Well done, Tamiya. Well done! The Hornet was my first ever serious RC car and this is a proper update. I love how you kept the classic look but did an outstanding job updating the suspension. Cars like this will get me back into the hobby!
I just picked uo the candy green Grasshopper at Suoer Rajikon on a work trip plus a ton of hop ups for multiple cars and buggies. I wish this was out when I was there I will now have to wait to its available where I live as it needs to be added to the collection.
I guess we wait for pricing on this? They missed the boat on this being what everyone was waiting for imo. I have a grasshopper that I've converted using 3D printed parts. I don't see society spending a lot for something we already have had for a few years now. The front design is straight out of the free website imo.
I would have felt better about this update if the rear suspension were trailing arms, not unlike the Falcon. It would preserve the diversity of design Tamiya was/is known for. The Trailing arms would not change but be an enhancement over the OG Hornet's SLA. I mean, how many Tamiya Buggies have double wish bone Rear suspensions already?

Agreed, independent trailing arms with mid motor would have been my choice.

I'm wondering if the gearbox can be reversed for mid motor and BBX trailing arms adapted. :)

@@CraigOverend Does not look like it. Not without significant modification. Frankly, I would LOVE if someone reissued the old MRC buggies. The Pro-110, Pro-110 Stage two and the Pro-410 Shotgun. Also, from what I gathered, the Pro-110 and Pro-110 stage 2 could have their transmissions reversed from rear to rear mid motor placement. No mods. Just a screwdriver.

@@DocWolph It looks like a DT-03 gearbox is used which has a symmetric bolt pattern like the Pro-110, so it could be reversed with some grinding for the offset bulge. Might require a lot of grinding and custom fabrication. :)

Do you remember: The rear suspension of the Falcon has short travel, but the dogbones fall out very often. That is very bad design. Its worse than the Striker suspension.

Wish they did something about the battery door.

They put a little tab and a body clip. See 0:40 Its better than nothing!
Ha oui comme ça il n'a plus rien à voir avec une Nikko Thunder Bolt F10 ou une Traxxas The Cat :) / Oh yes, like that it has nothing more to do with a Nikko Thunder Bolt F10 or a Traxxas The Cat :)
