Brand new from Taylor, the action can be lowered a little bit more. (extreme one like this can be an exception if it was already set up). Thanks for the review.

Thank you for such a good review. It seems the guitar sounds more "in-tune" because the fundamentals of each notes is emphasized, with less overtones, such as other guitars from this price range. Not sure it can match every expectations from every musicians... As you said, a boutique guitar maker can build you a incredible guitar for such a price... Not sure Taylor can support the comparison...

When referring to the price for name. Have you thought about the implications of price when it comes to resale value? I would say it’s worth the extra money to solidify your investment.

I wouldn't pay £6000 for this (or any other) guitar; but I did pay £4800 for one, and at that price I have to say it's very well worth it!

did you get a chance to compare it to an X-braced model? what were your thoughts?

Yes - I have played numerous Taylor guitars at the top end of the range, and have flirted with several high-end Gibsons and Martins too. I've been on a 25 year "quest for the holy grail" type search but always stopped short of taking that last step. The marketing hype from Taylor is more likely to make me wary of them but this guitar had me "dead in the water". It's a joy to play and , for me, the perfect finger-style guitar. I accept some might prefer a guitar with more pronouced bass-response, but the 914ce X-braced for example (Rosewood) doesn't sound nearly as clear to my ears, and left me underwhelmed. Two years ago I tried a £7000+ Taylor special edition with Bob Taylor's choice of tonewoods, and wasn't impressed; I wouldn't have paid half that for it. The last thing that impresses me is an expensive guitar with pretty inlays and fancy adornments that leave me with the impression the gutar's looks are the most important feature, at the expense of sound and playability. This guitar's features are the icing on the cake. Now I've just got to get my playing skills up to a level where I feel I can justify owning it!

As beautiful as koa is, I still think Indian or Brazilian rosewood produce a nicer "creamier" tone. Koa sounds a little too harsh

You dont compare with the older x bracing therefore we only have your word for v bracing. Do a comparison video.

I wish they didn’t include the ES2 in all models. In my opinion it really Isn’t that good.

And too precise because it highlights your mistakes? Doesn’t seem relevant as there’s this thing called practice.
