Amber, I was stationed at FAFB back in 76-80, things are alot different, and I don't recognize all the videos of the tours, the barracks I lived in was just a "room", we had common bathrooms and showers which I hated, we didn't have many choices where to eat, and even couldn't even order out for Dominoes in Airway Heights, I worked at the 92nd Bomb wing supply building, big gray building near the back gate/ and where the K/9 dogs were kept, I wonder if that building is still standing? You have it so lucky, the only activity we had was to drink at the NCO Club (there was no airmans club). Jay

No, I'm not Security Forces, I work in Materiel Management. I'll be the person you get some of your gear for when or if you deploy. Deployment was long and interesting, I was in Force Protection. (Basically just watch locals of that country clean bathrooms and do construction on base, its a baby sitting job essentially). Was in the middle east so it was HOT, tiring, but pay was amazing cause i moved out of the dorms right before so i got that BAH! Got to go off base which was nice . What’s your take on BPN’s in focus? Is it effective??
@AmberKuunani4 жыл бұрын
I personally cannot have an opinion yet because I haven't consistently taken it :/ I usually only take it on days where I REALLY need it and I feel like it supports the job it was meant for, however im not too sure if its a placebo effect. I usually use food to fuel my body/focus. I just bought it as a supporting supplement on those days where I need it most! Sorry if that's not a really good answer :/

How’s the BAH in Fairchild for a single airmen? I am considering putting it on my dream sheet but I’m afraid I will have to go into my base pay to afford Washington prices!
@AmberKuunani3 жыл бұрын
I’m gonna be honest, it’s gonna be tough being on your own with the single airmen BAH rate in Spokane. You can google “BAH calculator” and put in 99011 for the zip for your exact rank BAH pay (with and without dependents). I could only truly afford living off base with a roomate. And tbh having a roomate is going to be a hit or miss. You will have to be in the dorms as a first term, single airman, unless you have dependents. I was able to move out quickly due to my son and requests from my first sgt. Good thing about FAFB is that people move out quickly due to the capacity filling up. Usually other bases, you’d have to wait until you’re E4 to move out. Most people here move out within a year or so.
@dazeofnostalgia3 жыл бұрын
@@AmberKuunani thank you for the reply! I’m going on as a E-3 while trying to cross over to the officer side after getting my masters so I’m not sure how long it takes to get to E-4 but still I heard Washington is expensive! I’m so surprised they give single airmen 990 and airmen with dependents like 1250... that’s insane
@AmberKuunani3 жыл бұрын
@@dazeofnostalgia no worries! Shoot why not go officer now? You can get your masters too while being an officer alreasy. It might be competitive but it’ll be worth it. Unless you are already signed contract of course. And GIIIRRRRL it’s crazy. You are basically forced to have a roomate or live in a really unsafe area here. Tbh Spokane has a LOT of crime and I personally wouldn’t have put it on if I knew that. (I was stalked in Ross in broad daylight, thankfully caught it and had to be escorted out).. It’s pretty during the summer/spring/fall, but if you haven’t been in the cold or winter it can get rough during that season. Not to scare you of course, it’s just the reality. Base, however is honestly super safe. I’m SF so I kinda know what happens on that route. You just make the best out of any duty station too. I used to be an army spouse and got placed in the desert too, but I definitely prefer heat over cold any day. It was a great experience to have but I refuse to be in the cold after this 😂

@@AmberKuunani well I have a BA in Early childhood Education and I tried to get in OCS/OTS for a couple of years now and truth be told, my degree isn’t competitive compared to all the STEM degrees. I was told it would be easier for me to enlist first and cross over and even easier if I get my masters in something else that would be useful in the military. Also, I will be making more going enlisted than I do now with my degree working as a civilian 😅 it’s sad but so true!

In operational, You will have $373 taken out of your paycheck (BAS) to eat at the DFAC if you are a single airman living in the dorms. Our paychecks are very minimal so keep that in mind. You can request through your 1st SGT to get your BAS due to dietary needs, you will have to back up your case.

@@allaboutthebrowns2016 This is what he said: Uhhhh kinda. You will get absolutely zero time to got school for the first year and some change while you are going through training. And then once you graduate you will be super dooper busy with qualifying for about 6-8 months. And then after that depending on what part of SERE you work in you will either have zero time to go to school or literally all the time in the world to go to school. So I worked in the field for a year and a half and had no time to go to school, but now I work at RT I have a lot of free time so I’m going to school. So the short answer is you will have time to go to school probably about 3 ish years in. Probably not before that. But after that 3 year mark you’ll have all the time in the work
