... and, this applies to other teachers ... of any type, parents, family, culture, media (news from any source), science, etc ... we need to question and examine ... the information and the source of information ... One of the reason's I love Teal is she is careful to present her truths as such ... and that she does make videos such as this. I keep watching her videos even though I have a lot of doubt about certain things that are truths of hers ... that, I, have still yet to fully accept ... She speaks with much wisdom and clarity about so many things I have already owned ... so I keep coming back .... I Love your response to the her video Thank You.

I've been thinking about this recently. Hearing alsorts of different concepts and if I can't feel it as my truth then I don't accept it as my truth. I do give things a chance as I don't know everything of course and it helps to hear so many different perspectives to create your own truth 🙌 I see so many just accept anything people say and to me that is scary! What I've learned to do and become aware of is to really listen and take note of my own emotional guidance system i.e. my own body and the feelings and sensations I get whenever trying to digest any complex spiritual teachings and concepts. That way, I can ask myself via my intuition whether this is part of my own truth or not. I trust myself to figure it out via my own awareness (which I'm, still developing and working on by the way). Everyone is at different stages of awareness (vibrationally speaking) so what might not "resonate" now may further down the line make sense and be relevant to you. I love when you said to be "open-minded" about everything because that way, you have the best chance of analysing things objectively. This is something that I have immersed myself into and practised more recently via the channels that I am subscribing to and the people I listen to/follow. I think this can be quite a healthy approach if one isn't "attached" or "obsessive" to any one particular teacher or concept/teaching. What a great video Teal! Now the question I have is whether I should or shouldn't accept this as part of my own truth? ;P

Don't believe anyone but check everything to see if it's true or false. If you want to know if your belief's are aligned in thruth start simple. Think of a few very important words and then look up the meanings in a 1828 Noah Webster's dictionary, Oxford dictionary and Latin dictionary. If you can't think of any try these words person, sophisticated, prestigious, license, Religion and nickname. You will find out what you thought these words ment to be true is the complete opposite of your belief's. Good luck and don't procrastinate.

Every time I watch one of Teal’s videos, I literally have to pause and capture every word she says because so much wisdom or important information is in EACH SENTENCE. Great video as always Teal. I think it's fair to say also that what we call our beliefs, are actually ideas that were put into our heads by parents, relatives and teachers, before we were capable of 'thinking' ourselves. There have been things I've said for decades, before catching myself and realising that it is something I essentially learnt parrot fashion from a parent. This can shape somebody's religious views, racial views, and even something as trivial as what football team you support. Videos like this and others you have done are our best chance to form our own ideas and beliefs :-)

Well said, Teal - another salient video for our present zeitgeist! I like the distinction made between mentally grasping a concept and owning it viscerally. Instead of wholesale rejecting or swallowing a new concept, take time to try it on for size, like clothing. This reminds me of a good philosophy professor I had in college - he intentionally took no side, and continuously considered then questioned every idea - man, those discussion groups were hella fun! One problem with trying on every concept for size is.. it can quickly feel overwhelming. I think rejecting/swallowing is a symptom of laziness or just lack of time and energy needed to truly wrestle with it.
@BigManTate73644 жыл бұрын
This sums up my main philosophy on life. For most of my life I've questioned what I was told and what others accepted as truth and I want to have everyone question everything. That is the only way to expand our awareness and bring a new experience of life. That said, I notice every day new things that I am blindly accepting, especially in the spiritual/ self-development worlds, and how much of a parrot I am of the concepts they teach. Everyday I have to sit with myself and notice the ideas I've absorbed and question their validity in my own experience. This always brings me back to my personal truth and life is much richer from this place. Thanks for making this video Teal :)

Teal never cease to amaze me! I can literally say, for the most part, I do 'try on' new concepts to see if it aligns with my truth. The more I gain knowledge of self, the better I am at ascribing and embodying concepts suitable for my journey and purpose. As always, I'm grateful my journey introduced me to Teal and her sage knowledge. Outside of the heart eyes moments I had every time Teal made a 'try on' comment, especially her gestures at 16:50, I was able to take away some jewels from this video. 3:18- I called that learned behavior. That's not always genetics or inherited ways. It's babies and kids watching what adults do and 'ACTING OUT' what is praised and accepted in that social group. 4:12-4:42 The codependent with high levels of shame,...It makes a LOT of sense. 8:20-8:35 The zero sum game, unsafe concept? Mind BLOWN! KA-POOM. 12:30 Whenever I'm in talks with others about heavy topics, especially religion and spirituality, I encourage them to READ FOR THEMSELVES. Don't accept EVERYTHING that comes across the pulpit as the 'unadulterated truth'. Read to UNDERSTAND; not to RECITE or REGURGITATE. You'll see, especially in Christianity, that the Scriptures are more LIBERATING and less RESTRICTING than what Christian leaders make them out to be.(wink) Do your own research. Stop believing you're going to hell because you questioned the 'man of God' or the 'woman of God'. That belief right there proves your ignorance of how the ways and practices of your specific faith and its sacred texts functions. Because of that, application never happens because true acceptance and/or embodiment hasn't happened. Question because you want CLARITY; not because you want to bring HUMILIATION. Finally, 20:45 shows how Teal continues to close her videos with direct, straight forward, tough love statements that reflects the universal truths of each subject matter, complimenting the consciousness that made her.

Thank You Teal for such excellent and well presented messages. These truths you speak of here have been my truths for many years ... you speak them so well. and as a counselor one of the first things I would say to my clients was ... I am not here to tell you what is wrong with you or what to do or how to fix it ... I am here to help you consider what might be going on that is causing you concern and to help you consider various options or approaches that may be used to resolve your conflicts and to cheer you on as you actually make effort toward discovering if the method you choose is working for you ... and to help you from feeling discouraged if you discover you may need a different method. In total I am here to help you figure out for yourself what it is you truly want and what you truly do not want. And what you need to do to obtain what you want and remove what you don't want (as long as that, action, is realistic for you).

I had a realization the other day. Everything I've learned. Everything I know about what I thought reality was was someone else's truth about reality. The language I speak, the labels I put on everything I perceive, my opinion of right and wrong, everything I think. My whole life my whole reality has been someone else's truth. I've come to the realization that the only way to find truth is to shut out everyone else's truth so that I can hear my own.

This video is incredibly helpful for me!!! I am a deep thinker and I do believe I have a lot of integrity- I never betray myself and my strictest rule for myself is kindness. In Vedic astrology Saturn which represents boundaries and restrictions, states that the only rule we ever have to follow here on Earth is love... an interesting thing to contemplate. The thing is, sometimes when I'm faced with people who seem more powerful and dominating me (and it is very easy for people to SEEM that way since even though I'm a smart cookie, I'm shy and within myself) I succumb to their truths even when I know better than that and am MUCH smarter than that... I actually get afraid of being that person who is in denial, or being hurtful and uncooperative. Because of this I get manipulated and confused by people a lot, people who are very obvious characters and I see through anyway- and I'm also a very slow and feelsy person (though I am fun too) so it all goes so quickly and once I trust them even just the littlest bit, before I know it things have gone so quickly I didn't even get time to process the truths they're feeding to me, then coming out the otherside of the rabbit hole I realised I've been manipulated, used and completely taken advantage of by them and I'm there wondering 'how did this happen?? I knew who this person was all along and I knew the truth all along'. I also mingle with the psychic community and all that having gifts myself, but a lot of those people are very... unsavoury characters. You get a lot of the kinda people who claim their truth is the only truth and hiding behind a front of superiority to convey that, and I often fall prey to that not because I'm stupid- like I said, I know better than this, I truly do- it's just I'm afraid to be that person in denial and having missed out on an important piece of info because of it, or afraid of coming off mean and dismissive, afraid of coming off as someone who doesn't understand when I truly do. I don't want to be someone who doesn't listen, like my parents who didn't and still don't listen to me. I never want to make anyone feel cold or ignored inside, but I guess that 'conflict' that arises when you maintain that glowing inner code of owning the truths you hold is something that is a part of life... life and personal relationships can't be wonderland forever and 24/7, a good relationship does hold an honest depiction of our inner emotional ups and downs.

I’ve been suffering from indecisiveness from listening to TOO MANY self help gurus of different ideas and they all seem to contradict each other as with most self help... Well I always felt this resistance inside with certain teachers and I got into a bad habit for a few years of listening to some and just pushing through my resistance thinking it’ll be fine if I just ignore it... but damn, it only intensified! Now I realized through this video that it’s better to deal with the resistance HEAD ON until it’s resolved instead of constantly pushing through what FEELS WRONG because the information “seems” right. For a LONG time I’ve been trying to find a video that talks about this but I could never figure out WHAT EXACTLY my problem was you know?!?? Like how do you LABEL this problem?!?? I love watching Teal Swan's videos, I do not think I have a lot of solid truths, however. Whenever I speak with people about a topic, a part of me disagrees on their perspective, another part of me agrees. I actually like that it's not set in stone for me. I think. Watching Teal Swan has only brought relief to my life, it has only made me softer, happier, more empathic.. I feel closer to humanity, to everything. I've accepted that emotion is my compass, I've accepted that I have a higher self, I've accepted the law of mirroring, vibrations, the theory that we were all one and then fragmented, the theory that we can integrate our fragmented selves.. although I do not know if it IS true - but I don't know what else to do - it brings me great relief to apply her wisdom and tecniques. I feel like it's true. I don't know if I take it in as my truth, just because I feel like it's true? I am not spiritually enlightened, but the things Teal Swan teach makes sense to me.

It's no different to me than growing up Christian and being forced to parrot the words that would buy me salvation. I'd rather be honest with myself and others than be acceptable because my personal truth as it stands can be grown and informed without loss of itself, whereas a narrow schema of acceptability can only be dictated or threatened.

I retain spiritual beliefs, however, that I characterize as "esoteric spirituality," which current beliefs are fairly close to what you apparently embody, along with Neale Donald Walsch, and such. It was amazing upon leaving all forms of Mormonism how much I then realized that I didn't know. Your comment here about the little Mormon toddler bearing (parroting) his "testimony" really resonates with me. I would gag at witnessing the monthly repetition of that spiritual abuse even when I was still a member. It has been an adjustment to get used to not having that "know it all" emotional anchor that all the different shades of Mormonism offer to their adherents. Here is my observation: In this video, you seem more edgy and emotional than in others. It seems that perhaps some triggering event you may have experienced perhaps set you off, almost as if something hurt you perhaps recently to prompt you to choose this subject matter, and present the subject with a very powerful emotional drive. For me, the verve with which you delivered the subject is considerably more than the usual. Perhaps it was a memory in the past which came suddenly to the surface--I know that happens to me. It was as if at times in the video I would feel your anger, or witness you on the verge of tears. But please forgive me if I have misread anything here (It wouldn't be the first time). Right or wrong in my observation, please receive my gratitude for your work. It has been both helpful and validating to me. It is scary leaving your life-long belief system. But I've never felt freer, in spite of the inevitable pain and hassle that accompany such decisions. Cheers.

What's the opposite extreme of confluence? I feel like the more aware I become, the less I can relate to anyone intellectually. I still have relationships and value them as human beings, and I always respect their points of view enough to listen to them (and in fact I know that every single person out there has something to teach me), but in terms of being in agreement with others and having confluence without opposition, I feel like a freaking island.

Interested in hearing your take on Dr. Robin Diangelo's breakdown of "White Fragility". In particular, how it is a thriving and growing cancer in the so-called New Age/Spiritual Communities. Also how it relates to "White Truth".

It's fascinating what you start to see when you let go of the resistance reflex, some part of that reflex comes from the fear of losing ones identity when you accept ideas or concepts that exist far away from who you are, and when this is proven wrong, you can own ideas without losing who or what you are to them. It's not a conflict of identity, that's how it can feel. Like the teenager who only listens to one kind of music, and will have a mini identity crisis when they like songs from a radically different style.

I do enjoy your videos. I am resistant to your videos because I have a big well of intensity that has been invalidated my whole life. I am 35 and I feel like my life has been unlived. This video is comforting though I'm sorry for my moody comments on Instagram. I just feel so lost and invalidated. I feel compounded and I feel trapped in confusion

Well said Teal 😊 I'm still trying on a few concepts, and have found a little bit of truth in all of them. But none of them have the whole truth. So I'm kinda like a spiritual hippie Christian at the moment 😁 lol
