Hiya Carmine! Well, I cut out most of the spinning into the wall bits! TBH it wasn't that bad, I think all the practice with rally cars on dirt and gravel helped a lot. But still a long way to go to master this drifting malarkey - it is very difficult and requires a lot of concentration - difficult when you are having so much fun with friends! Hello Mark. Unlike Derek I actually watched the video before commenting! Anyway that was really fun! I don't know how much footage ended up on the cutting room floor but it looked like you had some good skills there. Really good camera work too. Good to have one with just the audio as it was. I think it would be worth having a drift car if you had a room like that in your house but in the UK that would be unlikely unless you were a billionaire! Glad you managed to have a good drift session although as previously discussed you'll get a lot more use out it when you put rally tyres on. Anyway great vid mate and something a bit different. Hope you have a good weekend planned and you have recovered from the man cold. Not sure what I have planned yet but definitely a bit of Konghead building tomorrow as the weather is forecast to be crap. I couldn't find a hobby knife as cheap as you are saying but I did get one from Amazon for about a fiver. If you have a link to the one you got then let me know. Laters matey 😀

Hello Pete. Haha - Yeah, Derek used that old trick of commenting before watching, but I let him off because he says he watched it twice! You are correct though, most of the filmed running was ditched as it involved spinning out and crashing a lot! :p I did get it right a couple of times, and Alf or Rob actually got it on camera, lucky for me. Boy, it really is tricky! Genuinely enjoyed it though. It was your comment about using the hall that made me even think about doing it there - thanks mate! As you said, at least it's something a bit different from me for a change, it was also you that inspired me to go for the TT02D!!!! Daughter is home for the weekend from Uni, so spending time with the family and including a little beer! I got the knife so long ago that I don't remember where it was from! @@MarkBryanRC ah the joys of editing making it look like we are RC professionals 😁 looking at this and previous vids I'm sure you have more skills than me. Thing is I'm normally RC'ing in an enormous area where accuracy isn't a factor. Glad you enjoyed the TT-02D. I think it's worth it with the extra bits and bobs you get in the kit. I'm thinking that the car showroom at work would be a great RC drifting space if only they would move some of the full sized cars out. I'll check with the MD. I'm sure he'll agree that the space would be much better used for RC! Hey would you believe that I actually turned down an invite to the pub just now as I'm so embroiled in the Konghead build and I have got 10 pints of brewery beer here. I was in the pub yesterday tho and I might be tomorrow so I'm ok 😁 Have great family time and beer this weekend mate 😀

Hehe yes, well I need the editor as I am certainly not a pro! Good point you make, now I see why you go for the faster brushless setups, running a standard Tamiya in a wide open space soon becomes a little boring! Even on my little track, a stock motor can be run flat out for the whole lap. Yeah, the showroom would be perfect for drifting, I hope you get to give it a go! Turning down the pub? I hope you are feeling OK :P Ahhh, 10 pints at home, that will do it! Enjoy the Kong build mate, yeah I am enjoying family and beer, long lie in this morning - perfect! :))

I know this is from 4 years ago but I hope you can reach back out to me, I bought the same model and used all your videos to set mine up and everything is perfect besides the fact that I can't get it to move forward, so the rotation of the tires is great but it just rapidly spins in one spot and I don't know what to do know
@itsme_myselfandCj10 ай бұрын
It spins in one spot on carpet, wood, sidewalks, and asphalt
@MarkBryanRC10 ай бұрын
The car will just spin if you hold full throttle. You need to pull off from standstill with very little throttle and gradually increase speed, when the car slides you need to turn the steering in the opposite direction to prevent spinning. It is very tricky and takes a lot of practice!
@itsme_myselfandCj9 ай бұрын
@MarkBryanRC I tried that at first thinking my power output was too high, but it turns out I had the front gears backward on the drivetrain, and it was rotating inwards causing the car to spin in one spot
@itsme_myselfandCj9 ай бұрын
@MarkBryanRC also I want to say your videos really helped me put the car together besides my one mistake, but you made the instructions quite clear.

Mark, do you think the tt02d is a good platform for a drifting car? How about the steering? Is the steering angle enough on the tamiya or did you have any problems? Your Nissan is a beauty 🤩
@MarkBryanRC4 жыл бұрын
Hi Markus - yeah, well I never drifted before but had a lot of fun with the TT02D - I presume there are much better drifting cars out there, but as I have no other experience I cannot really give advice. I expect the drifting may be easier and more controllable with more steering angle, but the TT02D can be adapted to give more if that is what you need. As I said, I think it is great fun as it comes out of the box! :)

I don't have a video specifically about that but you can see how much the wheels are turning in this video, it is only the standard steering but it's enough to drift. Perhaps the surface you are driving on is too grippy. Try a very smooth surface like wood or concrete. Mine drifts OK on tarmac (asphalt) too.

i purchased the same kit but its not drifting because of the 4wd

The 4wd should not prevent it from drifting. Have you fitted the hard plastic drift tyres?
