Tear it Down to Build it Back Up - Front Engine Dragster Disassembly
I made the executive decision to document as much as possible with my nostalgia front engine dragster project, if even if it is timelapse video. I still don't have a name for the project, but that doesn't stop me from starting to work on it. First thing first, I need to take it apart. Professor Jimmy and I have a lot of chassis modifications planned. But before I take it to his shop, this dragster needs to be taken apart.
To be honest, I really have no clue what I am doing. But I like to learn, and I like to just dive in and do it. My plan is to start taking this apart and learn how it all works as one. Wish me luck.... if I want this to be a nitromethane Hilborn injected small block Chevy fast slingshot dragster, I better get busy!
If you know me, you know I like old school automotive stuff. The vintage drag racing is truly my scene. My plan is to make this as retro cool and vintage as possible. I am going to keep the vintage Moon tank and replace anything modern with vintage parts. Oh... I have plans.... stay tuned my rowdy friends!

You got a killer rear end with that car! My first FED was built in 1962 and had a banjo-style Ford, and lasted almost 2 seasons. The second car was built in 1968, it had a 10 bolt Chevy rear when it came to me. It broke an axle very soon after completion. I had those cars from 1975-1979, what I remember the most was the tremendous amount of fun. Good luck!

now that is cool! this is my first FED, probably won't be my last! oh man, I got lucky with this rearend, it now has 4.30 gears, a spool, and all new bearings.

Not sure yet, we are going to be doing a lot of nostalgia racing. Small block with Hilborn injection and will run on Methanol with the occasional small dose of nitro.

I have a renforced 8 3/4 housing about right for one of them . 24 perch to perch . There not welded on yet . 41 backing to backing plate . With Axels make a smoking deal . Never going to use it .
