It really is amazing how we can create such things back then,but now we all use electronics and more,we need more classical music! Like beetoven,Mozart,Tchaikovsky and more,as I play piano and violin a bit and getting way i practice beetoven Mozart and Tchaikovsky. It is amazing to see what we created back then it calms us down but it also scares us sometimes,because of how it sounds..it sounds creepy and pretty.

I would say my big three are Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, and Wagner. But who am I to rebuke Mozart? He definitely had some shit too, just most of it a little too light and pretty for my taste compared to these three "serious" composers.

After listening to Mozart for a while I do not think I have a liking to it. So in Conclusion my big two consists of: Beethoven and Tchaikovsky.

This is missing the Pas De Six music so is not complete this however may be due to the fact that some Ballet companies don't include it or change it as is the case in this version. Ansermet really had a way when conducting this music as you can feel the passion and dramatics that Tchaikovsky was trying to convey. There is a more complete version of this ballet music played by the Boston Symphony Orchestra, nevertheless this version is very good. Thank you for the up load.

The most complete I know is by Rozhdestvensky, a wonderful recording. It's so unfortunate that waltz of six princesses is so rarely played as well as the beautiful, sad solo of Siegfried in the first act.

There is a passage in Wagner's opera Siegfried that also sounds just like jazz. They were very advanced, musically speaking.

I'd like to hear that example you've given in Siegfried, but not being familiar with the opera myself, it's probably impossible to pinpoint.

@@Dan474834 Now that I've seen and listened to that, I'm wondering if that was written note for note into the score or if it was simply written as notation to the orchestra to "make (or improvise) a horn call" on whatever thing it was that the character was supposed to be playing, and you know with that production looking sort of mid to late 20th century, sounds like they used a saxophone and indeed made it sound jazzy. But I could be wrong, one would have to look at the score and see if Wagner went to the trouble to indicate actual notes for that horn call aside.

To Mach1 GTX...not ALL human minds are "powerful and creative." Studies show that at most 1% and as little as 1/4 of 1% of the human race has a high IQ. Therefore only 1 in over 4,000 that hear this great music has the capabilities to create something like it. But I'm betting those numbers are way high if you're talking about the genius of P.I. Tchaikovsky! Indeed it is a very rare and precious benefit that we enjoy this magnificent music!

@Censored Censored I agree and disagree. TWO points: 1. Billions? Statistically speaking, in 1900, 25 years after Swan Lake was composed, according to the Hyde census there were 1,654 million people on the planet. We're soon approaching 7 billion. That's 4.23 times as many people. So there should be over 4 composers on the earth right now that equal the genius of Tchaikovsky. This brings me to point 2. How many living composers have you "explored" lately? Have the great music conservatories stopped teaching? My dear, I think you have a lot of work to do before your statement that Tchaikovsky's music is that "rare and precious." I love his music but to say it is the best, would not be true. There are so many that are "rare and precious" to me.
