10:57 it has nothing to do with you “UNLESS That is part of Gods Will” “And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.” Luke 11:2 KJV “Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish. Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.” Matthew 18:14, 19 KJV As we can see here Gods Will IS NOT that any one should perish As such if you’re praying for someone to go to hell or praying for something to happen to them that won’t lead them to salvation then that’s not part of Gods will “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.” John 14:12-14 KJV “But when 2 or 3 are gathered” You claim confusion here but it seems this is just another misapplied verse. As we see in John person A must first “believe” in Christ, what exactly does belief entail? I would wager it’s not only accepting him as savior but also as Lord, what does that mean to accept him as Lord? I would go as far as to say that everything Christ preached we should take it as an fact, reality. As such when someone “believes” they are aligning their spirit with the Holy Spirit For instance “Is it Gods will that I become a millionaire” if I didn’t know this answer I would look into scripture, And according to scripture I would say no, Reference: Jesus told the rich man to give all his possessions The love of money is the root of all evil etc. Now it could be that my heart is humbled enough that I very well could use this for other people to come to Christ, as such God may allow a caveat to such a prayer, but going off scripture we shouldn’t expect such a prayer to be answered especially when scripture reveals this is against Gods will So when 2 or three are gathered 1. They must both agree aka they accept this to be Gods will 2. “In My Name” meaning this should be done in accordance to what God has dictated to be his will according to what we know of God If we pray for “evil” to be done, this goes against Gods nature If we pray for worldly desires then more than likely they won’t be answered, such as “physical redemption” vs spiritual redemption If it won’t lead an individual towards Christ then there is no reason for God to heal someone If someone is already saved in Christ and someone prays for God to “heal them” and God decides to bring them home to heaven I would wager they have been healed from said cancer, no more suffering and no more pain, except the cancer they’ve been healed from is the sin virus But if we pray for something that 2 believers in Christ don’t agree on aka they’ve looked at scripture and it doesn’t align And it’s against the will of God Then it won’t come to pass Personally I’ve had alot of prayers answered but only when I looked to scripture to make sure it didn’t contradict with something else God has proclaimed and also when it wasn’t for me but rather for someone else to come to accept Jesus Christ I’ll give you an example Atheist: is truly searching for God and asks a question, supposed contradiction I don’t know the answer, I pray to God for his will to be done, if he deems it that this person needs this to be saved then may God reveal how I should respond, I would then read the text and God would give me understanding on what the text means But this only happens when A. The individual is humbly seeking God B. It is the will of God that they should be drawn nearer to him When an atheist is hostile and cursing God or not humbling themselves but claiming they know truth, thus move the goal post or find another excuse/question to ask whenever you answer the 100 questions beforehand, God does not answer my prayers but instead places in my heart for me to walk away “And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.” Matthew 10:14 KJV “This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men. But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain. A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject; knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself.” Titus 3:8-11 KJV

@@japexican007 I have an experiment for you. Pray for something that you are CERTAIN is in God's will. Do it with everything you've got and all the conditions that you say are required. I've done this. I've done this with people who were in full agreement with me, and we were ALL true believers. Pray like this for a few issues, and write down your prayers for reference, along with the dates. Then, sit back and wait for God to step in and do his magic. While you're waiting, pray continuously for those issues (just in case) and 'hold fast to your faith.' All through your prayers, quote scripture and claim the promises of God, where applicable. The whole "if it's God's will" thing is a great excuse for why those prayers won't work. If you keep a prayer journal at all, after a while you're going to see a shockingly low percentage of "answered prayers" that can't even be shown to be more than mere coincidence.

@@ZeusAssassin Yeah, it was a Christian that suggested it to me too. 😅😅 Of course, most Christians never do something like keep a prayer journal, so confirmation bias is a major factor in belief. It's easy to say, "IF it's God's will," which is why I suggested praying ONLY about things that you're CERTAIN is the 'Word of God' and to use scriptures to confirm the prayer. And by the way, if any Christians are able to prove the efficacy of prayer, I'll have no choice but to reconsider my disbelief in God.

@@martinnyberg71 Neither could I, from the perspective of thinking it was divinely correct and I HAD to internalize it or risk eternal torment. Christianity always made me feel like the most worthless piece of filth that could ever exist; I had to be, if I deserved the kind of punishment that was waiting for me prior to my salvation. I think for a lot of those who never leave the faith, they reconcile the contradiction by concluding that "I AM divinely special and I AM deserving of the ultimate reward, because if that isn't true, then instead I'm a lowly wretch who must be punished forever." I think the sense of superiority becomes their emotional shield for deflecting doubts, because doubts lead to feeling like one is destined for Hell, and thus the attendant feelings of shame and worthlessness (or at least they did for me).

All of them do? One two part question for people with superstitious religious beliefs. (A) If someone told you (or you read in a book) that the sun used matches and candles to spread light and heat at night. Would it be obvious to you, how self evidently illogical, irrational, unreasonable and nonsensical this idea was? (Would you understand why)? (B) If someone told you (or you read in a book) that something capable of creating a universe and everything in it, used puny humans and books to spread accurate information. Would it be obvious to you, how self evidently illogical, irrational, unreasonable and nonsensical this idea was? (Would you understand why)? All gods are imaginary. No people = No imagined gods.
@mh4zd Жыл бұрын
@@AndyCampbellMusic My first thought was that I agree with you (and that maybe you mistook my "this religion" to mean another theism exists that makes sense). But I might note that both of these propositions would not seem so outlandish to the knowledge base of 3,000 YA. I wouldn't even know whether or not the sun was a mere several hundred feet in the sky, quite small, and operated by mortal humans (with candles, etc, and some human technologies I had yet to encounter). The second proposition hinges on both anthropocentrism and the early vision of gods as powerful, but not omnipotent, beings, with either a god-transcending set of constraints and malevolent forces against which humans are needed, or a set of other deities against which battles must be fought, for which humans were needed. The "capable of creating the universe and everything in it" is a later evolution of the god-figure, which ended up creating some problems in terms of making sense of the creation and fall stories. The point here is that superstitious beliefs are not all the same, and I suspect there are some that exist today that are not so obvious to detect. For instance, a good many atheists still believe in an entity within each person who operates apart from causality - that can tear itself away from causality, and, now to add the entrance door to the eventual incoherency, that varies from person to person in terms of its moral quality, and yet, despite said variation, is both free of external causality and inherency (which would violate its status as free from externalities). Variation cannot come from within unless there is variation in the operator of the setting of the variation, unless we appeal to what ultimately amounts to an infinite regression. Cheers.

The reason Christianity ( or any theistic religion ) is confusing, is because of strongly encouraging the use of faith as the preferred method to sustain an indoctrinated belief. This means all reference points of reality are automatically ignored, denied or besmirched if any proposition goes against whatever belief is held on faith. To the faithful, faith always wins, regardless of what is shown otherwise. Faith is simply having the ability to convince yourself of any lie you tell yourself, and look at that ability to do so as a badge of honor.

Out of all the atheist channel I watched, it’s refreshing to see one that’s studied and thought deeply about the Bible. Not saying the others haven’t but they don’t discuss enough of the structure of the religion. Most channels talk about the philosophy of the Bible. Again not bad (I’ll admit some arguments I’ve heard aren’t that great), just glad to see the type of content and perspective of deconstructing I can relate to. This is how I deconstructed from Christianity

This here is what gradually began my own deconstruction, at least it was a large factor. There were those in my sphere that too claimed to be apostles, and much like Kathryn, I began to notice extreme inconsistencies in what they would say. On one hand I should have childlike faith and not lean on my own understanding of the Word, but on the other, I should study the word so as not to be mislead. Difficult questions regarding the issues with the bible were to be ignored, as that was Satan attempting to mislead me. It became increasingly clear that these "teachers" in my life were either extremely naïve, if they actually believed what they were saying, or showmen/con artists, if they didn't. Regardless, as someone who was genuinely seeking God, it really began to bother me how they didn't seem to have any form of introspection, it all came off much like a big loud parade, trampling anything in its path with no regard for (or even awareness of) the damage left behind. Also, your breakdown of the logic at 25:10 was amazing :D You really nailed it there.
@MindShift-Brandon Жыл бұрын
Appreciate that, man. Thank you very much and you nailed it with the lack of awareness part. Id almost rather excuse the conmen. How many leaders in this faith are just willingly blind and dont want to peak behind the curtain because they are not brave enough to handle what they might find? Its inexcusable.

"logically thinking non believers" --- That's a self-contradiction. In classical theology, God is Truth, which is synonymous with logic. Existence itself, logic, truth, or "to be" are ontological synonyms for the transcendent: that which is without beginning or end and which cannot 'not be' as demonstrate by antinomies like "there is no truth" or "nothing is". Existence in and of itself, or any of its synonyms, is the referent for the term God in classical theology

The fact that religion is so complicated is one of my major red flags! I was raised in the church since I was a wee little child. We went Sunday morning, Sunday night and Wednesday night. The fact that the Bible is so complicated and convoluted was always a red flag to me even as a kid. Why would god make salvation such a complicated maze? A few other topics that I would love to hear your viewpoint on, are the following 1. Jesus teaches to sell all you have and give to the poor. In the parking lot of the church there are numerous Mercedes and BMW‘s and everyone is wearing their thousand dollar suits and dresses and designer shoes isn’t that strange? Would this be another one of those situations that they the throw the parable flag out on or what? 2. I have people I work with and people in my family that actually go on about the mark of the beast being payment other than cash, especially the barcode implants that actually exist. Now I seldom pay with cash and have not paid with cash in years, I use my debit card. I use Apple Pay etc! It just seems ridiculous to me. It would be an interesting subject to cover. 3. I work with a lady that is a bible thumping Christian. She sit on her front porch the other evening, and seen a tornado rip a home a part in her neighborhood, and in the same sentence said the Lord sure did spare her family. Did the family at the end of the street have it coming lol? Just a few curiosities that I find interesting lol. Your take would be interesting brother 😊 PS the apostle in your video literally appears insane, even her eyes look crazy. Wow

this video does a great job at encapsulating so many of the questions i would bring up to people from various churches when i was extremely sincere about the whole thing. during that time it seemed like i couldn't find a single person nearly as reasonable as you (or many of your viewers) on any matter. instead i would be told things like "just pray about it and he'll reveal it to you", or "we don't need to know everything" among many other responses. and these are churches who proudly claim to seek/possess truth. the general vibe was always them ultimately being clueless, and often a sense of them condescendingly hinting towards the idea that i'm the problem for having questions beyond their basic list of questions they'd be happy to answer. imagine your life is crumbling around you and you're surrounded by that, yet you're the only one who seems to see how confusing everything is. all the while trying your best to do EVERYTHING right with the personal relationship christian walk. that is the most lonely i have ever felt & i'm so happy to be free

"the questions i would bring up" ---- Like???
@ydg2136 Жыл бұрын
@@andrewferg8737 If you are wanting to help me with answers to the questions, I'm no longer interested as my whole world view has changed since then as a result. Under the assumption that you're asking out of curiosity or another reason, I'll dig some of them up from my memory here: Note: When I would ask these questions they were 100% genuine from someone who believed it all & was desperately seeking for clarity. I was as kind and understanding as can be, never accusatory or even disagreeing. As I'm typing them now, I will be wording them in such a way that often reflects how I feel about it all today. It's a lengthy read so don't feel obligated to read all of it. 1. Since God is all knowing and knows things before they even occur. Why wouldn't he just not create people who he knew would end up suffering for eternity in hell? - I with my limited love experience the deepest kind of sadness when thinking about even a stranger being sent there. I would stop myself from creating the entirety of mankind if that's what it took to save just one person from meeting that fate. There's no universe where any amount of joy or greatness for other people can make up for even one person suffering in hell for eternity, if you actually love them. A father/mother wouldn't justify letting someone brutally murder their child by saying "But I did it because it's so important that my other child gets to experience this awesome birthday party I'm throwing for him, all of his friends are going to be there too it'll be great, let's focus on that". That example is on an infinitely smaller scale than what is actually happening here. We're talking about someone you love, being TORTURED in ways our minds can't even begin to grasp, not for 10 minutes, not for a year, not for a trillion years, forever. That is why I ask that question and cannot come to grips with any of the desperate attempts at an answer. 2. Why did God create Satan with the ability to turn on him in such a way as he did? While he knew it would happen and he knew every single thing that it would lead to. 3. We're told to confess/ask forgiveness when we sin. What happens when someone dies with unconfessed sin? Confessing your sin can be an easy concept to hold when you don't know enough about the bible to realize that sin doesn't just mean cheating on your spouse or saying a cuss word. There are thousands of known ways to sin, even thinking about sinning (i.e. looking at a woman with any form of lust in your mind) is sin. A very overlooked way to sin is fear. Every single Christian I've ever known has evident fear on a frequent basis. That's just the (usually blatant) fear that I, who doesn't live in their mind, can see. The vast majority of fear goes unseen, but the bible is clear that fear is sin. You could say they're living in sin because they have fear & they aren't ridding themselves of it, am I wrong? So what about that? They can confess it but it hasn't changed, so they're still sinning. What about the numerous other ways to sin or disobey that they're unaware of? What if they even took the time to take every measure to be aware of every single way possible to sin and tried to confess it all, but still had some they weren't aware of? What if they died while being unaware of it? Or what if they confessed their known sins 14 times one particular day, but told a white lie to someone, or maybe they had a moment of fear that their child wouldn't make it home today, and then they died before they got a chance to confess that? "Well that would be ridiculous" you might say, how's that? The bible says fear is sin, and that example I gave is fear. If you would argue that it's not, then who's drawing the line and where is it drawn? How are we to know these things? Do you see how ambiguous this is? It doesn't say fearing xyz is a sin, or fearing for a certain amount of time is a sin, it says fear is sin. So I'm to assume all fear is sin. 4. If us in the church are being led by/hearing from God, why do we all come to so many different conclusions on so many different topics? And there are so many differences between us and other churches who make the same claim of having that connection with God. 5. How can we be sure we're following the bible properly? To give one example: The bible could say "Believe on Jesus and you will be saved". We're talking about the difference in heaven and hell here so we need to be 100% clear, no? Not even 99% clear. What does it mean exactly to believe on Jesus? How does one believe? How can I know I believe? If I'm saved am I saved for good or does it go away depending on my actions? What if I believe at first, but then have a moment of doubt. What if I wasn't even aware I had that moment of doubt? What if I lived my whole life thinking I believed but I didn't actually? These are all perfectly valid questions about ONE verse you're expected to follow. On top of the thousands of other verses telling you what to do, what not to do, and how to do it. And depending on who you ask you'll get different answers for all of those questions.
@ydg2136 Жыл бұрын
6. How can unbelievers, or even atheists who supposedly don't have/know God, treat me with more acceptance and real love than the average Christian? How can they be so talented or so happy? I can find equal or more genuine love, emotion, unity at a secular concert than I've ever seen in church, and that's their claim to fame with "God's presence" 7. How do I know my way is the right way? With so many thousands of denominations in Christianity alone, all following the bible which has thousands of translations, containing thousands of verses each having their own interpretation depending on who you ask, how could I EVER assume I'm right and 99.99% of the population is wrong? Most of these topics we're talking about could easily be the difference in eternal paradise or eternal torment. Yet even if you stick to the same translation, or happen to pick one of the correct denominations, you're STILL going to have so many different interpretations and ideas on almost every different topic depending on who/where you ask, and when you ask them. 8. Since God says he is no respecter of persons (doesn't use favoritism), why does he reveal himself to certain people and not everyone? There are millions of people supposedly dying and going to hell by the year, of which he could save just about all of by simply revealing himself to them in ways that he has done for others in the bible (and as some claim even happens today). Why not to me? Why not to the mom who's dying of cancer while praying and relying on faith? If she's "doing something wrong" concerning prayer/faith, then why wouldn't he simply reveal that to her? 9. Why isn't the bible more clear on supposedly the absolute most important thing in anyone's life ever: being saved? There are only a few verses that even mention it. And the amount of detail/explanation is shockingly small. You can find much more detail on how to properly sacrifice an animal. If it were as serious as it's claimed to be, I would have put precise details at the beginning, the end, and everywhere in between on exactly how it has to be done. Yet it remains one of the most ambiguous topics in a book filled with ambiguity. Imagine being a foreigner who gets his hands on this book, and has to read through hundreds of pages before even getting a hint at how be saved from eternal damnation. Or even if he was aware of the concept of being saved, and while on the verge of death was franticly trying to find and figure out how to be saved. It makes no sense for it to be this way. 10. Since the bible very clearly says that God is love, AND it says that love keeps NO record of wrongs, why is our whole religion based on revealing sin to people, stopping sin, sinning less, confessing sin, condemning people? Why is the number 1 motivator and recruiter for our religion the fear of doing wrong and going to hell? (& Why are we cherrypicking laws from the old testament such as tattoos and homosexuals just because many of us ourselves don't like those things? We know that there are 613 laws derived from the same place right? Why are we picking ones like those and flat out ignoring so many others? And now I'm having to teach my brain that people aren't wrong for getting tattoos or having same sex attraction, instead of just being able to purely love them fully and unfiltered like I've never witnessed a Christian do) These questions and so many more (Brandon mentions a lot of them) are ones that would run in the back of my mind constantly as I sought help from people who were also clueless, and/or told things along the lines of "just pray about it and he'll reveal it to you". I'd continue praying many times per day and none of the questions were ever resolved, so I'd ask for further clarity and get the same type of reply. If it was someone I had spoken to before, they'd often seem to get frustrated with me and ask me questions like "why are you so rigid?" or accusing me of having sin in my life because of the anxiety I had as a result of not feeling secure which was directly due to questions like these. I had hundreds of more questions that I'd run into on specific topics or verses in the bible which I wouldn't include due to how much the beliefs vary depending on which sect you're in at the time. I'm an introvert so I would've never even talked to anyone about any of this unless they were a close friend, however as things became worse and worse, I was forced to start doing everything I could to figure these things out. It seems that the more you accept things at face value and go along with it all, the more you'll fit in and not have issues. That's what I did as a child, until I grew, learned to read, and eventually made the choice to actively seek God after seeing people pray for healing, and watching family members die while even my own parents in the same church were split on why it happened. That was the breaking point that made me say to myself that I needed to get to the bottom of how this all works. I'm not better than anyone for having made that choice, it led to thousands of hours of seeking, some times 12 hours/day. I didn't do it because I was so good, I did it because I needed to know the truth, I was suffering badly from these concepts I'd been given. I have empathy for people who are in the whole thing still. A lot of them will judge & question the authenticity of people like me and Brandon however, and I get that. What I don't get is how they either remain oblivious or refuse to have a second thought about the fact that the very things they blindly hear/read, believe in and shape their lives around are based on 1 person/church's beliefs which will vary from location to location, denomination to denomination, from translation to translation, interpretation to interpretation. That's all, hope someone found that helpful or interesting in some way since I accidentally deleted it and had to write it all twice, haha.

It’s a shame that an athiest can see how clearly contradictory and ridiculous this woman is yet Christians who allegedly have the Holy Spirit to discern (and should be reading the Bible), fail to see it and follow her. I say this as a Christian too. Well done. I really like the way you speak. You’re very intelligent and respectful.

i've been really enjoying this channel because you hit on the two key points that ended up with my deconversion, the incoherence of the Christian god and the fact that the Bible thumping extremists that cause so much harm are, in fact, the most faithful to the words of the bible. I always heard "just focus on god" but which god? The one who thinks we're disgusting and worthless or the one who thinks we're his children? The one who answers all prayers except not like that or that or that? and like you mentioned in the video, yes you can "reconcile" the bible's bigotry and lack of morality in comparison with what we know today (that women aren't inferior to men, slavery is bad, etc) by blatant cherry-picking and ignoring or sweeping under the rug of "metaphor" and "historical context", but at what point do you have to stop and go hey, why am i doing this? why not just drop all of it entirely instead of tying myself up in knots over something that was incoherent in the first place? anyway, great video! love your presentation of points - it's great to see it all like this, because there are pastors everywhere doing this kind of flip-flopping every sunday

Christopher Hitchens said “we are created sick and commanded to be well.” I suffer from refractory generalized anxiety disorder. The last time the condition went into a crisis, I consulted a psychiatrist. I spent the hour telling him all of the research, self therapy, clinical therapy, psychiatric drugs, self monitoring protocols, quackeries, and techniques I had used to control it. I also told him the times I refused treatments that I felt were abusive or destructive, and the times I submitted to such against my better judgement. After an hour of this, he agreed with me that I had probably exhausted the treatments available. But when I met him afterward by chance in the hallway of the medical facility, he said, "You need to take ownership of your own behavior." In the end I was thrown back on my own devices. "Created sick and commanded to be well." This is emblematic of the help Christianity purports to offer. You will always be thrown back on your own devices, no matter what mental gymnastics you use to deny it.
@MindShift-Brandon Жыл бұрын
I am really sorry to hear about your struggles and that is just disgusting from him also. More so though, i hate how the christian community at large still handles mental health issues. Not everyone can be helped by every therapy or drug, but so many can be, and they instead go to get oil, prayer, more faith etc.
@bradypustridactylus488 Жыл бұрын
@@MindShift-Brandon Accepting the ownership of one's behavior is an existential imperative. I just looked up and listened to Clint Black's Wherever You Go (There You Are). All of the ways I used to demonstrate my ownership to the man meant nothing. (The way I ended Church Social Services' gay conversion therapy was even more brutal, but essentially the same.) The Apostle can skate around her polished surface of evasions, equivocations, and incoherencies, but she cannot escape nor can she help anyone else escape the fact, "wherever you go, there you are." In both this version of psychiatry and Christianity, the problem as I see it is the heuristic dead end generated by Cartesian dualism.

OK man. I just gotta reach out here and tell you how much I appreciate everything you are saying! I am a youngest pastors kid who followed the path to the mission field, Seminary, etc...compliant to the end...I've called myself the poster child of my upbringing...fundamentalist, dispensationalist...questions started in my teens but I kept pressing on...the western church show was the first awakening after my trip to New Guinea at 17. My first college glorified "ministry"... then I transferred to Moody in downtown Chicago, exposing me to homeless and wealthy all at once. All the while I was angry that my parents ignored me, making the church priority...I established from scripture that elders are simply that...older men with adult children who want the office... Dad was "called" from the farm to pastor at 16...His work ethic and focus and loyalty were impeccable...kind, dutiful and dependable 100%.... but I never kn knew him. My biggest thing was that the Bible is NOT the Word of God. My conclusion is that Jesus is. (Following the fathering of 4 sons then graduating Seminary) my marriage broke. After 17 yrs of child support, alcoholism, and survival mode I'm back and reconciled with my 4 magnificent sons)... they want truth! I'm constantly searching so I can lead them properly. To wrap this up, I just want to say that you make complete sense to me. The only thought I'm grappling with is the possibility of other divine entities confusing the narrative in relation to humanity? When evil claimed to make itself like the most high, the devil being referred to as God of this world and prince and power of the air...I don't think Yahweh and the father of Jesus are the same divine entity...perhaps Jesus was studying other things from 12 to 30...we see how enlightened he was at 12. Yet aren't we all children of God?...Forgeries, empirical manipulation etc...could it be that the watchers created the world and us...God is spirit yet we're in "their" image....could it be that Jesus came to satiate the demands of another Divine entity?... This would make sense to me ... Godspeed brother!!❤

Hey man. What a struggle. So sorry to hear how difficult it has been but so pleased to Hear how its going! I am open to a creator but i dont see any reason to believe that some other mans claim of god is correct. If there is a real god and if he really wanted us to know about him, we would.

I would say this is a good video commentary on how confused Kathryn’s teaching is. The confusion I see coming out of Christianity is usually rooted in personal error / lack of contextual understanding of what the scripture is saying for a specific people, or for all people generally . Most of the criticism of confusion I see is on the conflation of the old and new covenants. The covenants are for different eras of time, ie different people groups. As a Christian I enjoyed this video. I see you’re following logic fairly well, as far as I understand the parameters of logic.

The demon possession stuff was also my church reality. It took me a long time to leave, and I deconstructed my way out the door one concept at a time, diving further and further in realizing the whole time that if god exists, it couldn’t be like this. I embraced a selective walk. It made me a heretic and a better person and finally I checked out entirely. I don’t call myself an atheist, I don’t call myself a theist. I think the only god w us is us, tho. Mainly if your walk makes u better for the disenfranchised, the vulnerable and the needy, then keep the path. Everything else is noise. I leave this cuz I love this quote: There is no god and we are his prophets. The Road, Cormac McCarthy

When the light piano track kicks in you know it's total emotional manipulation. I don't think she believes any of her schtick, she has just figured out how to grift from her victims. Her message is all over the place and they don't see the problem.
@MindShift-Brandon Жыл бұрын
I could see her still believing it, but also going your way, we just cannot know. What is amazing is the lack of "discernment" from her congregation, but when you prey on the week, they are not usually the ones to see it. Thus why her, at the behest of the scriptures, reaches out to the sick, poor, "possessed" etc.
@PrometheanRising Жыл бұрын
It would be interesting to see what the extent of her healing claims are? The faith healer I went to observe a month or so ago made claims that I do not think a person could actually believe including things like healing the blind, and restoring missing limbs, and raising the dead. If the claims are too far out there, she's putting on a show.

Growing up Southern Baptist, there never really seemed to be much wiggle room when it came to female preachers: that's a no-no. And besides that, Ms. Krick has styled hair, painted fingernails, makeup, and ample jewelry. Somebody ain't been reading too closely. 😂 It's funny though, when I really started deconstructing, I remembered back to the "silent in the churches" verse, and then I thought of all the women in the churches I'd been to that made up the choirs. And I was like, "Nah; if I ain't good enough to even open my mouth, then I don't guess I'll be singing any praises." But nothing against Ms. Krick; she means well.
