For anyone comparing these devices, here's how my experience goes: If you have an Apple device already, and are especially looking to expand on the productivity element from the tablet, you need to stick to the iPad. Not just because it is going to regulate the standard, but you will definitely miss out on the features that eco-system offers. So, buy the iPad if you: are looking at designing with the Apple pencil and are familiar with or going to use ProCreate are making an investment with this purchase and will not be back in the market for a new tablet soon. intend to use the tablet for presentations and want 0% risk have a clear purpose for the 'Sidecar' feature - if you don't use it despite buying the iPad, you are missing out! engage in a lot of official video-conferences and are prone to moving about and may accidentally go out of frame. are not expecting substantially higher results than the Mi Pad 5 from the in-built camera in general have a proclivity towards the Apple design and are happy with the software choices Apple makes for you. don't really care about features beyond a rigid list of activities you are certain the iPad is able to do; and that this list is unlikely to change in the near future. looking towards a reliable product that will receive Software support for a long period of time. are expecting the device to be used by responsible adults who are careful with the tablet are unaffected by hefty repair costs should the glass crack or the rear panel be dented have a need to use touch ID On the other hand, buy the Mi pad 5 if you: are looking at gaming on a plethora of titles that are on the Google PlayStore and perhaps not found elsewhere don't care much about the stock iOS cookie-cutter experience and think customization is the only way you'll truly be happy with the tablet you use. want the best quality of video and photo capture from a tablet - better video calls value video-quality from the Mi Pad camera than the AI that drives the face-tracking function iPad offers. want the most of the audio experience, higher audio quality, clarity and richness. are expecting rich colour depth, HDR quality video experience and will be spending more than 50% of your time on the tablet watching videos. don't like limitations imposed on you, as with the software you use (sideload APKs), rooting, Custom Firmware, overclocking, etc. are mostly going to use it as a fun device to watch movies on or consume audio-visual media are not expecting to pay an arm and a leg (comparatively) to fix a broken screen or a damaged back panel. are okay without a fingerprint scanner and is okay with FaceID, PIN or Pattern for security. I have been using the Mi Pad 5 and am only glad that I didn't spend more on the iPad. Once the retail-therapy stage of the device wears off, what remains is the user experience. While it is true for both devices, I find that I'm more at ease with the Mi pad 5 for the sheer look and feel of the content I watch in it. I also spend a lot of time reading books and illustrated designs (PDFs) and I often found myself amazed (almost chuffed) over how good the content looked. That display gets the accolades for a reason. At the end of the day, you as a user of the tablet spend most of your time looking at the glorious screen of the tablet; not the logo at the back.

I just ordered the Mi pad 5 with the keyboard and bt mouse yet it's still 3 times cheaper than the Ipad. The screen is nice that I thought it was Amoled. Speakers are loud and clear. I chose the Mi pad because of it's desktop mode which is amazing like Samsungs Dex. The ipad is premium but the price is way too much and for a fraction of the price the Mi pad is a great alternative. I wonder what Xiaomi can do if it creates a tab with an ipad price.🤔🤔🤔

Excellent comparison, I enjoyed watching👍🏼 I use the Pad 5 Pro version (Chinese market exclusive), and all the disadvantages you mentioned for the regular model do not exist there. More powerful processor, fingerprint sensor, faster RAM technology, 1 more camera sensor, 8 speakers, GPS sensor, Bluetooth 5.2 and WiFi 6, and charging at 67W. And I think the Pro model is more suitable for comparison with the Air, while the "non-Pro" model is suitable for comparison with the iPad 9th generation. It is a pity that Xiaomi did not launch the Pro model outside of China either.

In my country i pad air 4 cost $580 and Xiaomi pad 5 cost $ 330 and ipad 9th gen cost $390. Samsung flagship tablets all over $500. Around 300-400 $ the mi pad has better display and speaker so i went for it. Only con is it feels like an fake ipad.

Really, people overrate how big of a difference OLED panels make. Yes you're getting better contrast, but in case of color accuracy on a budget, IPS panels are just better. OLED panels are notoriously hard to make color accurate, especially on big screens

Great comparison. If you slow down the transition animation and scales in developer settings on the pad5 it'll scroll as well as the iPad. Apple have slow and consistent animations versus everyone else. If you flick a scrollable page on both devices at the same time with the same power the Xiaomi will end up further down the screen.....I'm not saying that's necessarily better though. Subbed

I got myself the Xiaomi tab 5 and I am loving it. Battery lasts for a long time. I've watched all my Korean shows from morning till 12am midnight and the battery is just down to 70 percent lol. First off, I absolutely love your videos ! Keep up the good work. I firmly believe in what you say about buying a tablet- first consider what you are going to use it for. While the latest, brightest, fastest and biggest ipad is undoubtedly nice, it really is overkill for most people. I bought myself a Samsung tab a7 10.4 a few months ago, to replace my aging, but still working, Tab 4 10.1 The a7 is agreat tablet for most tasks, and as Im not an artist, I dont miss the s-pen at all. I use a regular rubber tipped stylus pen, and it works fine for me. I also still use my Ipad 2, bought in 2012, as a dedicated e-reader (kindle and apple books still works fine) and as a portfolio viewer of my photos for potential customers. @@vicso6412 Here in South africa Xiaomi only recently started selling phones, but no tablets as yet so I cannot give an opinion on them. I have never had any lagging problems with any of my Android tablets thus far. My Samsung Tab 4 10.1 Inch tablet does not lag at all, and it is more than 5 years old. Once again, it all depends on what you use it for.

One thing to consider is that when the iPad runs out of software support the apps are no longer compatible and it basically becomes a paperweight, developers in iOS dont typically support older versions of iOS and the apps will slowly break compatibility. While the Android tablets dont update the OS so much, Android is much more modular, the browser will still update (on iOS it updates ONLY with the operative system) and the apps usually maintain compatibility with much much older versions than iOS because they count on manufacturers not supporting devices as much. I say this because I have an iPad 4 that in the last month has become a paperweight because youtube doesnt work anymore, I cant download HBO nor Disney+ and the browser is so old most pages dont load properly. If I had an android tablet maybe I could change the ROM and still use it or most apps still support 2013's version of Android which was Android 6, it cannot be the same for iOS. Yes most people wont bother past 8 years with a tablet but I like utilizing technology as much as possible, why would I need to increase "e-waste" when my iPad 4 still has an amazing screen and enough battery life to be used on my house? I'm mad I cannot watch HBO and Disney+ but at least Netflix works...

@@mistermastermind528 this video does a really good job already. In short, go for the ipad if you take notes, draw pictures, edit videos, use apple ecosystem, and require better software support. On the other hand, the pad 5 allows for better content consumption since the screen is more vibrant (almost AMOLED level minus the backlighting), better gaming experience, better content consumption because of the aspect ratio, and because it's Android you have more freedom to do whatever you want like emulation, open source apps... Hope this helps.

The scrolling issue in the pad 5 is not really a performance issue! Cause if u use edge or firefox on the pad 5 u will face no such issues! So I am guessing its a chrome compatibility issue!

I dont think so. Im still using my mi pad 1 from 2013 and its still great tbh, its fast and its battery is still good. Problem is ur right they did not support that one so much in updates but im a tinkerer and thus i easily downloaded android 9 on it and everything runs great, even have it set up with mouse and keyboard. Im not so sure i can use an ipad from 2013 as much as i do with my mi pad 1, and nowadays xiaomi are even better with support

I just ordered the Xiaomo pad 5, wanted a Samsung tab but i dont want to spend that much on a tablet, i mostly use for indie development (texture painting etc) probably will do the job.

I’m using iPad 8 and the only thing I hate about it so far is it’s battery depletes really fast whenever I stream content from OTT apps like Netflix and Prime. Looking to upgrade to iPad Air 4 but want to wait till the iPad Air 5 launches.

Yes but for the price nothing can beat the Mi Pad 5. Its half the price of the ipad air here in uae and it comes with a better screen, better speakers, better gaming performance, better battery life and plus the keyboard and stylus is cheaper. For my use, the mi pad 5 is more than enough and I was able to get the 256gb version with 6 gb ram for 1100 aed which is 300 dollars.

I owned Mipad 5 for a couple of weeks then suddenly swap it to ipad pro 10.5 2017 and I got it for only 300 dollars 256 gb. It works great! no lags even its an old chips plus the game run super smooth specially the sky children of the light that is kinda blurry on android device plus the writing experience is really good on ipad. It just to perfect for me the ipad os.

Mi Pad 5 costs half of Air 4. If you consider getting the pen and keyboard and extra storage then ipad 4 will cost 4 times more than the pad 5. Do the math before you decide. There's a pad 5 pro with SD 870 chip btw which in my opinion is a better deal. With all the accessories it will cost 3 times cheaper than the ipad air 4.

ipad air's 60hz screen is much smoother than mi pad's 120hz????? As an user of both products, ipad air's web browsing and pen experience is way worse than that of mi pad 5. On top of that, Mi pad can use total 6G + 2G of ram so it made whole experience much snappy and smoother. Ipad air should charge same or lower than mi pad but it is even far more expensive. Ridiculous.

I've done with ipad, I've been using ipad since ipad air 2 ipad pro 1 to ipad pro 2021(always upgrade every year) but when using ipad pro 2021 for a year my ipad have an touchscreen problem the things is i can't get original lcd screen and must satisfied with non original so after years using ipad i am moving on xiaomi pad 5 and the package is on the way now

Unfortunately, it's not a comparison: one is 300 euro cheaper than the other. Here in Italy a Xiaomi Pad 5 is 300 euro (128GB), and the iPad Air 4 600 euro. No comparison.
