Yes, Midnights was a breakup album. If you actually listen to the lyrics of even Rep or Lover you'll see that Tay never felt secure in Joe's love. The "Love Songs" are so riddled with anxiety it's crazy. TTPD is actually more than just about Matty, listen to the stories she's telling in the songs. Think back on things she's said about her past relationships and in her past songs. TTPD is actually her letting go of all of that past trauma she's been put through. It's about everyone who's ever hurt her. There's songs that are about more than 1 person in it. The Manuscript is about Jake. It's takes you back to the all too well short film where she showed a small look into their relationship. There's several songs that are about Joe as well. Then the only love songs we get are about Travis and there is absolutely no anxiety in them for the very first time. She knows she found the one and I love that Travis makes her finally feel safe, secure and loved. Not only does he love her but he publicly shows it. He's also not afraid of the paps, Taylor's fame, success or that she has far more money than he does. It's really her best album she's ever written.

She told us. But when people start saying a song like Tolerate It was about Joe, then I call BS. Joe was never "so much older and wiser". Calvin Harris would probably fit that scenario the best. I think she was there two or three days she might’ve gone out with him then and I think she went out with him one other time she was not anywhere in love with him or dating him or never were they a couple. He strung her along when she clearly wanted marriage. He didn't wanna lose her but didn't wanna commit to her. He was great in many ways. But I can't like him for that. Be a man and don't string a girl along when she's giving it her all for years of her life.... travis has by far been the best guy for her IMO. He's supportive, not afraid of her success, or the media, he clearly loves her and respects her. And it's mutual.
