Hi glenn, great stuff again! If you would ride it, i would opt for (carbon reinforced) plastic arms but keep the alloy cover. If you hit something with the front wheels now, you risk bending Your cover, arms AND c-hub. In addition to that, alloy is heavier so it will create more momentum and force on a crash. I would add something like green slime between to prevent dirt coming in the gearbox. (Probably preaching to the quire since you know that and will use it for display) For the washers you could use one of the washer sets from the trf on-road series cars that serve exactly that purpose.
@TAMIYALegends5 жыл бұрын

For shimming out any suspension Traxxas grey Teflon shim sets are great. They have a couple of sizes. But I'll share a super tip. With a paper punch tool, punch out all the shims you want from plastic packaging scraps. Lexan body scraps are nice. Thick or thin. Then you Dremmel out the hole with any bit you want. Or just drill a hundred holes along the edge, and paper punch them out. For free!! 👊😋👍

To me the function would need to be considerably better than the stock items to justify the cost. I'm almost sure the overall car weighs more than stock and and ally can get grubby looking with use. But she will look fantastic in your cabinets. In my opinion a hop up part should fit straight out of the box.

I don't think the slop is something that will hurt in real world driving. I did a lot of aluminum parts on a first gen Traxxas slash. And to tight of tolerances was a much bigger issue. Dirt would bind it up bad.

These are really poor quality parts. The whole point of metal parts is to increase rigidity. That is thrown out the window when you've got that much play in the frame. Definitely a case of all show and no go. Don't waste your money on these particular alloy parts, they're rubbish.

This is terrible, no offence, the slop in those rear hub carriers is basically made the car unusable, this pieces break at the drop of a hat, you should be warning everyone away from these products 100% I know it’s a Shelfie but you need to make that warning for other buyers, these parts are pathetic and not worth a dollar and people should know, anyone that’s been in the hobby long enough knows you would only use aluminium hub carriers and a couple other small parts, RC cars need flex, it’s a domino effect when you make a part metal with no flex it will just break the next piece 🤷🏻♂️ not rocket science and these metal arms look disgusting 🤢🤮
