In the line item Emergency Service Call the trade is automatically set on Carp-Mech on my Xactimate program (so I'm sure it is for you too) which is $175.60 right now. If I change the trade to RFG it changes the price to $432.61. I am a roofer so is it applicable to change the trade to RFG? Would that get approved by the desk Adjuster? And yes I'm doing a Tarping Sandbag job. It goes through adding the tarp sandbag line with remove and replace since we had to do that when the Adjuster came to look at the roof? I've been told people's policies have a percentage only available for temporary repairs so that means I most likely won't get paid for my entire estimate? I'm sorry for so many questions. I love watching your videos and I'm talking to my boss about paying for your training courses. You do keep up do date even today with everything correct?

What about a wind damage claim, that failed brittle test ? Would you then argue the seals are compromised because they’re so brittle plus shingles are missing ?
@bobscruggs90514 жыл бұрын
Here in Florida only sand bags are used years ago the roofers would screw down battens then the roofs were not approved so the roofers were responsible ...OOP !

Hi! so can you invoice the tarp to insurance, even before they approve the claim? if so do they pay for it before the claim process begins, or what if the claim is deny? do they still pay for it?
@InsuranceRestorationTraining5 жыл бұрын
Very VERY good question. I would actually go ahead and tarp before the claim is approved, especially if an adjuster appointment is not yet set or it's too far in the future. I would take the weather into account. I would make sure they have coverage by asking them to verify in a group email with their agent... and I would make sure there are no unusual restrictions. And of course I would definitely make sure that the damage is legitimate and from a loss that would more than likely be covered under the policy. I would use all of these data points to make a judgment call on whether or not to move forward. In the end, if not approved, you are on the hook. It should be a very small risk if vetted properly. Make sure to take extensive photos before installing. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching, brother... and for the awesome question! Much love. 🙏🙏🙏🙏👊😉

Insurance Restoration Training Hi I was retained by my client 5-3-19 on a 4K sqf comercial apartment building that had wind damage and was leaking water to the apartments on the second level. Insurance adjuster came and made us take off the tarp and we had to re-tarp the roof again. Insurance is trying to claim that roof is over 20yr old and now is sending a technician to take a sample and send it to the lab! But I still like to get paid for the properties mitigation! You’re the greatest Chad! I have learn so much from your videos!! If I ever get pay for this tarps I’m so signing on to your course!! Lol thanks all the way from Chicago!!!!!👍🏼

What would the line item name in xactimate for tarping? Having issues finding this
@InsuranceRestorationTraining4 жыл бұрын
It's in the TMP (temporary repair) category. And I believe the code is TARP. But do a search for "tarp" in that category and it should pull up all associated line items. Hope this helps. 👊👊👊😉

Out here ( Buffalo NY), there are carriers that will not "allow" you to tarp any effected areas that don't have shingles physically damaged. Allstate went as far as saying that they'll only allow for a tarp service on areas where the decking is EXPOSED.... crazy
@InsuranceRestorationTraining5 жыл бұрын
Wow... that is indeed crazy... stay on em, brother. The reason why it is so crazy is because the policyholder is expected to have the obligation of stopping the bleeding... mitigating the damages. So when the carrier denies it, or even resists it... that tends to concern me. Anyway... we have to stay on em, my friend. Thanks for watching and for the comment! Please stay tuned! - Chad Michael 🙏💖👊😉

No wonder i saw whole slopes being "tarped". I say "tarped" because they were using synthetic felt with plasticaps adding more nail holes than damage they could of been trying to covee.

Ya but lets be realistic , only certain areas on the roof will leak . Due to failed shingles / temporary lifted shingles during the actual storm . 100% tarp is way to expensive for homeowners. But it is a good way to smoke that deductible for the insurance company
