I recently visited Budapest to try on some Omegas and Rolex's. The Rolex store was empty ! Not 1 watch I could try , I was stunned. 50 m away was the Omega store, I walked in and tried Seamasters, Aqua Terras and De vills and man, what a beautiful brand. The quality was incredible and ,surprise,I could actually buy one ! This is how you win costomers, I will buy an Omega as my first luxury purchase.

@cecaju95163 жыл бұрын
Listen to what he said about back orders being a result of success. He is actively pursuing what Rolex has achieved. Rolex and Omega manufacture roughly the same number of watches per year. The reason Omega dealer cases are full and Rolex cases are empty Is due to difference in demand.
@wengjai3 жыл бұрын
That’s a very ignorant command. It’s a supply and demand issue. It’s not easy to just ramp up production and who knows how long the demand will last. Regarding what many might consider a pedantic point: I am interested to note that the interviewee pronounces Omega as "oMEEga", with emphasis on the second syllable, just as I have for many decades. I assume he knows best! Yet most people pronounce it "Omega", with emphasis on the first syllable. Ah well, we cannot be right all the time :-) I am not usually interested in marketing related issues but this was an exception. The CEO was not only clear and credible but, just as importantly, a real gentleman. It struck me how such an intangible quality can really matter, even in marketing. Great job as usual. This type of interview provides goodwill for me toward Omega. I loved the very very thinly veiled Rolex fake shortage talk and it’s negative perception by enthusiasts. Us middle-aged people who have bought Rolex over spans of decades know it is scam. Maybe some younger people especially non-enthusiasts think the shortage is real. It is not. Every model was in the jeweler’s case with replacements in the safe in the early 2000’s. Cases were full even in the high consumption 80’s and 90’s. I was wearing a Rolex yesterday, but the brand has started to leave a bad taste for me. Sinn on my wrist today and eyeing an Omega. I haven’t owned an Omega in about 15 years.

Excellent interview with Mr. Aeschlimann, and Teddy asked the questions that most Omega collectors wanted to get answers. I have been wanting to buy a Silver Snoopy since it first came out to no avail. I double checked about the volume of the Speedmaster Snoopy edition and confirmed: "Essentially the latest-generation Speedmaster Moonwatch dressed up in Snoopy livery, the watch commemorates the Silver Snoopy award bestowed on Omega by NASA in 1970. And crucially, this is NOT a limited edition, unlike the two earlier Speedmaster Snoopy editions". I have tried to buy the Silver Snoopy at my local boutique, but Omega will not even take my deposit. If Raynald does read my comment, I would like to know how I can pre-order this watch directly from Omega?
@j456t7893 жыл бұрын
Maybe I'll add in a caveat that the CEO conveniently left out, its not limited, but you can only purchase one with spending history. And the more you spend you quicker you get it. Basically its rolex disguised as a snoopy
@twang963 жыл бұрын
I read in a news article related to the SF Omega botique that all orders are closed because Omega currently has 20,000 orders for the Snoopy already. They probably need to catch up a bit before taking on new orders. And once orders open up again, then it would go to those with spending history.
