The best part about penny boards is that they won't get soggy when soaked in water. I restored the parts from my cousin's broken nickel board to use on mine

This video is the perfect exaple of what you should do when restore a skate, the only thing is to take off the shield of the bearings to a better clean

i think a "Penny brand" is a worthy investment when it comes to cruiser boards, even tho its expensive i got a knock off one 3yrs ago , its a good board and i got it cheap, but after cleaning it, the pivot cup came off into pieces, this penny you got has amazing components still holding up even after 8yrs

I bought a used $20 Penny Nickel for my son, I weigh too much for anything other than a longboard. Anyways, the Nickel had been slightly scavenged for parts. It was missing two bearings and the pivot cups had dryrotted and fell apart. Conveniently, two of the 8 bearings I had just pulled off my longboard had life left in them, so instead of burning a new pack of bearings I used those. I ordered some pivot cups but got impatient and printed replacements out of TPU. Previous owner said the board was barely ridden and I believe him. It's back to good now, although admittedly a set of Reds or better would wake it up some more. I'll install some down the road. I know this is an old video, the only suggestions I'd make would be to try Evaporust for rusty hardware and don't forget the pivot cups. One of yours looked kinda beat. I'm debating replacing all the hardware on our boards with stainless, which would stand up better to moisture than regular steel.

Will diesel fuel remove paint from the screws. My screws are black with some rust build up
@truefoxtrot28843 жыл бұрын
most skate bolts/crews are powder-coated (they are a matte black color), diesel will not damage this, but if you want to, you can buy something called bluing liquid, get rid of the powder coating (with wire brush, steel wool, etc) and darken the screws with the bluing liquid, the look pretty good and the finish is pretty durable.

Am I the only one who gets bothered when anyone calls penny boards and long boards "Skateboards". I think it comes from people claiming that they "skateboard" when they actually just cruise on long and penny boards.
@kayodegiwa6864 жыл бұрын
It depends tho because some people can actually do more than cruise on their boards
