I just bought this Bass8k (1 ohm) to power two 12" Avatar STU 12's (dual 1 ohm VC's). They are rated 3000 RMS. Will this be a good amp for them? Not enough? Too much? Good match? I've always done car audio systems, but never had a high wattage system that requires an aftermarket alternator and the Big 3 (all of which I will do before installing). So just wanting an experienced person's opinion. Thank you for your time.

Besides the fact that it’s only meant for subs what other main differences are there between this and the MD8k? Is this louder with the lower bass? Does it sound better for example?

Different and better crossover, couupe extra internals that the mds lack for bass. Extra caps and such. Mds lack in lows due to crossover, and really not ment for subs. You can use it for them and will do fine. Bass will handle the bass notes better, tune batter, be louder and or smoother on bass notes

It might hit 8000 wats, but it won't push it near as good as a high quality amp. Iv also found its not a very durable amp, it won't last that long. I'm used to dealing with Fosgate, JL Audio, and stuff like that. This brand is like soundstream amps, it will work for a few bass competitions, but it won't last long. Quality amps cost about a dollar a watt. Just fyi. 😊

@@Mr.NpK143 no I’m doing some electrical upgrades first
@Mr.NpK1433 жыл бұрын
@@jamesbaysinger9780 that's a great idea 👍. That's bass 8k would more than likely have a bigger current draw then the 2 dracos. The bass line doesn't really start to perform until about 15.6 or so. Not to mention it's all a trade off. Brazilian amps will give you more power per cent, but at the expense of THD. I believe all Korean boards have a higher THD then Brazilian boards. Which boils down to better sub control at its rated power. Often times you'll see coils arching out on the metal basket when running Brazilian boards due to lack of THD at max power. So you're right in my opinion about getting better, although it is not necessarily comparing apples to apples 🤔. A lot of people after experiencing Korean boards go back to Korean boards when they try Brazilian. They say the lows aren't the same. Which was why I asked you did you switch.

@c20 np143 correct I went back to my crecendo bc4k after trying a Brazilian the lows definitely wasn't there and I was using a sfb5000. If you just want spl then I would say yeah Brazilian but if you want some nice clean lows then korean board amps for sure

Does anybody know what bass know preferably with clip light will fit this amp? I had the MD 8k btw and ran it @.5 ohms with my 2 15 avatar stu's 2ohms and the only issue I had is if I had it cranked too long it heated up. The moat important thing for running non Korean board amps at .5 is the right electrical. I have two skar rp4500 slaved together and supposed to make it from 1 to 2ohm stable but she has hooked to 1ohm cuz her subs are 1 ohm hooked in series/ parallel and it shakes the planet it hits so hard for cheap amps but I had to install fans cuz those things get hot. But again high output alternator and the big four is a must for these high power amps. Plus .5 ohms in a car with box rise and all that is probably closer to 1-2 ohms in reality. This is just my experience but I'd get the subs that match the stability of the amp. I did it the other way only reason I go .5. I bought two 2ohm subs on accident. Thats the only reason or I'd have them at 1ohm. In my opinion the lower the ohm the shitier it sounds.also you get what you pay for

Try the amp is a friends car. To verify it's the amp. I believe it's going to be somthing in you're system, or a couple things, even settings.

Your clipping because your not feeding the amp the correct amount of amperage that it is demanding.
