The Pix has more thoughtful programming and engaging activities to do with the Tama, where as the Smart wins the design category imo, I wish the buttons on the Smart functioned though, I don't like the touch screen interface, it's too small and the gestures have to be done in a stupidly specific way to get them to work right. A Tamagotchi with the body and recharging of the Smart, the programming of the Pix and normal buttons instead of capacitive buttons or a touch screen would be a dream!

Overall I like the Smart, but I can't help to feel it's relatively lackluster and basic. The Pix on the other hand surprised me positively, but I really don't like that it forces you to let your grown up characters go after a couple of days. And don't get me started on the colour recognition issues of the camera. :D

If we're talking about the Pix, you can definitely keep the adults for longer than two days. All you have to do is have the friendship setting at max (Best Pals), and say no when they ask you to make a photo album before they leave. Source: i've got a weeptchi that's like, 100 days old at this point lol

I own both, I've had the Smart for longer because I wanted the green Pix and couldn't find it, and I do enjoy the Pix more (which I wasn't expecting). It is true, though, that if you want an easy to take care of tama the Smart is way easier and low maintenance. But while I take my On and Smart to their parents/nanny through the day, I keep the Pix active all the time because I actually enjoy the games :P

How do you leave the Smart with nanny? I've never found the option. Although I've also found that the Smart can be left alone for a while and be fine. I leave it in my bag at work a lot

@@nayuki-rn it’s on the menu where you also heal them, the second option on it. If I remember right they can be there until 5pm or so. But it’s true they can be left alone a long time tbh. I am now only running the smart and I’ve forgotten some times and it’s still ok when I remember hahaha

Yeah fair comment it’s a matter of perspective I guess some people like more features will prob prefer Pix while others like myself think less is more with a classic streamlined tamagotchi style and will prefer the smart.

I'm planning to buy the Blue one. Though I would choose Pix as well. Given that I can keep my Tama Forever as long as I take good care of it.❤❤ It just sold me.

If you hold the b button on the pix (the middle button) when not in the menu, the tama will come up to the screen like on the smart and you can brush your finger back and forth on the touch buttons and pet your Tama. The person in the video does not show this and acts like it's an exclusive thing on the smart. Then You can have them move away from the screen by holding the c button. Just FYI.

Sorry I meant that you can't do it on every Tama on the pix like you can on the smart. On the pix it's only with adult Tamas.

I adored my Pix, as the first Tama I had (aside from an emulator gen1 on my phone and My Tamagotchi Forever) since the 90s, yet as soon as I got my Smart, I was like, "Pix who???"

Hi! Fr? Im planning to buy my daughter her first tama. Im thinking the smart since she can basically wear and use it as a watch. But the long pressing of buttons makes me want to buy the pix one. I’m so torn

@@MaryYu0828 Pix has button issues, since it's a touch screen instead of actual buttons. Loooots of people have complained about the buttons... not sure if that's been fixed. I absolutely love my Smart. It feels like it has more content, too, especially with the Smacards. The buttons are a breeze once you memorize the menu. Luckily, there are translated guides so you can figure them out the first go around.

I prefer the smart honestly it’s closer to a traditional tamagotchi and has usb charging plus you can add to it if wanted.

You can actually pet your pix if you hold down middle button in room! I accidentally do it all the time but I’m glad for the video cuz I have pic but want a smart. I think pics is way overwhelming in comparison to an on but I don’t think anything will ever compare and still regret only buying one when they came out

I've never had a tamagotchi before and have been researching on which one to start for at least 3 days now! The video is such a great help! yet I'm still so torn😭😭. You and the comments are saying pix so I'm very much inclined on the that, but... the sma card characters are just far, far better imo... I've been wanting to buy a smart + gourmet card because I fell MASSIVELY in love with Koronetchi ! but the touch screen ?? WHO thought about that ??? I can learn japanese, it's ok, but the touch feature?? the classic buttons are so charming and far more convenient...

I agree soooo much with the feeding!! It’s My biggest pet peeve on the smart😒 and then you run out of food and have to buy each dish individually and overall it’s such an annoying feature especially if you’re in a hurry

Have you had in trouble with the smart not charging? I had one that worked for a bit then it stopped charging. I’m nervous to get a new one if there is issues with the batteries or maybe my was defective.

The Smart actually communicates by high frequency noises! The literally talk to each other. It's quite unique, but the sound gets on my partner's nerves, they're sensitive to sound

Wow I'm glad I watched this before buying a pix! I was thinking I'd go with pink or purple for cuteness, but the whole reason I didn't get one sooner was hearing about the button glitch. 👀 Looking for forwad to the party but I'm definitely getting a blue later on!

The Pix Party is much better about the buttons. It's got completely different innards (as do the green and blue standard Pix) and the new Party feature is fun. I'd say get a Pix Party if you can! I'm still learning the ping-pong and teacup games as they use a swiping motion but when it works, it works well :)

@@jbingbong it's definitely very enjoyable and I'm glad I got it! Once you get the hang of it, I think the teacup game is the best way to grind coins 👀 I still struggle with ping-pong but it looks so cute! 😂

i got a pink tamagotchi pix for Christmas, the battery is terrible. i have to replace them once every two days. i tried using more expensive batteries but it was exactly the same. :(

Yeah the pink/purple wave 1s. Have that issue. The wave 2 (blue or green) are wayyy better.

I would choose the Pix over Smart. Since the Pix feels more engaging? Also you can also pet your Pix Pet. That feature is not solely with Smart. In the long run as well since the Smart uses rechargable battery it will be horrible in the long run.

Yeah the Pix you can pat your Tama, but only when it's an adult.

You can also pet the tamagotchi on the tamagotchi pix by pressing b. For me, it didn't work till my tama became an adult idk for yours since yours is wave 2

Yep, that's correct! But you can't on every stage like on the Smart.

I just got my Smart today, and I'm so disappointed. The controls and menus are so lackluster and frustrating. I spend 80% of my time literally trying to navigate through the menus. I have small hands and keep my nails tidy. There's no reason why it should take this much effort to scroll to the next screen. I think I'm going to need to return it, I definitely won't look forward to playing if it's already feeling like a chore in the first hour, and I'm bummed about it. Maybe I'll try a Pix. My Meets went missing last year, and that was the perfect version for me.

Which version did you get my original pink coral smart was difficult to work with, but I ended up getting a niziu addition smart and the touchscreen is super responsive

I must have bad luck because both my wave 2, the blue one and the green one have button issues. Moreso with the blue one. So much so that chucking it to the wall doesn't seem such a bad idea. I am only 1 minute into this vlog. I have watched before but it seeems to have been a while.

Hi! You press and hold down the reset button (the one you stick a hair pin or something similar in), press and hold the front button, stop pressing the reset button but keep holding the front button until a tamagotchi shows up in the corner waving at you. Stop pressing the button and let the screen turn black. It is now off. Hope this helps

The biggest downside for me so far with the smart isn’t the japanese since the buttons aren’t too hard to memorize. Its the fact that you can’t have multiple cards at the same time. Instead you have to change and rotate them. Not to mention they are PRICEY 🫠😱😱😱
