@@2021-c1r that's the time when she was accused of cheating and everyone saying she's overreacting. @mikhail coffin No. We just shouldn't get any praise for being good fathers. And mothers apparently shouldn't either? I am also confused. RE: NaTasha, people can be horrible. But everyone can be horrible. I also don't understand why wearing sweatpants is bad.
@mauve92664 жыл бұрын
Fair point but I do think it’s okay to praise men for being good fathers just like it’s okay to prissier women for being good mothers I don’t think there’s anything wrong with positive reinforcement/attention
@Anonymouse4284 жыл бұрын
I think you three are missing the point. She’s talking about the disproportionality of how men get praised for doing a minimal amount of parenting, whereas women get “mom-shamed” when they aren’t completely Mary Poppins level perfect. It’s a real thing. And if you can’t understand it’s a real thing, you are either clearly not parents, or you are dads who are likely eating up more than your fair share of the parenting praise.
@mauve92664 жыл бұрын
Lizzie Baggins no I understand the point 😂 hence why I said fair point. I was just saying there’s nothing wrong with positive praise to parents in general but I get the whole “dads tend to get praise for the bare minimum” Mom shaming sucks parenting is hard enough as it is. I was just mentioning a point I thought relevant at the time. And no I’m not a parent so my perspective isn’t fully valid but as a daughter who does a ton to look after her younger siblings without the help of parents I think it’s important to praise parents who do actually try to help their children even if it’s small because I know that it’s greatly appreciated when they do
@TheCommonCondition4 жыл бұрын
@@Anonymouse428 I am a father of two. Divorced. And get my kids 50% of the time, actually. Was raised by a singlw mother. I dont get praise from anyone other than my s/o and mom. If someone is "mom shaming' you, it seems that they arent parents. it stands to reason that people who arent parents praising/not praising people is the issue. Not men themselves. In this scenario, the man is the object of praise. If the issue is the men getting praise, the question becomes who is giving said praise, and why. Likely, its non-parents or women with shitbaby-daddies prasising them. Outside of that; neither men nor women deserve praise for doing their jobs. So, really itsdumb to praise anyone unless theyre doing an immensely better job than average. Thirdly, a lot of men arent around for their kids so positive reinforcement in a public manner could assist in changing that on a cultural level.

Carl Lewis this song is inspired by the MEN who screwed her over and the MEN who have took advantage of so many women in this industry. she’s not saying it’s all men, she’s not saying that women don’t do the same thing. she’s calling out the male privilege in this industry, because there is so much male privilege. think of everything that happened to her and other artists. she gets called a slut for dating too much but when men have dated more people than her it’s absolutely fine, when she has a problem everybody calls her overdramatic but when a man does it it’s ok. the whole scooter situation, people were calling her overdramatic for not owning her music that she worked hard on. it’s not just her, think of kesha, who has to pay her abuser a quarter of her net worth. male privilege exists and she’s calling it out. but in no way is she saying that it only happens to women or that all men are bad.

Other male reactors got mad of this MV of Taylor Swift because truth hurts 😂 But you didn't get hurt because you're one of the good guys on Earth. Thanks for being in this world. You're one of a kind man. Stay safe always. 💗

People think this is just her hating on men. But she's calling out both men and women (especially those in her life) who display double standards. And what better way to do it than an exaggerated and comical portrayal of those male stereotypes. And as a man, i genuinely respect her and i'm so happy to see that she'll be owning all her work moving forward.

I totally feel ya on having to defend Taylor Swift in real life constantly. Like the comment section on that video alone was so ignorant at time... When multiple women- people- say that there is a often a culture of misogyny and frat boy mentality, the first argument is- Not all men, don't generalise. I mean seriously, if you're not a a-hole you will not be troubled by this video and in fact will recollect moments where you've seen the same. If you're an a-hole in real life- enjoy being triggered. This video was good any which way.

Shivangi Aggarwal Most of this didn’t bother me personally except for the dad and daughter scene. I can tell you for a fact that as a father to a little girl, I get zero to no recognition or praise for that role and that’s ok because that’s my job as a father.
@justlurkingat84 жыл бұрын
@@dakotachappell406 I get why this must have bothered you and that sucks. I was speaking mostly from my personal experience, where I'm from. My uncles get disproportionately praised for child care (which until recently was all woman's job) compared my aunts who are also working moms. But, you should be praised. Being a parent, dad, is awesome and it's hard work. It's commendable that you think of it as a given. All the love and respect from my end :)
