I think this is the best example video for any want to be wedding photographer. You are. A product photographer. Rings, shoes, tables, cards, You are. A portrait photographer. Self explanatory cause you’re dealing with people. You are. A street photographer. Cause you need to include all the background as a backdrop in the back of your head. And where to place people.This works and not this. You are. A Nature photographer. Or maybe even wildlife. Lots of pictures outside the venue. And you’ve got to think about the compositions and lighting. So all in all. You do every genre of photography. In a few hours of work. Big thanks for sharing. 👍🏻

Great video some great tips in there I’ve not shot a wedding in years and I’ve got a friends sisters wedding coming up which is a good low stress shoot as they wasn’t going to bother having a photographer do that takes the pressure off me and I can just experiment with the gear and a lot of trial and error see what works and what doesn’t one thing that did prick my ears up was the location where was all wood and no good for bouncing the flash makes me feel like just putting a small softbox on there will resolve that issue without being too intrusive!!

I shot one wedding as a second shooter and I brought too much gear. I was sooo sore the next day. 2 camera bodies, 2 flashes, 3 lenses (Nikon 24-70, 14-24 and 70-200). I also brought a small soft box and light stand for off camera flash.
@MrBennyrick773 жыл бұрын
Remember your feet are your best tool. Ditch the 3 telephotos, bring a 70-200, then got 1 other prime, eg, 35mm. If you need wider, go wider with 24mm. you are not there to take WIDE panoramic, or group photos. The main phot can do the super wides anyway. Unless he said he wanted you to focus on specifically wides or something. Never bother with soft boxes, there is just no need. Use ISO and off camera flash as you need, as long as faces are in focus, a bit ISO makes no difference to the wedding couple that see the people in the photos. Just my 2 cents worth.

Thanks again for all your helpful info in your videos. I have 2 questions in regards to flash. The first is when you are shooting your flash (both on and off camera) do you modify the zoom at all or do you just leave it. And if you do leave it, are you setting it wide, middle or zoomed? Second question is ... If you were buying the GoDox V1 with transmitter, would you be buying the XPro transmitter or the X2T? Saw that you can manipulate your off camera flash with the X2T, can you do the same with the XPro. Ill never be shooting with more than 2 flashes probably ever. Thanks again for your help and its amazing that you actually reply to some of these comments. If you ever have a shoot in or around Halifax NS id totally be down to be a free second or third or forth camera!

One thing to note about Godox and the way they function with Nikon at least: If you use the Godox XPro trigger branded for Nikon on a Nikon, you'll get a warmer color tone than there actually is. If you use the Sony or Canon branded trigger, or stack your Nikon trigger onto a "dumb" trigger, the colors will be accurate. You lose your TTL, and need to shoot manual. Something to be aware of that will effect your post processing.

Thanks for a great tutorial. Do you have to have a dedicated trigger? Is it possible to use on camera light as a commander of the of camera lights? I'm new to this and trying to figure out what I need to buy. Is the trigger built into some on camera flashes, or is it recommended to get a trigger, with the option to use the on camera flash, off of the camera?

1 minute in to the video and already I can tell that this is gonna be different from what we do here in Sweden. I have never heard of anyone using a flash during the actual ceremony. We often tend to marry at a church so any type of extra lights are frowned upon. This creates all kinds of problems of course since its daylight mixed with LED's and old incandescent bulbs...yeah...it's nightmare!
