i love new york so much, but there are so many content creators there and i ADORE the fact that it seems like people are branching out and making these lovely videos from all over the world. i love getting to know new pleaces like this. we need more content from places that are not new york or LA. the new trend of like... "dublin/paris/copenhagen/seoul/whatever rural place diaries" is so needed and i can't wait for you to share your videos and perspective from whatever place you choose to be in

Totally agree with giving somewhere at least a year before giving up. I also think moving abroad really forces you to be more mindful and present and intentional with your everyday. It wipes the slate of your life clean and pushes you to reckon with all those areas of your life that had been intuitive and muscle memory up until that point. You learn so much about yourself through being uncomfortable

I’m a teacher (over 10 years in education) and I’m desperately trying to navigate out of it. I’ve recently had a new opportunity come my way that is not entirely in the right direction, but it could offer a bit of breathing space. This video has definitely helped me look at the decision from another perspective/ reinforced thoughts that I was having. Thanks and love from another Libra named Tara x

I really enjoyed this chat and so many things you said really resonated with me. I moved to NY in 2009 and returned to Ireland 8 years later but it took me about a year to come to terms with the fact that the pace of life there (and my career at the time) was no longer serving me and when a family member back home got really sick it was the last push I needed. I had tied up so much of my own self worth in my New York life and was really terrified of going home and being viewed as a failure. But that was me and my own insecurities and once I made the decision to leave it was such a massive weight off my shoulders and I just felt so at peace. Nervous obviously but not anxious or stressed.

it happens so easily, nyc makes everything feels so biggg even within ourselves the thought of leaving sometimes can make us feel smaller somehow but I think as you said tying up your identity in it and realizing you have, then trying to untangle that is a big job 😂

This video gave me inspiration to slow things down… i live in a city (toronto) - so maybe like a mini new york. And i really resonated with you saying you always felt like you had to be doing something. I just started a full time job and I feel too drained to keep doing ALL the self development work, trying to read, trying to workout or maintain hobbies, being social… I am really taking some words of wisdom from this video. I hope you’re enjoying this slower paced, transition period 💛

I've been a subscriber for the past 4ish years and it's crazy to see how much i've changed and how much you've changed as well. These past three months have been full of challenges and changes (libra season was rough) and making the decision to stop school for now and come home and take care of myself, was a thing I thought about earlier this year but ended up scrapping the idea until October and truly the feeling after making that decision was crazy. Feeling like my lungs could fill with air again, my body responded so well to that change in direction. I'm so happy for you Tara that you've been able to do this and start to rest and recuperate!

Hi, Tara! Long time viewer, have been following since before the move to the US. I loved this video! I’m in a really transitional period of my life (just hit my Saturn return last year) and I’m also considering moving in a years’ time bc I’m in a long distance relationship as well, so a lot of this really resonated with me! I appreciate you being open and honest about your thought process and feelings around the move out of NYC, and about just closing chapters and starting new ones with excitement rather than anxiety. Wishing you a smooth and easy transition when you back the leap back home to Ireland, can’t wait to see all of that content and Canada in the meantime! Happy holidays, much love from Chicago 🩷

I felt so seen when you said it takes a lot of courage to move away from home. For me the transition was the opposite, I lived abroad for the most part of my life. I moved back home for university alone (not much of my family around in the city I live in) but the journey to actually navigate my life in my 20s, feeling lost in a country I'm supposed to call home felt so lonely and strange. Watching your videos feels like an older sister reassuring me that I'll be okay moving forward. Big energetic hug back!

I also just moved countries (moved from 7 years in Amsterdam to my home country) and feel like I need to ground and rest/reset to be able to start my “new” life after having my whole 20s in Amsterdam. tara!! wishing you the absolute best of luck on your new journey. i got to meet you at la cantine a few months back and it was such a full circle moment for me because i found your videos when i was in high school and knew i wanted to move to new york one day!! been here two and a half years now and i think it is kind of apart of the new york experience to wonder how long you will stay and what is next (def is something i find myself already questioning). i think partially because new york is such a exciting yet exhausting place to live, but also because the people who move here are all so ambitious and crave growth. you have truly felt like an online big sister to me all these years, and i feel so at peace after watching your videos, and reaffirmed that as long as you have a strong core things will work out exactly as they're supposed to

I will miss the NYC vlogs for sure. But, it's so great seeing my favorite content creator girlies progress and take on new adventures, especially you. You've gone through so much and still were able to produce inspiring and meaningful content. Not only that, but I love your realness. It's that Libra energy, though! I love my fellow Librans 💛 And I can absolutely relate to you & others on similar paths having moved from my hometown and gotten married all within this year. Not only that, I've been able to travel around the U.S with my hubby and we even had an epic honeymoon traveling overseas. It has been a whirlwind to say the least. So, I mentioned all that to say that there is so much beauty in change; as scary as it can be. I can't wait to see the content you will make in Vancouver and eventually when you're back home in Ireland. I love the Ireland vlogs by the way! It has always been on my travel bucket list to visit there one day and I definitely plan on making that a reality! Lol, I didn't mean to be so long winded, but I'm big on giving flowers to those who deserve it.

Hiya Miss Tara ....great and fab all around. You speak so easily to all so many topics and reach SO many people. Interesting about move to the homeland...I SO hope the right rental space finds you. Not gonna lie I am soooo overdue for a vid featuring that gorrrrgeous doggo of mom and dads haha. So long ago that was. Excited for you and your partner in crime/adventure/growth/travel ... what a thing to return home together. Am sure the owner of Vangroovy condo will make even a cra cra amount more than what yaz payed. Vancouver is so boring compared to NYC needless to say esp. post pandemic AND inflation greed by the small percent of *zillionaires* that run a great majority of the world. Did you book to go to Capilano Suspension Bridge--worth it!! Also Vandusen Gardens on Oak St for cmas lights and La Farge outdoor lights all around the lake out in Coquitlam...can take train right to that one. I will be sad to not attempt to get ya out on a big swim in our Salish Sea...I had SECRET places to share with ya two haha. Be well girlie.
