I first started following United about 85/86. Seen them playing in late 80s and this was a dark period in United's history. I was truly spoiled to have been born at the right time and witness with my eyes, and feel with my heart and my soul one of history's greatest footballing dynasties. The highs were off the charts at times. It's long gone now. We are a banter club and have zero right to think we are a great side. Big club yes, average football team. We had false dawns and then let down again. I like Ruben and his ideas but can't get over excited anymore. I have reserved myself to the fact that United will never be a great team again, no matter how much we think we can fix by throwing money until the ownership arm is at peace.

The issue is hes never been great ,I blame the media and pundits for hyping him up to a level he never even held himself too. He showed "promise" when he broke into the first team but after a massive exodus of players leaving he was thrown in to wearing the crown of a united star which he never was and I believe never wanted. Hes had to try and live up to this level created by expectations of history of previous forwards for the club and the truth is he was never the person to do it. He should of been used as a bit part player around already established forwards and eased into the spotlight and expectations. Truth is the club failed him and put to much on him and miss judged his mentality to carry it. I've been saying for years get rid for both the club and him, because he's being destroyed its best for both to part ways . Hes given up and stopped wanting to be the star of the team
