@tomcatsdb4755
@tomcatsdb4755 2 жыл бұрын
Did that w/ a dell optiplex. Many of the office PC proprietary PSUs don't have 6/8 pin PCIE power, so any card that can't be directly powered from the slot is a no go without changing it. The adapters are pretty cheap too.

I am getting a chance to exchange it with one month old gigabyte 6500xt eagle. I play mostly AAA games. No e-sports titles. Should I do it or not?? PC specs: Ryzen 3 2200g Gigabyte a320m s2h 2x8 gb 2400mhz corsair Thanks in advance.
@TechDweeb
@TechDweeb 2 жыл бұрын
With a 2200g you'll be running the 6500 xt with PCIe 3.0 bandwidth, so it won't perform as well. In most games you'll get a bit of a performance boost, in some games you'll take a performance hit. I'd stick with your 1650. HOWEVER, if you were planning on upgrading to a processor/platform that supported PCIe gen 4, then the 6500 xt would make sense because in that situation it'd perform significantly better than the 1650.

I'm using a 3770k slightly overclocked, that frequency does make it quite a bit faster than the vanilla 2600, but it's not a world of difference. Honestly, I would hold off the upgrade until I had enough for something ddr4. An i7 4790 is just not faster enough in my opinion

Great video I had been looking into doing a case swap but could never source the cables. Seen a couple videos on using bigger PSU's with some case modding and the adaptor cables meaning you're not stuck with the crappy propriatory PSU and opening the door so to speak to using bigger graphics cards there are also adaptors for those. Could you look at doing a case swap doing these things perhaps into a slightly bigger case.

@TechDweeb
@TechDweeb Жыл бұрын
Nice! I'm not sure about the M910 to be honest. I've never used that PC. Each of these PCs is different, if yours isn't a standard size motherboard (for example, mine was a standard matx size) then you'll have issues mounting the new motherboard in the case. The easiest way to know is to see if you can find videos or forums of other people doing a case swap with your exact pc.

I replied to your other comment but I'll reply here in case you don't see it. You can record using your CPU with that setup, but I personally would go for the 11400 non-f so that you could get encoding with the igpu and then you wouldn't be sacrificing anything. However, even with a 11400f, you can still use CPU encoding and as long as you are not CPU bottlenecked in the game you are playing then the performance will be just fine.

@@parthdhooper5812 Like @TechDweeb said, If you're going to do video editing / streaming stick w/ the non-f variants and use quicksync, it's usually around a $20 price difference. I'd also say to stick w/ 11 or 12 gen so you get PCIE 4.0 support (better performance on the 6500 that way). Also keep in mind GPU prices are falling, so look for deals there (6500xt was on sale for $175, and the 3050 at $250 both at newegg yesterday).

Still jealous about that case! I have better results in sottr and Witcher on a 3770k with an r9 380. With that great game sample of 2, I'm wondering if your oem 1050ti isn't really up to scratch, or if these games can actually really use 8 threads and there is plenty of performance on the table. You didn't want to upgrade the PSU because of the price, I guess? Fsr 2.0 came out for gow, are you considering a dedicated video? And, as always, love the video! And the shirt!
@TechDweeb
@TechDweeb 2 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't be surprised if you get better performance on that setup. The 3770k is a much better processor than the 4570. And your R9 380 is better than the 1050 ti. Also I suspect that these Lenovo motherboards are the lowest tier of performance (like, sub H81). Yeah I didn't want to spend more on a PSU when the one that came with it is still working fine. Also I kinda like the look if it in this build, with that honeycomb vent on the front. Thanks for letting me know about FSR 2.0 in GoW! Yeah I should definitely do a video on that.
@youzernejm
@youzernejm 2 жыл бұрын
@@TechDweeb in theory r9 380 and a 1050 ti "should" be roughly the same, seen countless benchmarks to check that, but I don't actually own one to compare. I've always had the feeling 380 should be faster, and internet told me I'm wrong. Stupid internet

So, you want the fastest windows experience and good performance while doing blender and 3d modelling and gaming all day? And I'm assuming you want me to be reasonable, not like a $6000 PC. So, I'd suggest something similar to my personal PC that I use for art & design, gaming, and video production. You can find all the details and the entire build in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/m5LEfGeKlLKSrbM Here are the parts I used: Motherboard: MSI MPG X570 GAMING EDGE WIFI Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X RAM: G.SKILL Trident Z Neo 32gb 3600mhz Graphics Card: MSI Ventus GeForce RTX 3080 Power Supply: MSI MPG A750GF 750w 80 plus gold fully modular Cooler: MSI MAG CORELIQUID 280R AIO SSD: XPG GAMMIX S70 Blade (PCIe gen 4 NVME) Storage: Seagate barracuda 8tb Extras: EZDIY-FAB GPU anti-sag bracket, InWin Sirius Loop Addressable RGB Triple Fan Kit, White sleeved braided PSU extension cables Total price was approx $2300. Hope this helps!

@@TechDweeb i can get close to this but processor and gpu in market their cost are still very high about 2/3 higher than MSRP even though they said prices are coming down they only lifted on specific parts
