Let us not forget that they sunset *expansions* The dlc content you paid for was *gutted and removed* so people miss out on chunks of gameplay (and to a lesser extent story), which for a new player is an even worse form of fomo than just missing a cosmetic or two

I...wow this video just hit every spot it needed to hit. Being a Destiny player these days is literally like being in an abusive relationship, you get absolute shit trash for the seasons which drain your will to do anything else and kill your passion then just as you're about to leave, they give you this DLC like "Oh look! We're gonna change, promise!" Then BAM right back to the same season grind you've been doing for the past year and a half. But don't worry, because the devs are hard at work putting 99% of the studio's teams onto eververse items and crossover armour sets instead of actually adding new stuff to things like Trials, Iron Banner and so on.

It was legitimately hard for me to watch parts of this video, I knew Destiny 2 had problems just from the "sunsetting" nonsense I heard about, but this is just sickening. Pretty much every other one except warframe lol, destiny has some of the best seasonal content I've seen, they're actually worth it and give you plenty of rewards, and the eververse store is easy to ignore

Honestly, that bit is what pisses me off the most. You could have bought all these DLC's, some of them maybe you didn't finish because you took a break or something, and then Bungie just goes "they're no longer available, tough shit!" Plus all the effort, actors, artists, and talents into making them is essentially erased. That feels illegal if not borderline.

Got D2 when it came out, left mid-Osirus. 'Came back waaay later for nostalgia mid-season 14 and tried to get back into it... and I played for around 6 months, the last one being the first month of The Witch Queen. I stopped playing again because I spent that first Witch Queen month doing all the weekly stuff (mostly for the bright dust) and had just barely started the expansion missions and had done the season event once. I was a sucker for the cosmetics too but I was putting all my free time into it just to keep up with weekly stuff alone so I had to cut myself off for my own good. In the end: I do like Destiny, but it's a young mans game now and I don't have enough time for it these days :c

I am fully confident in saying that the players are at fault for endorsing these systems and buying into them. It's scummy to introduce them in the first place, but if players had the discipline(and common sense) to not buy into the obvious scams, Bungie execs would never have seen it as a profitable venture and wouldn't push it as hard today.

I ended up getting the Crown of sorrow jacket and that's not only my absolute favorite one, it's the best one I ever had. I got the deep stone crypt jacket for my girlfriend and the vow of the disciple jacket for her mom and I'm about to get the new raid jacket for her dad. Seriously though, the biggest problem with the eververse store is the fomo that comes with it. And it's absolutely notorious for completionists.

I enjoyed Destiny. Just solo PVE so I was hardly a core audience member. While I never had much, the Loot Reset of Destiny 2 was a interest killer for me. A man behind the curtain moment that made me ask what I was playing for. And why do it if they'd just wave a wand and remove my stuff. I've still played D2 for multiplayer deathmatches cause Bungie knows their stuff, but Its just a visit to an old playground.

You forgot that moment where they decided to take away the main story at the beginning and the other story expansions that they published at first. Sopposedly because they ´´needed more space for the other expansions´´ and whatnot Also, gotta love how even the mission stories in the events gets locked behind a paywall. You play just the first mission and at the end get just one of the weapons, and thats it. How about if they only make the story expansions and the premium season pass DLC, and just leave the seasonal story and events alone. If anyone wants to make a critisism DO NOT start with the ´´they need to make money´´ or ´´but its free to play´´ shit, Ive already heard it countless times in this types of issues about the game.

Honestly, the battle pass mechanic is arguably just as bad, if not worse than the lootbox system, it weaponized the feeling of missing out and if you accidentally missed a season? "Tough shit, kiss my arse and pay me" says Bungie as they permanently remove the rewards (including armor ornaments).

And the dungeons were the final BS monetization that had me quit. And didn't bungie at one time say the eververse would fund new dungeons??
