You sound inspiring too Marjory. I started meditating at the same age you did - & hope to keep going

Marjory, I am 68 and hope to still be meditating 20 years from now, even though life is currently challenging for me. Wish that we could email or speak…don’t know if there is any way to do that..I would be willing to put my email address on her…think I could learn a lot from you…

@@ellenlederman5209 hi Ellen. I would gladly talk with you or email you. I'm just a little hesitant about putting my email out online. I'm thinking that through I may change my mind. If that doesn't bother you send me your email and I will hope to be able to bring up this reply on my phone I'm not really good at that but I will certainly be happy to respond to you. Where do you live perhaps there's a chance where near each other.

May I ask how often you meditate Marjory? I think meditation will be my savour in life. I do meditate on and off but find it hard to be consistent

Really like Tara's introductory definition. "One way of understanding meditation is a letting go of the habitual clenching of thoughts, the clenching that resists emotions and pulls away from aliveness itself." A very helpful meditation.
@lunadog712 жыл бұрын
That struck me, too. I am becoming aware of how often I am clenched, physically, and I'm sure this a result of my thoughts.

Hello Tara today is the first time I have listened to you and have a feeling of awakened to the fact that although I didn’t realise is that I am actually ‘clenching’ and ‘pushing myself to the top of the mountain’ which is causing so much pain within 😞 I thought that because I have lived the way I live and always expected ‘Marilyn’ to be all things to everyone and exert and push herself which seemed the only way to be ‘seen’ and as if she is enjoying and seeming like it is a ‘breeze’ to live this way but now I know I need to give ‘Marilyn’ a break and let her ‘unclench’ and quit ‘pushing herself up the mountain’ Thankyou 🙏

Your guided meditations and talks help me make some sense of my judgement thoughts, physical clenching, spiritual freezing. I have a long way to go but with practice letting go will become easier. Thankyou, you have a gift ❤

Tara I just found your meditations last week. Great meditation. Honestly, I suffer from doubt, fear and the what if's that are negative. I even thought at one time that if I thought of things that could go wrong, I would be better prepared when they did. That thought pattern took me to places that I seem to not be able to escape emotionally.

I have been doing daily meditation to help with depression and becoming more authentic. I think it has been helpful but I am not sure. As for being authentic in meditation I realized that I only partially expressed a great deal of creativity. It lead me to join a story telling group. As I rehearsed a story from a painful part of my teen years when I was terribly bullied I realized, much to my surprise, I could not get through this 8 minute story without a great deal of tears. This lead me to do it more. I get further through it and it seems to make me feel better, but I feel like this is not enough. What else can I do? I think this is probably the tip of the iceberg? Ideas?

Hope you don’t mind me replying. I was told it gets worse before it gets better due to facing the pain, it feels very uncomfortable but almost surrender to it, don’t fight it and it will pass through, you will then feel lighter on the other side.
