It also makes sense when you think about the fact that sentient volatiles only have sentience when in the daylight, turning into zombies when night falls. The night hunter only comes out at night because that's when Kyle has lost sentience.

In the DL2 comics (the one you got for pre-ordering) there is a section which shows the night hunter attacking the protagonist who escaped hurran 5-10 years prior. This means he still lives on, however before the survivors escaped to "the city(villedor)" they attempted to blow him up though we never see a body meaning he could still be alive TLDR: Kyle crane may still be alive during DL2.

Only issue is that Dying Light 2 lore talks about the fall which had nothing to do with Kyle.If Kyle turned, that would mean he later got killed and the spread of the virus was stopped until the GRE's new variant escaped, but that goes against what the dev said so its all flawed.

It wasn't just him who spread it though from what I am guessing. There are a ton of labs in villador. I think the night hunter started kidnapping people in the middle of the night and turning them into volatiles. But what we dont know is if the night hunter could communicate with volatiles. And since crane evolved over the years his volatile hives probably mutated to an extent. Idk if the tyrant volatiles are because of Kyle Crane but if they are that would be cool.

I always thought of the "Night Hunter" as a type of mutated Volatile... I also found a theory online that suggested the reason why he mutated into the monstrosity that he is as the Night Hunter was because of his exposure to all of the different types of mutations of the THV... So, he pretty much has the ability to do whatever the other special infected can do (minus a few moves I think, like the bomber/suicider-zombie right)? The Night Hunter (Kyle Crane) has evolved/adopted the hunger of a Biter, the cunningness of a Viral, the strength of a Goon, the acidic spit of a Toad, the speed of a Bolter, the endurance of a Demolisher, the maneuverability of a Volatile, the brutality and fear-inducing presence of an Alpha Volatile, with the intelligence and quite literally *the mind* of The Mother (being forever connected to her consciousness and cursed to go through the same experience). Dying Light > Dying Light 2. The feeling of playing DL for the first was incredible. The music, atmosphere, getting chased for the first time, being out at night, everything. Love the game.

I always saw the "Be the Zombie" mode as Kyle fighting survivors that remind him of himself, hoping he eventually dies to them or a physiological battle between Kyle and the infection, the survivors representing Kyle (,why there's multiple) and the night hunter being the infection defending it's "Hive" and trying to fully take over Kyle.

Happy Birthday Ali! So I will say that while I always preferred the nuke ending, this ending does make more sense and makes the in-game world feel all the more tragic. Crane who is supposed to be the hero ultimately became the villain even if not intentionally, shows how bad human ignorance can impact the world. I theorized back when DL2 was reaching it's launch date that maybe there'll be a Kyle Crane easter egg in the form of him being a sentient volatile. Perhaps that is ultimately going to be the big finale to Aiden's story in a future DLC. He discovers a society of sentient volatiles with Crane as their leader kind of like planet of apes. Crane despite feeling guilt over destroying the world presenting this as humanity's next step in evolution and Aiden is presented with the choice of humanity as it is now or this society of sentient volatiles. Ultimately giving us this moral dilemma of what it would truly mean to ""Stay Human". You basically decide humanity's fate and through that decide whether you are saving humanity or dooming it. We don't really see what the world outside of villador truly is like, from the way they make it out to be it from character conversations as well as the intro it seems like the world for the most part is like a Mad Max/Fallout style wasteland where monsters and bandits alike roam. Perhaps through that Crane built up this society and is slowly trying to rebuild the world in the sentient volatile image. I mean if it's unknown what truly lies out in the wasteland there's a whole lot of possibilities. There could be an entire city of sentient volatiles that we have yet to uncover. Anyway that's just my thoughts on it, it would be cool to see a return of Crane especially in some big ultimate finale but only time will tell.

@@Ven0m.snak3 Honestly I feel like that could definitely open up a series of future DLC that lead up to a "The Following" style finale. I don't know what this DLC will be aside from the fact that it is a continuation of Aiden's journey after villador. Maybe it's a sort of intro to this where we hear about stories of sentient volatiles as kind of like a passive mention here and there that we'd most likely write off as just a fun easter egg but really setting up for future story. Maybe Aiden set out to uncover a cure as we did hear from both Veronica and Waltz that they were working on a cure and came close, and through this he begins to slowly uncover the sentient volatiles and their society, he finds out about Crane and how he has slowly built up a society trying to rebuild the world. I suppose only time will tell. Personally I feel like it's not gonna be anything too major, could just be me being cautious but we'll have to wait and see. Regardless I am excited for this DLC and interested in what it will be.

Happy birthday, Ali!! I have been watching your videos on dying light updates and news and thoroughly enjoying your videos. How would Kyle Crane be the one to spread the virus? The time skipped between what happened in harran and the release of the THV is far apart, so Crane couldn't have been slowly spreading the virus. My theory here is that Crane must have been captured by the GRE and had used his DNA to create the THV. And seeing how the virus can help the influence of the creation of more volatiles (without having to meet certain requirements to become one) and how Aiden is stronger than others while also teetering on becoming like an infected. I believe that the THV had to be from Kyle Crane, and I hope it is proven in the next story DLC.

I think it would of been great if Crane was in DL2 as a super final boss. He was still alive but the infection had developed inside him for decades, with him literally being one of the first ever people infected (on a worldly scale). He’d be ginormous and severely deformed making it an intense final battle, needing to combine all your skills and using them against Crane who used to be identical to you. They could of had a sentient moment where Crane begged to be killed so he could be at peace or not, either way it would of put closure on the first game and been the biggest boss fight in the series. Also would of been great to see how the infection progressed after such a long time in a single human.

First of all Happy Birthday 🎉🎂 Kyle is probably alive as a sentinent volatile and the night hunter mutations prove so. Waltz was doing something similar to Aiden and himself so a good story dlc would be a showdown between Kyle and Aiden as sentinent volatiles that would eventually to the Harran Virus to end. And in Dying Light 3 should be focused on yet another strain of the Harran Virus but restoring all of humanity around the world

I feel like Kyle is the night hunter as in every ones playthrough we encountered every zombie mutation who attacks Kyle kinda giving him some connection to there DNA thus making him mutate to the night hunter

I knew it was a fact, in dying light 2 there is an easter egg, apparently another Gazi's hideout, there are drawings, a manequin just like his mother but now with crane style, and in one wall there are a lot of pictures from crane with all the dlc outfits and in one of the pictures you can see the night hunter staring at the camera

Never understood how people could see it any differently! Not so sure i can get behind him becoming a night hunter though cause youre running around as kyle crane in the game so how could kyle crane as a night hunter be hunting Kyle crane as a human? Especially if he turned into a night hunter AFTER the events of the following while the night hunter is actively hunting you while youre in harran, looking at it from a realistic sense anyways! Either way ohhhh man I hope we see Kyle Crane in the next dlc in some kind of capacity!
