Narada, I honestly haven't heard much of your playing in 30 years or more, but you are responsible for what I believe to be the greatest drum sound, and playing on record on Eternity's Breath Pt 1. It changed my life. Unbelievable! Thank you.

Wonderful interview l am 75 yrs.old pro drummer since 67 so l grew up with your music ( still playing Santana covers with my present band) Miles, Trane & Hendrix are my holy trinity. It was great to hear the names of all the wonderful musicians mentioned in the interview l am fortunate to know almost all of them. I happen to play many styles from jazz, rock, afro-caribbean- brazilian etc. We have been so privileged to live in this lifetime. But music is just the sonic aspect of the Universe. I am also deeply thirsty about the nature and workings of the Universe so l love the books written by very smart people like Carl Sagan, Steve Hawking, Brian Greene , Albert Einstein , Charles Darwin, Richard Dawkins, Christopher Hitchens etc. And l am very grateful to them bacause they made it possible for me to look and feel REALITY AS IT IS .Leaving no place for any kind of god. Just me and the vastness of the Multiverse. And this makes me free and inmensely happy.

This was mindblowing. I actually owe Carlos Santana a huge debt of gratitude because he sorted me out on what music is actually about when I was totally lost. I'm still lost, but a step closer to the truth now. But I have to mention Narada's silence and his amazing ability to let the interviewee speak, and allow *pauses*. It's a masterclass in making people feel seen, heard, and appreciated, which is desperately needed in more interviews these days. Thank you!!

I love both of you guys. this is a huge treat for me to see 2 Super Positive musicians together in the same room elevating eachother. Santana has a sound that absolutely no one else has and Narada did the same, he made a sound that no one will ever be able to replicate. Please everybody appreciate Genius when you see it because one day soon musical geniuses MIGHT be less and less common. We already see how uncommon musical geniuses are today!!

I happened to come across this today. I have to admit that I listened to very little of it. In the beginning Santana is saying positive things about chinmoy. That was surprising, because years ago when he left chinmoy he disparaged chinmoy. Also back in 2009 Jayanti Tamm wrote a pretty scathing book about chinmoy and the cult he created. I found that book very interesting. What is it now Carlos?

A great interview centering on (1) the unending quest for inspiration necessary for all artists (2) the emphasis on the child in all of us as the source of creativity (Sri Chinmoy) and musicians at all levels must do to penetrate the brick walls of varying sorts which confront all of us at all levels by suppressing the ego in pursuit of higher values. Thank you!

I remember being really depressed once in the 90’s, I put on Milagro, a great Santana album and felt so lifted after, my despair had Vaporised, no joke. His music really has that power! And what a beautiful interview, not near enough views it deserves

Narada, this was just the absolute BEST! Thank you so much for this whole series! I caught the Billy Cobham one by accident. Then looked forward to Mahavishnu's where you encouuraged him to speak way more about his spiritual influences and advice than ever before! And this one with Carlos has been the Be All and End All interview so far! Truly open to the powers above - as Carlos always is - but you even brought out even MORE than he usually speaks of and that was beautiful! Thank you Narada, just like Johnji & Carlos, you are a beacon of joy and talent and Light shining so strongly for all with eyes open to see! Thank you! When I was a kid and I first heard you influencing the tunes of Mahavishnu Orchestra with your presence and skills and composition you brought a beacon of Light - it was like you opened another door that let in even more joy & Light than even John had done so far! Now you bring that light - throwing open the door to let us all see the light - to the world in a different way via yourself and these interviews

Every musician/human being, etc, can relate to what Carlos was saying about playing in the state of consciousness where you've lost yourself, or "drooling", etc. An outer-body experience!! That's what we all live for. Even if it only happens once in a lifetime. Or even the pursuit of that state of grace, is alone worth it!!

I remember being backstage during Santana’s tour with JMcl to promote the “Love Devotion Surrender” record (1973?). it seemed that Santana had just gotten into the concept of “prayer,” and he was proselyting to a guy about the joys of prayer for getting stuff. I remember like it was yesterday, Carlos saying “Oh man, with prayer you can get ANYTHING!! You want a candy bar, you pray for a candy bar, and you GET ONE!!!”

I love Carlos with all my heart but I still have so much difficulty understanding WTF he's saying. I guess watching his career for so long I forget he full blown Hippie and I respect that because he does it with style. I just know he is somebody we must continue remembering and teach our children, grandchildren & others. As the Maestro of Music he is completely a genius creating his own genre. Also him mentioning drummers & percussionist as his love of for music comes from. I myself played congas & bongos for a band many years ago and now I feel appreciated. 😎

Search for the sacred…it is all around you…the sacred is the music of God….😊❤ this is the eternal……reveal the sacred in you…..beauty….the way is to remove yourself…let Beauty and goodness be in you and come to others….. be God’s vessel…grace….”there is no fear in love”…only freedom to move with God….just make yourself available to His desire for you….your purpose….only yours…you are beautiful, Carlos…just be you…..that is your gift to the universe……that is also your blessing…..”in quietness and confidence is your strength..”. Let your music be timely, ….to be present..whenever you are, wherever you are…connecting with the life all around you…and let that life fly….God is the provider of all goodness and beauty….always give thanks…..let your joy be in that you are only a vessel, and always be willing to let Him play through you in truth….and love…”in quietness and confidence (in Christ) is your strength…”with God all things are possible…” Blues music is alright if it comes from God’s heart….that is true sadness and emotion…in Christ, we can share the heartbreaks that Christ has known…there are many colors and shades of melody and song…they are all true if they are true from your heart…from everlasting to everlasting…that is from God…share what you have….”freely you have been given, freely give…”…living out the mind and heart of God…it is all good…be faithful and true…..He ❤also gave you YOU, to share…
