The joke about the sexual tension is because walter as a teenager and alucard as a girl infiltrated a concentration camp back in the 1940s. The joke is walter fell in love with alucards female form when he was a kid and never got anything out of it so he wants to kill him due to walter feeling scorned over not getting the love he wanted.

TFS is also hinting at Alucard just joking about that to piss off Walter. Walter asks "Why can't you take this seriously" and Alucard responds "Because that's what you want! And I'm not going to give it to you." Walter wanted a big serious battle where he could finally prove he could kill Alucard, but Alucard is still so livid about what Walter did to Anderson the last episode that he is spiting Walter by constantly making jokes and not taking the fight seriously. That said, there may be some truth to Walter having a schoolboy crush on Girlycard...

The reason the Captain (the werewolf guy) put up such a fight despite wanting to die is because, like the Major said, he wanted a glorious death. He wanted to be killed by a worthy opponent. He actually intentionally brought the fight to the vault just so Seras could get the silver to kill him. I would actually really like it if you guys reacted to the Major’s speech. Just look it up on KZbin. It pretty much clarifies his and his men’s ideology pretty well and is admittedly pretty epic villainous monologue. Also, I would highly recommend watch the show in the English dub. I know you prefer subs, but the dub version has some of the best voice acting I’ve ever heard and really lets you appreciate the epicness of what’s being said. PS: was really excited about this reaction and you two did not disappoint! :)

It is speculated that the Captain was never willingly in the service of Millennium, due to his behavior throughout the series. Most agree he could have easily killed Seras Victoria during their battle, but desired death, going so far as to give the younger vampire the tools to kill him. It's also possible he was holding back. They also point to his sparing of Heinkel as an act of rebellion against the Major, and his pointing the direction for Integra as another. He might have been a slave to the Major similar to how Alucard has a contract with Integra. That would quite easily explain why he never seemed too enthusiastic about their whole mission. The Captain was right in Alucard's face when he released his Zero seal and not only did he live, he didn't even take any damage. That says quite a bit about his power. Also, he could have avoided that death blow by turning into mist, which not only heals his wounds but makes him intangible. Also, in the manga he straight up gives Seras that piece of silver used to kill him. Had he REALLY wanted to kill her, he quite easily could have achieved this just going by what we have seen him accomplish in the past. The Captain intentionally handicapped himself just to get a good fight out of Seras. The Captain is Millennium's Trump Card to rival Alucard and, due to the fact that The Captain has displayed many powerful feats such as splitting Alucard in half with only a kick, effortlessly pummeling Seras in his human form, and catching Walter's monofilament wires which Alucard himself had no defense against, it is possible that The Captain is the most powerful character in the series in terms of raw strength, reflexes, and speed.

The Nazis want a warrior's death, to die fighting to their fullest against a more powerful enemy. The wolfman, and every other Nazi soldier, died fighting some of the most powerful people on the planet thus getting what they want. The cat person is the Schrodinger's Cat theory personified, always both everywhere and nowhere, so pretty much a god but without any power other than being ever present. Walter and Alucard fought the Nazis who at the time were trying to turn all their soldiers into vampires (the ones you see on the show are the very few who survived). Alucard disguised himself as a little girl so he and Walter could infiltrate camps unnoticed. Walter hated that he was never allowed to kill Alucard, a vampire hunter forced to work alongside the most powerful vampire in existence! He made a deal with the Major to become more powerful so that he may finally prove that he can kill Alucard once and for all, but the Major's treatment worked a little too well and instead of just reverting him back to his prime he was reverted back to a child.

This show has everything. Vampires, blood, gore, Nazis, Christians, London on fire, big B E W B S, big guns, explosions, werewolves, and honestly some of the best animation I've ever seen. If you want the definitive version, watch Hellsing Ultimate. It's closer to the manga, which is honestly a masterpiece.

The Captain (the Nazi werewolf) is such a badass and one of my favorite characters in Hellsing because we know nothing about his backstory, giving him a mysterious aura AND can he can go toe-to-toe with Alucard at full power. He could have easily killed Seras but didn't because that wasn't his goal. He wanted to die in battle so he held back against her. Evidence: He only attacks Seras to get her to the Nazi war loot room. Notice that he never attacks her when they are in the room. He's either dodging or countering but NOT attacking. He also gave her the means to kill him when she didn't have it at the start of the fight.

fun note about the werewolf guy, he MASSIVELY nerfed himself. in the original he was the one that gave her the silver tooth, and he turned off his near instant regeneration to give her a fighting chance. in most lore the wolf represents honor, and courage/battle lust. i thought it was pretty good writing to have the werewolf not be able to just lay down and die, he wanted to go out in a brutal deathmatch, and he got what he wanted.

The Captain (“Nazi” Werewolf Ghost) was wearing an Afrika Corps uniform, the Corps was in Rommel’s command, and was reported that they never committed any war crimes or any crimes against humanity. The Captain wanted to went out, but he outclassed Seras in almost everything. It was reported that he could kill Alucard, if he was the one who went against him. The Captain did held back, he even ditched his guns just so Seras can kill him. The Anime you were talking about is “Drifters”

Also, the "sexual tension" joke was set up because in the Abridged (idk for sure about the original Hellsing Ultimate) during I think episode 6 or 7, while Alucard were explaining where Millienia (the Nazi guys) came from. Long and short of it, Walter was 16, Alucard was a chick and lover to the Queen and they fought Nazis during WW2 in Operation Kraut Kontrol (a verbal pun Crowd Control but Kraut which was a slur against Germans similar to calling an Islamic Turkish person a Kebab. Deus Vult). So basically Jolly Wally was a hormonal teen stuck fighting Nazis alongside a Cockteasing Alucard.
