Gotta love brians coaching process. You see the real time errors when people mess up. Thats priceless. Good to see what is correct and whats not so good and Brian always tells you why

Bro this was as real as it gets. This is the beauty of KZbin it feels like I’m in an actual class with the guy making mistakes. But it’s good to watch him make mistakes because In a real situation you’re not going to do it perfect the first time. So it’s good to see his mistakes to know what not to do and make corrections. Loved the video

I just did this with a guy in my gym earlier...I was saying how sometimes you can get guillotined going for double leg. I didn't have the technical details like yours but I was just saying as long as I make sure one don't land in guard and in side control you don't run the change of getting choked out....I'll donate to your channel very soon. Thanks for all your videos. I was able to do the closed guard attack to getting the back and even flower sweep.

@@TeachMeGrappling Hey nan total beginner so these are just questions seriously not suggestions. would like your thoughts if i have any validity in them or not. Question one..on your partners guillotine his right fist is outside of his left wrist as his left hand clenches because his left hand is clenching downward...see how his knuckles are facing down on the bottom of his right wrist..in my mind when your choking someone out wouldn't you want your right fist to be on the INSIDE of your left wrist as your left hand clenches UPWARD with your knuckles facing upward on the top of your right wrist...valid or no?second question...after you do your cartweel and have activated your hips...when you turn back over to side control i notice your neck goes turns from facing upward then to downward once in side control....what if he's squeezing your neck so tight it cant slide?? Hope you get this

Man... that detail at 10 min is huge. I was trying to cartwheel out of guillotines just on instinct but if you do it wrong your legs could get tangled with the other guy's legs mid air if he kicks them up. Then gravity brings you to the closed guard and you have to tap.

At the beginning of the video, I panicked because I cannot do a cartwheel. But by the end, I realized that I have actually done the drill you showed at around 9:40 in class. I think I just got to build up from there.

Wrestlers train cartwheels and jumping to other side every single day. I don't know why it hasn't caught on in submission grappling? Too much jiujitsu influenced warm-up baggage perhaps?

does this change at all if you penetrate with your knee to the mat on the double leg shot? It seems like you would be in a much less ideal position to cartwheel, and much closer to the guy being able to get to closed guard.
@TeachMeGrappling4 жыл бұрын
yes if you shoot to a knee you can still react with a cartwheel but you will be slower.
