It would be cool to see people swap their favourite snacks by category! For example have a "sweet" category, "salty" "spicy" "sour", etc. That way they're more comparable as they taste them!

Okay but sour cream and onion really is such an underrated snack flavor? Like I've been trying to find more transparent sources for various snacks and NO ONE in the eco friendly snack system seems to want to make sour cream and onion stuff (like Kettle is the closest and I'd still like more information on their farming practices). I can get vinegar chips by so many makers, and there's a sour cream and onion hippie riff on Pringles, but no sour cream and onion classic potato chips. I'm at the point where I'm researching DIY powders. It'll happen!
@calebdouglas76222 жыл бұрын
Honestly sour cream & onion is light years better than salt and vinegar
@DessertGeek2 жыл бұрын
@@calebdouglas7622 I'm with you there! And yet, still easier to find than sour cream and onion
@painkillerasprin2 жыл бұрын
There is literally sour cream powder online. Add in some home made scallion or onion powder, salt and you have the base of a great chip. You spice it up with chilli powder of choice, lal mirch or gochugaro areme go to. It works on french fries as well as chips. But plain reduced salt chips and coat to desire by tossing in a bowl. Shake in a strainer if too much sticks.
@DessertGeek2 жыл бұрын
@@painkillerasprin Oh totally! More I need to go and see what the most ethically sourced options are. But I'm loving your ideas for adding heat!
@painkillerasprin2 жыл бұрын
@@DessertGeek Outside of the sour cream powder you can easily make the other ingredient at home after purchasing the fresh options sustainably. scallions and onions are not hard to find in farmer markets or organic sustainable sources at least i think they aren't. wash then dice them finely and wrap in a thin sheet and leave outside/hand under sun for 2 days taking them in at night and you got sun dried onions and scallions. can't get more sustainable than that and pretty hands off.

If soft, remove top half of shell, bite a little, then pour some soy and tabasco into the middle and scoop out with a spoon or buttered toast. If hard, de-shell the egg, cut in half, add soy and tabasco to the yolk, then enjoy. The separating and plate licking ... no, just, no.
