Bruce. He died shortly after. Always remember you at the bar.

When people say Rangers isn't a big club compared to teams in England, they most possibly have changed their mind watching this

@Andrew Gurney Didn't the great Henrik play in scotland during his peak?? Suppose by your logic he wasted his incedible talent whilst here.

The stadium was built by craftsman. You only have look at the exquisite craftsmanship of the old interior wood panelling. It screams of this is our football club.

Ally looks so very much like his Auntie Christine from Thorliebank especially when he laughs, she laughed all the time, her party piece was splitting an apple in her bare hands, this fascinated me as a young child, her voice was absolutely amazing too!
