Thank you knidly! Just dusted off the old fury warrior from classic after leveling the new shaman main. Planing to make the warrior a tank now that it's 70. I learned a whole lot and the crushcap was revolutionary info for me. I would love some insight to tank gear spesifically and when a warrior can stop wearing their T3 gear. Again, great video and really excited for more videos to come.

The set bonuses aren't all that. Revenge had it's threat-multiplier nerfed from 2.25x to 1.0x (but the flat threat was greatly increased), so the value of the two-piece is nowhere near as good as it was. The 8pc bonus was never good, and while the hit bonuses are nice, they are not something to pull your hair out over losing. Otherwise, just pick up pieces with high def and stam. You generally replace stuff fairly quickly in lvl 70 dungeons, and heroics, or kara. The last pieces i kept were the chest, boots and ring. Get crit immune and a solid ammount of stamina, and see if you can't sneak in some pieces with hit/expertise/agility without sacrificing too much survivability.

Is there a website or spreadsheet that ranks items for tanks similar to EPV but taking into account both mitigation and threat generation or having each value seperately?

Critique: Druids can powershift consumes just as well as a warrior or paladin can. Powershift is effectively instant assuming you're not on the GCD from a previous ability. If you're not on Fight Club or the Druid Classic discord, I recommend them both for more detail as far as the capabilities.

You can power shift to use potions, but you want to pay attention to the boss's swing timer and cds. My guild's bear has gotten gibbed because of bad timing and got an unlucky hit or stun or whatever in the split second you're in humanoid form. But this probably will be less of an issue with the removal of spell batching.

Druids have dodge but it doesn’t work with Defense rating?? If so never noticed.. Dodge/endurance trinkets are nice for Druids as well. Because you can use it and up dodge to help.
@athieshgaming26593 жыл бұрын
Druids get the most dodge per point of agility. Every 14.7 Agility = 1% dodge for druids. Warriors get 1% dodge for every 30 points of Agility whereas Paladins get 1% for every 25 points

Paladins usually come out better shielding a healer so that can just pour heals on. Bark skin should be used in combat if you know the boss well enough because thorns can help you hold that agro so it’s fine when needed. Your group should let you stabilize threat early
@Ragatokk3 жыл бұрын
Damn, actually a pretty good video on tanks for tbc. That said, druids gain the most from health stones and potions, as they get scaled up as they transform out of bear keeping their hp%, use the potion and go bear again keeping their new hp% (To use simple numbers: if you got 4k in normal form, and 6k in bear and the potion heals 1k... You are at 50% hp in bear 3k, transfer out of bear and are now at 50% in normal form 2k. You use health potion and are not at 75% in normal form 3k, then transform to bear becoming 75% in bear form 4.5k) In this example you pretty much have a 50% stronger health potion.

No IMO warrior stays the best tank, but he’s also the hardest tank to play and be really good at him. Simply because they mitigate the most damage and have the best defensive abilities to pop. Also they have the hardest time holding multiple mobs and some people never get past being able to hold 2 mobs and really good warriors can hold 4. But overall they are the best IMO. Paladins have the easiest time with multiple mobs but at the same time they usually have the lowest hp. So it’s a trade out.

I’m a druid tank at the moment. While I really like the flexibility of the druid, I kind of want to play some warrior tank as well. However, I feel like starting to play a Warrior now would leave me behind in terms of content and progression since P2 came out.

As far as i know u need to get 491 defense rating as a warrior to get critimmun, as well as u need 504 def rating as druid tank (with 3%) talent or about 103 resilence. Those numbers u got there in defenserating for feral is hell of false. Would be a shame if someone would stick to those 415 def rating
@athieshgaming26593 жыл бұрын
I only mention the defense skill though I might have mispoken. I think you are referring to defense rating in which case yes. You would be way under if you only have 415 rating.
@noway13 жыл бұрын
In this day and age, reading off tooltips is completely misleading. If you don't have sim data, you are just another kid reading stuff on the internet. Pallies OOM, Druids are manasponges to keep healed and warriors are bad at big aoe pulls (which don't occur in raids without multiple tanks present and CC). I am sure that plenty of guilds will take all three, but that doesn't change the fact that there are consequences and significant opportunity costs when using classes other than warriors are tanks.
@ericfenstermacher59253 жыл бұрын
The way it's looking now, in about T5, warriors will be threatcapped unless fury/de tanking is viable again (it won't be except maybe for speed clear farm content with healers who outgear the content). Guardian Druids will be the new kings on the block of mitigation and threat. The issue is that if you do have a prot warrior he has to be MT because prot war as OT is a wet fucking noodle damage wise and a Guardian druid can still do decent dps as OT. But a time will come when prot warrior threat isn't enough to hold off the updated dps that people can do with more information and you'll see groups either waiting for sunders/giving their tank some time, or switching to druid.
