Anyone notice how there’s 12 songs on the album while the album talks about living out a year, meaning 12 songs could be 12 months. And this song (7th track) says that it’s nearly august, as in this being the month of July.

I feel like he was so nervous and unsure about this album, but he shouldn't have been. It's really amazing, another timeless and completely unique sounding record, I can't express how happy I am to hear this. Currents was/is such an incredible album (as are the others), and I can't imagine the pressure of trying to make music again after making that masterpiece. This sounds great Kevin, thank you for giving us another 10/10. You're one of a kind, and amazing, I can't wait to see you in concert again.

I’ve listened to this song so many times, but i just listened to it right now and i couldn’t stop crying. Man this year especially i’ve been so lost and feel so out of place, i loss grip of what my dreams are and feel like i’m not on track to be successful in anything. I really feel like this song can relate to this year, it reminded me that i’m still on track and everything will be okay and to keep going. I am still on track. When I listen to tame i feel like his music relates to my mind on a deep level, no other artist makes me feel this at peace with life than tame impala. I don’t know how to put it into words but i’m really grateful Kevin Parker exists and provides music that makes me feel want to live, this year especially he has helped me through so much.

This song reminds me of my dad. He was an alcoholic for his whole life until the last 2 years. He was hospitalized and he decided from then on he was gonna be clean for his kids. For 2 years we struggled with money as he was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and slowly lost his strength and ability to walk. Never again did he drink. Eventually he was hospitalized for the flu and the damage he had done to his liver from drinking ended up causing him to pass away. I miss him very much but this song makes me feel closer to him. Thank you Kevin. RIP Shawn Burnett 1976-2015

Completely sobbed today on my way home from work listening to this song. I’m about to be 25 still working on my degree. I take breaks here and there for the needs of my family. Placing myself last to make sure my son’s wellbeing is priority while also helping my husband advance his career. We move all the time which In then means moving institutions to make sure my degree is valid in whatever state we are in at that time. This song spoke to me as I drove home from work. Going to college while working part-time and being a full time mom and wife is HARD. Glad I have Kevin to speak to my soul and remind me I’m still on track and life is life. It will hinder my progress but I’ll get there eventually. Getting zooted on the weekends when I’m off and my kid is in bed also helps tremendously. I hope everyone else in these comments finds comfort and reassurance in this song like I did.

First of all, Kevin has always wrote songs that have spoke to my soul, but this one is one that I relate to on such a deep level. I am a 23 (almost 24) year old mom of a 3 yo daughter, I have a husband, and I am in school working on my degree. I do not move much anymore, but I did a bunch when I was younger. Reading your comment really hit me hard. Honestly, I cried so hard knowing there is someone out there that can relate so much to me. Lastly, let's please get zooted together, listen to tame impala while the kids sleep lol!

Maybe this song is July because is the 7th of this album and it says "I know it's nearly august". Maybe the whole album is a whole year... Talking with somebody we realized that's make a lot of sense because the second (february is the 2nd month) song (Instant Destiny) makes a reference to Sophie Lawrence who married Kevin on that month and. New to this artist. Friends and I are listening through the album now. This is stupidly personal, but having a song that speaks to scraping by means a lot. It's demeaning having to make excuses when goals always seem to escape you. It's suitable then that the chorus feigns optimism, where anyone who's run through similar speeches recognizes how unhealthy they are for your long-term success. Thanks for the comfort knowing that these situations are immortalized in lyrics.

Awesome transition into the drums/bass at 1:43. Almost sneaks up when you're not expecting it.

It's 1:30 am, in 7 days my first and only college semester will be over and I'll be on my way to pursue what I love. And hopefully be on track. This song makes the shot in the dark a little brighter and that leap of faith a little more hopeful.

I'd like to say I'm on track. I'm on my way towards being a firefighter, with a child on the way. I've also been training hard at my MMA gym, which is my passion. We'll see where things take me

I think we are supposed to feel these ethereal feelings around us in normal life. Maybe, these tunes can bring us to a better balance? Sounds right to me....but keep listening, You know it sounds better the next time around.

Worked for me. After listening half dozen times during these last 6 hours. I must admit THIS and "Tomorrow's Dust" are top songs of this album. Singles are whole another story. "Strictly speaking, I'm still on track (crack)". (:

Deep thoughts here man. Why not just decide to feel these things in your own life from this point on? I think I'll try it

Woah that’s deep. I’m gonna be an individual! I’m so tired of being a collective group of people and existing in a collective group of people. I just wanna be different because that’s what this post has inspired me to do. Could you give me some advice on how I can actually be an individual please?

Lately, I have been feeling so lost and questioning everything in my life. I have no idea what the future hold or what I want to do with my life but I'm just gonna keep moving on and hope for the best because not knowing whats coming its part of the beauty of life and you gotta enjoy it.

Oh my gosh! I’m so freaking stoked!!! I was honestly feeling down because of a relationship that recently ended (so close to valentine’s too) but seeing this reminded me that the slow rush also comes out on Valentine’s Day. My mood has improved by like 110%!

I had a minor setback but it was a shitty feeling, a feeling I dont wish upon anyone. Listening to this made me cry because I was inna dark place & now im doing a lot better. This is the type of tune you hear when you've finally reached the light at the end of the tunnel. "But strictly speaking, im still on track" ✨

Cassie Marie I’ve been in your shoes. I’ve been in a very very very dark place. Music has helped me tremendously get back on track with my life. I’ve never planned to live this long. My life isn’t perfect but I feel way better than I was a year ago. Times heals.

Havent been 'on track' for 4 years thanks to 9 mos of chemo completely knocking my entire life so far Off that im Still trying to find the dam track it knocked me off of so i can get back on!! Lost my apartment, my 12 yr relationship, and my son moved out all during that time, so by the end of the chemo i didnt care if i made it thru or not. Felt i had nothing else to wake up for every day. The one and only thing that remains a constant, never ending source of release, joy, comfort, angst, love, and longing is my first and true love of my life... Music!! Its always there, never leaves, and truly has the power to make me feel Alive, or move me to tears in wonderful ways. If i have nothing else in this life to open my eyes for every morning, i know i have music, and Tame Impala just got added to my vast, and personal favs🥰 Thanks you for all the wonderful, beautiful, moving, and super groovy music! My ears are thanking you big-time!! ♥️🔊♥️🔊♥️🔊♥️🔊♥️🔊

This song.... No, this album hit close to home especially "It might be time" Got me fucking tearing up how much shit I put myself through in 10 years.. I'm still on track and still holding on because I lost my way some years back and now, I found myself again.

I can't really express how much this song has been such a godsend. Hearing Kevin's vulnerability and insecurity and self-assurance, amplified by a grand, epic wall of stadium-filling sound so many times gave me the strength and will to keep my head up and keep moving forward. We may all be feeling off these days, but strictly speaking, we're still on track...

My mom passed away exactly one week ago today. She had been diagnosed with cancer back in August but the cancer didn’t end up taking her… Ever since the very first day she was diagnosed I felt my life completely flip upside down and derail - I knew I was more off track than I had ever been in my life right then from that very moment. Now, after her abrupt passing, in a weird way, I’ve quickly accepted and know that the many challenges and troubles that will fall in my lap will help get me on track with my life. Even after experiencing a tragic loss like this I know that I’m “STILL ON TRACK, MOTHERFUCKER!” I also coincidentally got ‘ON TRACK’ tattooed on me last month as well. It will always help serve as a reminder.
