Not to mention this is blue-green. When you draw a card you get five million triggers; all your cards gain +1/+1, you proliferate, you gain life, make treasures, tap target permanent, bake a cheesecake, go for a swim, finish that novel you’ve been writing, and each opponent loses a toe, to name a few.

Man, if you think this is bad, let me introduce you to Aesi, Tyrant of Gyre Strait. For 4, a blue, and a green, you get a 5/5 serpent that reads "You may play an additional land each turn. Whenever a land enters the battlefield under your control, draw a card." At my table, he is known for creating continent sized landmasses to bury you under.

I have both in my Simic landfall deck, but I prefer to have Taty at the helm. She does basically the same thing, the life gain is actually useful because that much green ramp generates a lot of hate, and she comes down a turn sooner meaning your engine comes online faster. Yes, she doesn't let you play the extra land but you're in Simic, getting lands out in criminal numbers was plan A, B, and C anyways.

Turn 1 Burgeoning. Turn 2 Abundance (because they dropped a land on each other player's turn) turn 3 tatiyova never need to worry about land drops again Play a land, draw a card (no, go until you hit a land and put it in hand) opponent plays a land, you play the land that you have "miraculously" drawn into on your previous land play. oh, hey. go for another land. it is the start of your fourth turn and you have half the land in your deck in play.

Abundance also prevents a mill loss. Anything that replaces the act of drawing a card means you will never "draw" from an empty deck.
@nonaG12311 ай бұрын
@@ryanstewart2289 Huh what now?
@ryanstewart228911 ай бұрын
@@nonaG123 Abundance is a replacement effect. It replaces your draw with a different game action. You have Abundance on the field and zero cards in your library. You go to draw. Abundance says "if you would draw a card you may instead..." so instead of drawing a card you name land, fail to find, and never draw from your empty deck. Technically this works with any effect that replaces drawing a card. Underrealm Lich is one of my favorite examples.

Speaking of simic, try Alaundo the seer! Turn after you bring him out you can tap him, draw a card, exile a card from your hand with a number of time counters on it equal to its mana cost. Every time he taps remove a time counter from each card in exile. No time counters left on a card? Play it for free with haste! At least it’s only once per turn right? WRONG! It’s simic so it runs so many cards that untap it lets you take 18 turns in one!
