My child didn't want to get out of her pj's for school. My mother said I should "let her stay home this one time", I knew my child if I gave in this one time it would be a habit. I loaded her in the car pj's and all and sent her to school. I called the teacher and stated she didn't want to get dressed so she is still in her pj's, but going to school is non negotiable. I never had an issue of her getting dressed for school ever again.

Preschool teachers should also not be required to change diapers! Even if these teachers are parents themselves and did the same things (potty training, diaper changing) for their own kids or even other people’s kids whom they babysat, that’s utterly uncalled for to be required to do that type of thing on the job! Occasionally, potty trained schoolchildren in preschool-1st Grade have accidents during the school day if they can’t hold it at all until they reach the bathroom. But that’s a relative rarity. Parents requiring other people to toilet train their kids is abhorrent! No individual can potty train a whole class of students all at once! Parents themselves only have to toilet train one child at a time, unless they have twins or their offspring are very close in age. So how they expect a teacher to do that for dozens of kids is not living in reality in the slightest!

The pajama think is straight out of the "Love and Logic" parenting book. It's what CPS and the schools teach to parents in Idaho. It's great when the school is onboard with the way your parenting! Love it when they're getting a consistent message. BUT THAT BOOK DOES NOT EXPECT THE TEACHER TO DRESS THE CHILD! Contrary to idiot assumption. The book expects the other kids to act like kids and peer pressure will make them go get dressed. The parent is being loving and supportive by providing the means to fix the mistake, when the child realizes it.
