Dude as an aspiring photographer considering getting into weddings your videos are invaluable. I love that you mention being introverted because that's the biggest thing holding me back. I am afraid of getting in the middle of things with people I've never met before but your videos give me encouragement! Keep on making those sweet videos!

so cool that you emphasize that moment (around 11:00 ) after the ceremony for candids! That's always been my fave spot to be too, because you get the "real" first kiss between the bride and groom, the private one that's not for everyone to see. I love your stuff and wish you all the success you can handle!

Quick question: why shoot in crop mode vs. cropping as you need to in post? Totally get it if saving time in post is the goal there. You'd be recording the same image though, just with spare information, but you'd gain more flexibility in post. Rookie question I know.

On the topic of getting at least one candid shot of each guest, how do you keep track of whom you've already photographed? How do you avoid missing someone? Do you request a list of all the guests and then ask them after each shot, checking the name off, or are you able to keep track of all of them mentally? I've never had this requested (although to be fair, I've only ever shot 3 weddings) but I really like the idea, so I'd love some pointers. Great videos btw. I'm grabbing a lot of great tips off of these. :D

First off, Thank You Taylor for sharing your knowledge. You videos are indeed realistic. Many tutorials, I quesstion, because I never seem to have that much time at a wedding to do some some of the things they are doing on a typical wedding day. Second, I live in the South Georgia Bible belt. So typically I shoot inside church venues. It's however, always sweet though, when we have a outdoor assignment. Well speaking of which, I am off to shoot a outdoor wedding and it looks like it could rain?? Praying for the best! Thanks again and have a great day!!

This is so valuable. Thanks for sharing and your photos , how you frame them are sooooo beautiful.....but I’m wondering..why so heavy presets? Is it because that has been the most popular style in recent years or is there any other reason, like easier to hide imperfections?? Like grain, noise and focus issues??

Nice job, good commentary of what and why you are doing, 🙂 would recommend an external battery like the quantum turbo for your external flash. I do not think the SB 700 will take external. The 5000 will and some older. You do still have to keep a watch on the internal since they still power the computer portion of the flash. But yes, new batteries before each gig, or after shooting a lot of before . The Nikon flashes tend to lose power almost without warning, 🙂

Hah. I'll leave them in next time! Honestly, I'm pretty simple when it comes to them. I just make sure the sides are even, and no one is standing beside someone wearing colours that are strange together. Today was easy because it was overcast. True challenge comes when you get a huge group of 30 in the hot sun and only have one tree haha

Dude.. This looks interesting in comparison to polish weddings. We've got a lot more time-stretched events to capture during ceremony, commonly very low light in churches and all work day is about 12-14 hours. That's interesting how different things could be.

My two cents: He was definetly shooting in AI Servo. Most likely he was focusing on the center dot, or letting the camera focus on several dots at the same time. Even though he's shooting 2.8, at a certain distance lens is able to get everyone sharp
