John Byrne helped create Taskmaster, an Taskmaster was my favorite new villian introduced in this run on Avengers. I just haven't kept up with the character since that era, but stiil, so underrated.

Lol..Hyperion, a guy who can react a multiples of the speed of sound (upward of 6,000mph)..in some cases faster than light.. Can count the number of atoms in an object..while he is in space. Could punt any "rubicon" machine into the sun. But he doesnt scan an oddly shaped arrow and can't hear it coming back around into his back. The arrow could literally barely touch his shirt and he could react before it pierces his skin. I guess thats why they don't really use him in story lines too much. Anything less than a Beyonder, just really isn't a threat to him. To actually hurt him just takes too many plot holes.

In different universes he has lazered the Hulk into a blob, has one shotted Galactus. However, him and Thor become battle buddies against the Beyonders, but I belive they both get killed.

It's called underestimating him - which is why he didn't go full effort. He's literally beating the tar out of him casually why would he put in more effort?? And regardless of what the arrow had, would it hurt him?? No it would literally take his rare weakness to even matter and since taskmaster tossed his shield which was useless and not a threat to him why would he care about the arrow?? I do agree that they could have just sent him to destroy the 'rubicon' gg but more than likely Maria wanted control of it and not to outright destroy it. Now the real BS is Taskmaster who bodied the entire Avengers team before being terrified of Black Widow. I mean you can have a good fight but him 'terrified' is pure BS.

I get confused by all the "god like " heroes. After a while they become bland to me. Hyperion, Gladiator, Sentry... I've always found the "street level " characters to have the more interesting, compelling stories. Not always, I'm occasionally shocked by what they occasionally do with the Hulk. But overall, I feel like the writing and development is generally better with the non world breaker types.

I doubt this comic was up to proving it either. Task master out classes her in every way physically and combatwise. Rather than have her use resources and intelligence to win they probably would have just nerfed him. If there really was John Wick fighting skills she knew that were superior to Captain America, Elektra, Iron Fist, Shanghai Chi, Hawkeye, Punisher, Bullseye, Daredevil, and so on Task master could just mimic her and have all of that without being a much shorter 120 pound person.

@@gottfriedosterbach3907 they're not even talented enough to do a comic like that. To have black widow win a fight with task master just have her lead him to a location where she set up various traps that would throw him off and he wouldn't be able to counter. You're absolutely right.
