Never jack a Ferguson on the sump! They are only alloy and I myself have put a jack straight through a sump on a TED, you got lucky sir!

Hi there Tridbant Nice video, well explained. I'm binge watching loads of vids on TE20s at the moment as I'll be restoring my own soon.. So anyway i have one quick observation from what i saw you do. Its to do with the seal itself, when you showed the seal mounted in the cover it looked that maybe it was in backwards? Of course i dont know that particular type of lip seal and the video might be deceptive. Its just ive dealt with many lip seals on gearboxes, motors, shaft etc and the recess in the seal will always be to the inside or the side where the liquid is, often with a spring in the recess and it looked from what i saw that the recess was outside? I could be very wrong and I'm not saying this to criticize or have a moan, i'm genuinely interested. Because it occurred to me that maybe, as i have often done myself, is to put something back the way i found it. But perhaps if it was in wrong first day and thats why it leaked? I'd love to hear how you got on with it after? Cheers.

The seal is to stop stuff from outside coming in At first I thought it was the wrong way but the original went in that way and it was a dry area inside
