Looks like you stumbled upon one of my absolute favorite hype songs of all-time! On that same note, Yung Wun’s album “The Dirtiest Thirstiest” (which this track is from, released in ‘04) is criminally underrated. He’s not a skilled technical emcee nor much of a lyricist, but his ability to convey emotionality is honestly quite possibly beyond any other artist I’ve ever heard (the closest would probably be DMX & 2Pac, fwiw). The amount of just pure raw passion that he puts into every utterance really stands out on almost every track on the album. There’s one called Starvin & Robbin in particular that I would highly recommend - again, the lyrics are unremarkable and the entire premise of the song is nothing that hasn’t been done a million times before already, but his vocal performance is so powerful that I get chills listening to it (even still, 15 years later & having heard it a thousand times before).
