This was such an iconic song, it may sound like an empty threat when she says "i wrote you song, you should've known", as taylor has a reputation of writing about her relationships, but apparently john mayer felt the hit because he said he was very humiliated lol i would be too, but then again, I'm not a 30-something dating a 19 yo girl and playing push and pull narcissistic shit lol

This song is so impressive, actually the whole Speak Now album is impressive. She wrote the album when she was 19 and she wrote the whole album by herself without any co-writers. Also, this song is about a breakup of a relationship involving a 19 year old girl and a 32 year old man, so yeah when she sings the part of "it was wrong, don't you think 19's too young" I felt that.

Stay Stay Stay 22 Long Live Lover Welcome to New York You need to calm down Today was a fairytale Long Story Short Call it what you want I would recommend London Boy in the live Lounge, its sooooo fun to hear and watch! Fun Taylor Swift songs: - Blank Space (I would recommend watching her performance at the Grammy Museum first. It will give you context as to what the song is about. Then I’d watch the video- it’s very clever and humorous. - Lover - Paper Rings - Long Live (a song she wrote for her fans and her band) - Style - Out of the Woods - Shake it Off (fun video which includes Taylor poking fun at herself) - Karma - Ready for It? - Georgeous - Getaway Car - Love Story (cute and fun, but romance viewed from a young girl’s perspective). - Our Song I’m about your age and two or three months ago, started going down the T.S. rabbit hole trying to figure out what was behind this woman’s longevity, immense fame and loyal fan base. What I found was what I, and many other people, believe to be one of the best, most versatile artists of her time. Also someone who, while far from perfect, has a big heart, truly loves and appreciates her fans and has been torn down and criticized over and over again- to the point she retreated into hiding for a year. HOWEVER, she made nothing short of an iconic comeback. If you’re still interested in learning more about her, her music, I can point you in some other directions. I’d say it’s worth it in the sense that I really believe she’s a kinda once-in-a-lifetime phenomenon. To help boost my credibility… maybe 😉… As I said, I’m about your age, so I didn’t grow up with her music, came into this whole thing pretty skeptically, and can say that I’ve never had so much respect for an artist and a human being. Like I’ve said, she certainly has her faults because, at the end of the day, she’s a human being. But, I’ve never felt strongly enough and excited about an artist, to bother posting comments on social media. All that being said, I would have to tell you that what many of us believe to be her masterworks so far, I wouldn’t recommend them to someone who’s looking for light, fun music. I’m sorry that song upset you. Looked like it hit a little too close to home. Unfortunately, it does for a lot of us. What I really admire, though, was that she was able to turn the tables and “take back” some of her power by turning it into art (a recurring theme in her career). I also respect that she had the fortitude to call him out , especially at that point in her career, she was nowhere near the level of stardom she has in 2023. One of the things that frustrates me about the media narrative of her has depicted someone vindictive and petty. While I won’t say she’s never petty, never holds a grudge, etc. I hardly consider a young girl calling out someone for manipulating young women over and over again “petty”. I say “bravo”. Anyway, that was much longer than I expected to be. As I’ve said, I’ve become a huge fan.

Came here to say pretty much all of this. 62 year old man here, converted by Anti-Hero's clever, self-aware lyrics and catchy chorus. Fell hard down the rabbit hole and turned full swiftie, all in the space of a few months. The woman is a rare talent and a badass with a real heart. Can't get enough.

This is one of my top 10 favorite Taylor songs of all time (it was my favorite when it came out back in 2010) but you wanted to skip the 22 then maybe you could listen to 22 by Taylor Swift to get some poppy happy song. This song was about the super toxic relationship she had with John Mayer, she was 19 and he was 32. It was super creepy from him. I saw her perform this song live twice but she doesn't play it anymore, says it's too hard emotionally.

I know your fans have kind of steered you to Taylors sadder songs, but keep in mind her catalog is massive, and spans across genres. There are so many different types of songs she has, and its unfortunate youve only been told about her sadder songs. I can promise you they arent all like that. If you want a high energy pop beat and good lyrics, Style is a great one to go with. The song Red is also another great one, basically any song from her 1989 album which is pure pop. Here's a bit about her albums so you can judge a song a bit better if you see which album it comes from. Speak now (this song is from) is country/pop rock 1989 is pure pop Red is pop/rock Reputation is pop/synth/R&B influence Lover is pop Folklore/Evermore is alternative rock Fearless/Taylor is country rock/ pop
