With a grain of salt, I started on my Suzi DR200 back in 2007. I was 40 when I started; I definitely took the conservative route and am still here living to tell about it. 😝

I just got my first motorcycle and am in the process of getting it on the road here in Lancaster, PA. I’m new to motorcycles, so please keep the content coming, and any helpful tips would be appreciated! Thanks Talon! Keep it up!

I’m a big fan I’ve been watching you for a while now you got me wanting to start riding motorcycles I’m probably going to buy a Honda grom but as far as a daily driver you should get a Nissan Z maybe a older 1 I’m sure you can find 1 for a reasonable price

I have a small fleet in my garage. 2002 DRZ400S that I've had since 2006, 2019 450 EXC-F that I bought new, Yamaha T7 (Tenere 700) that I bought new a 6 weeks ago. Another factor is "what type of riding does a person intend to do"... but that's hard to figure out if a person has never ridden before.

Been riding since 1979, have ridden nearly every make and type of moto, have probably 1/2 mil miles under my belt- best advice for a new rider buying a first bike is to buy used, buy inexpensive, buy relatively small displacement. You’ll almost certainly drop your first bike, so don’t get hungup on looks and don’t buy something with fairings or something you’ll be heartbroken over when you dump it on its side. You may also have a bad experience and decide riding isn’t for you. Pop your cherry on and get your learning done on an inexpensive disposable moto, and then spend the dough on something nicer. As for sportbikes, yep they are awesome and great bang for the buck and that can be very hard to resist, but they absolutely suck at everything except going super fast. They’re a vanity purchase unless you plan on track days- or if you can afford several motos, sure add a sportbike to your stable. They’re a terrible choice for daily driver or if you plan to own just one motorcycle.

Great video you hit a lot of things I’ve been riding since I was three and I’m 54 this year between 5 different Dirtbike‘s and 4 different street bikes so I thought you hit a lot of great points. only one thing I would add if you’re looking at a Harley Davison which I’ve got a softail go to a Harley dealership sit on a lot of different Harley bikes they also offer a class to help you get your license highly recommend it also on Dirtbike so I have a 2022 KTM 250 XCW-tpi I absolutely love it, my uncle has the 2021 KTM 300 lotta guys will jump out there and get a 450 and they realize it’s too much of a bike for them I love how you hit on everything great video buddy ok 👌🏼🔥🤠🔥Camping Russ out

The best advice I could give is to take the motorcycle classes. There you will learn how to ride in most situations. Also buy a used bike as your first ride. Because just about everyone drops their bike once.

Another good first bike might be the XT250 from Yamaha. It's similar to a trials bike, low center of gravity (nimble), cheap, fun.

Would you be willing to do a video specifically on gas, mileage, and far commuting? I drive 80 miles x3 a week for work and I’m specifically looking into this bike to see if it’s actually worth it to save on gas. Please and thanks

They will probably be difficult to find on the used market but just look for typical wear and tear points. I’d prefer something relatively unmodified.
