The fact that Nintendo is offering free repairs for joystick drift outside of the warrenty is awesome and is actually very surprising. My joystick started drifting pretty hard on my Xbox One controller and the answer from Microsoft was to just get a new $70 controller instead of just fixing it. I then tried to solder on my own joystick that I ordered, but found that the board was the worst designed board I've ever seen as the actual solder pads came up as I was desoldering

I can't say I've ever had an issue with a Sony controller... PS/2/3 and even a 4 for a little while. Never owned an XB so I can't comment on those. My NES, SNES, and N64 controllers barely work anymore though. And apparently only Dell mice are invincible in regards to PC peripherals.

@@K-Anator I heard the ps4 controller had a lot of problems on release, even though I dont play on console at all (Maybe they fixed it). The xbox-controller is what some fellow PC-gamers like to use, so its probably good. In terms of PC peripherals you have a lot of choices, some good, some bad.
