By 2005 a fifth Faction had arrived for Warmachine, the Mercenaries and as second rulebook called Escalation promised a whole new wave of models after 13 to add to our forces. It also unleashed the HORDES, a set of new factions mirroring the playstyles of the original but with a whole new mechanic of Fury to manage.

i was a big fan of this game when it came out. i got into it back in high school in '06 and played it for quite a few years. i ultimately got pretty dissapointed with a lot of the gameplay practices that became commonplace. things like proxy bases, flat terrain, chess clocks, big soccerfield style colored scoring zones that looked gaudy. it was nice seeing a batrep without any of that nonsense, great batrep, and i like the little history retrospective about the games state at the end, definitely takes me back

Sweet sweet nostalgia, great battle report, loved seeing classic models in action. Since I heard about MKIV I've been getting as many of the MKII and MKIII battlegroups. I have a massive sweet spot for the older versions of Warmachine/Hordes, so love these videos.

I just ordered the Circle vs Legion two player starter set. It has the extra units for both sides. It's my first venture into this game. Is there an app or something out there for list building that you'd recommend???

MCP was originally designed by PP, yes. But developed and released by AMG, started by former PP staffers. But I mean, the list of WMH-inspired games designed by others is long. Malifaux, Bushido, Guild Ball to name just three.

thank you for sing real 3D terrain that looks awesome. Too often its just layers of flat neoprene and its very unappealing. Whats the point in playing a miniatures game if you're going to take out half the minis?
