Very helpful explanation and overview. Nice demo with taking time to actually let the notes ring and demo the sustain. The warning and setting expectations on the tone "break in" is also very helpful. Well done and thank you!

Love to own this guitar, the only problem is the wife won't appreciate me selling the house to pay for it :(

Yeah, probably the best guitar out there, but also LAG are good, only a bit different sound from this guitar - not so much balanced, but rather more body and brightness to it.

Fun fact, a few models from 2017 had the v class bracing. I have one of those rare 2017 models. I got super lucky!

The guitar looks and sounds awesome. But is there a neck alignment problem ? I thought I heard some dud notes around fret 12

Look at how he pauses after he plays. Like he just saw the face of god! This guitar affects your soul and forces you to search inside deep in your soul for the right chords to play for you know it shall be a thing of beauty affecting all who are around to hear it! Surely this is the guitar that Jesus himself has sent down to us mere mortals so that we may have a taste of heaven if only for 4 minute songs at a time! GOD BLESS YOU SIR

Remember, they are using microphones to record the sound, you are using a device to hear that recording, KZbin is compressing the video thus affecting the sound, etc... This guitar is amazing, considering the rule of diminishing returns, and I am actually looking to get one. Played one and it was the most amazing guitar playing experience I ever had- it’s a truly special instrument... Worth or not is like the beauty- in the eye of the beholder... but the price is often dictated by a variety of factors, for example: the rarity of the wood, the pattern on the wood, the volume of items produced(economy of scale), man hours required to finish the product, supply and demand, complexity of the build, R&D, profit etc... you get the point. The guitar actually sounds really nice, and at $5k I’m not sure what I would improve TBH, it a well built, great sounding, beautiful instrument... if I can’t afford it- it doesn’t reduce its value.

Is this supposed to be much better than the 224?
@thelowmein91436 жыл бұрын
Excellent question, the 224 is a lot cheaper, but it has layered koa back and sides, whereas this one is solid back and sides. Does that justify the extra 3000$? I don’t know lol.
@carlosayson40746 жыл бұрын
The Lowmein build quality and other finish makes the price i think
@heythere69836 жыл бұрын
I have the 224, I tested a few at different guitar centers, I have the golden satin one and mine in particular has got to be one of the prettiest damn guitar I have ever seen but I got it because of the tone. It is punchier than its lacquered version and a little brighter, its bass is awesome and midrange and treble is so spot on to where I want it. It sounds very similar to this but compared to the laqcuered ones, its about the same basically with one of the ones I played being very bassy and thick sounding. None sounded muddy or dull. The one I have is super lively and has good bass. I wouldn't say this is much better sounding but I'm sure there is a difference, is it a huge difference, I don't think so, but that's a personal preference.

Is a Rolls Royce better than a Kia? It depends on what you are looking for... to be honest... and on what you can afford- bilet they are both cars, both will require a driver, both have leather seats, both drive on the same road, both will take roughly the same time to travel the same distance... but not both are hand built, not both use the hand selected cows for their leather, not both will be cheap to insure, only one won’t deprecate $200 000... Not everybody can afford to have a personal chef, some of us eat ramen... If you can afford it, and it’s something you appreciate- it’s an amazing experience every time you play this guitar! I will get one at some point- but remember the rule of diminishing returns.

Thank you, Taylor. So now the pre 2018 models are worthless? MARTIN and other serious company's would never do such an fuck up against their high end customers
