To be fair Cell likes to mock and condescend people with incredibly normal small talk that he slips in jabs during. I think he mostly views Frieza as entertainment so small talk about sequels that pisses off Frieza BECAUSE it's normal sounds like the exact kind of thing Cell would do. Worst case, Frieza has a normal conversation, which is odd and therefore entertaining. In every other case, Frieza gets several steps closer to a brain aneurysm that he can't even die from.

LittleKuriboh is a beast. He was supposed to voice Ginyu, but after TFS saw his take on Freeza , he landed the role of Lord F. instead. To be fair, King Cold is the reason everyone is in HFIL; Because of how he raised Freeza, that lead to the Sayian's getting extinguished, which leads to Goku being sent to Earth and begins Vegetea's multiple years of planning revenge. When Radditz came back around to fetch Goku, that kickstarted the rest of the events from time traveling Sayians, Cell, Buu; it all starts with King Cold.

In the '90s, I saw most of one arc (Namek) on Toonami, primarily because it was sandwiched between two shows I was more interested in. It put me off the franchise for 20 years. I had even heard of the Abridged parody, and avoided it too. It wasn't until 2018, when I was bouncing about KZbin to find something entertaining, that I finally gave it a whirl. I binged it so hard, I got caught up in time to join everyone else in waiting for episode 60. I love it, although am still not interested in the franchise outside of it. TFS made it work.

The world they're building with these supporting characters is genuinely great stuff, the fact that there's other HFILs makes me immediately wonder at the dynamics in those cul-de-sacs. I actually really like this episode, because it kind of delves into the father-son relationships that exist in the real world. Usually, if a dad is successful, hes going to have a lot of work, and even the slightest bit of chat with his son "has to wait." Its also got some relationships between siblings too, like the youngest (Cell) getting more attention than one of the oldest (Frieza). Edit: And now Frieza knows his brother's pain
