One thing I am starting to see is a lot of people entering this field do not have any street smarts. Most of the time I can spot some shady shit from a mile away and since growing and learning within this field, it has just enhanced it. Take your time people and learn the field with intent and not only for the money because the money will come if you are moving true in my humble opinion.

Just to get in the door of that company and then when an IT position posts you'll have a higher chance of getting it b/c you're an internal hire. I have a lot of opinions about this. I think Cyber Security is one of the fields that requires a decent amount of knowledge about various disciplines within tech. You need to know how things work and how they break in order to protect systems, environments, apps etc. These are skills and experiences that you build over time. I think organizations and industries need to do a better job at building people up to meet their needs. With that being said. I also don't think it's reasonable to believe that all you need to do is get 2-3 certs and you'll automatically get a job in cyber security and start making bank from the go. If I am running a hospital, I am not hiring the guy that was working in retail last week but took a CPR class over the weekend and now wants to be a nurse. It takes time. Study. Work on labs. Do it because you enjoy it, because you constantly need to be learning. If you don't enjoy it and are doing it for the money, you're going to be miserable and stressed out all the time.

I know this video is on the topic of getting into Cybersecurity making a bag quickly and being sold dreams by influencers, but the same thing is happening in the Project Management sector. Most people see that you hit 3 six figures in project management but fail to see that you have to start from the bottom to get there. You cannot just pivot into a career with no experience and think that you're going to get a big bag. It takes work, dedication, strategic planning and some experience, to get there.

Don't be afraid to leverage contract positions 5.If you're at a job for 6 months, you'll pick up additional skills and keep movng from there. 6. These people are simply trying to stifle people because of their own fears that the market will become over saturated. Valid argument but they realize they’ll have to compete with candidates that they probably can’t beat. The video from the content creator telling the truth about tech salary can be said about Salesforce. I work for SF and I see this everyday on LinkedIn, Reddit, youtube. You can literally search what salesforce certs pay the highest and find thousands of videos, subreddits, etc. People think they can get a cert and automatically walk into a 6+ figure salary. People sell courses on "how to pass exam and get a six figure SF job" It happens, but the real money comes from marketing yourself, networking, going to SF events like DreamForce, starting your own consultancy, etc.

I’m in his program and I’ll say this. While I’ve definitely learned a ton and met amazing people, it’s definitely not a “90 days then you get a job” kind of thing. Henry is absolutely correct. You need to be seasoned somewhat to get faster results but if you are not seasoned in this space, it’ll take considerable time to really make the career transition, about 9 months to a year. It’s best to go to free local cyber networking events to understand the unique tech needs in your local town. Google cyber chapters: ISSA “your city”, ISACA “your city”, CSA “your city”, OWASP “ your city, ISC2 “your city” etc. and link up and simply tell people you’re starting to want to learn more about the cyber space ie GRC, IS Auditing etc. Plenty of chapter leaders will point you directly where to find very valuable resources that are much much cheaper and affordable. It’s what turned things around for my learning, personally. Just wish I went down that route first…I would’ve saved thousands and thousands of dollars. Especially in this economy…it’s a much better move than paying for random “false promise” online programs.

I took Boyd's PCI program. I'm telling you now, save your money. That whole thing was just a very well devised scam in my opinion. I very quickly realized he was making his money off sales from getting ppl to sign up for this $15k program vs being the face of PCI as he tries to portray. Do you wanna know what you get for $15k?? Told to believe in yourself ("Authority Mindset") .. and industry information you can get off the PCI website for FREE. I can't speak for anyone else but it's definitely FUCK BOYD CLEWIS for me. Matter of fact, I remember one zoom call session where there was another classmate that was frustrated and looking for answers about something and one of boyd's associates (ON THE CALL) told him to "stop bitching" or "being a bitch" about it. That was when I REALLY detached from the program for real. I do not fuck with them and it's up if I ever run into his ass.

You get a good sallary there is no doubt, but that you will life like a higher class citizen is the question it can be possible but that's more if you have a lot of expericence or have a higher position, or certain companies. Only then there is a more realistic chanse to be actually rich with Cybersecurity. But in the first 5 years the chanses are way smaller most of the time. But there is a very good reason why the pay is high it isn't just watching to a monitoring waiting until there is something wrong. You have to make big projects and meetings with different peoples and companies with their intrests etc...
