I absolutely love this cake decoration. The color and all the details added. I can see it sitting on a table in the series Downton Abbey. Timeless beauty

Oh YES I LOVE Downton Abby so much! If you liked that you would like Emma. We watched it last night. So many amazing images in this movie including desserts and a very ornate decorated tiered cake.

Some of the words describing this cake on Facebook .. Dainty, Old School, Martha Stewart Approved, Cameo Cake, Classy, Vintage Tea Party, Wedgewood, Timeless, Magnificent, Lovely, Gorgeous and on and on. I think people like it LOL Do you ??? These cakes used to be so popular in the 80's That's when I first began with my first business called Lorelie's Luscious Cakes.

@Nettie Pearl Hi. So the Lambeth method is much more complex. It's over piping and very three dimensional. I call this Lambeth Light. REALLY light. You'll see what I mean if you search English over piping or the Lambeth Method. I found this article which gives alittle info on the history of it. www.confectionarychalet.com/history-of-english-overpiping-lambeth-method/

This was a 6 inch cake so most likely one batch which is equal to about 4 cups buttercream. Possibly a little more. I don't remember now. But I think thats about right.
