I recently visited Budapest to try on some Omegas and Rolex's. The Rolex store was empty ! Not 1 watch I could try , I was stunned. 50 m away was the Omega store, I walked in and tried Seamasters, Aqua Terras and De vills and man, what a beautiful brand. The quality was incredible and ,surprise,I could actually buy one ! This is how you win costomers, I will buy an Omega as my first luxury purchase.

But the desire to get something which is hard to get is much higher than to go to a shop that has everything in stock. Thats why you went first to the Rolex shop. By the way, Rolex is boring and show off

I had an itch to scratch too. Still on list for Rolex I wanted, so got a Seamaster. Its an excellent watch. You wont be disappointed with the Omega. I am debating the Rolex purchase a bit now. Already thinking of another Omega instead of the Rolex, and was actually eying the World Timer the CEO is wearing.

You are acting like Teddy is some random dude from the internet talking about watches from his backyard. This channel will soon have more subscribers than Tgv. He is already getting more views so Tgv's subscriber count vs view count is fishy. But yea if you are Omega you want this interview.

@@radioclash84 And what's the excuse for Rolex? I think he's speaking more to the fact that Omega makes their executives accessible at all. I think it speaks to a different model, but it's also why I look to Omega more than Rolex when it comes to really understanding the company & having that knowledge help encourage future purchases (doesn't help that they make great watches).

For most humans this is not fair play and when you have the money in your account u have worked for it you expect to be treated well .... Rolex would still be valuable even without the rigged system .... Its definitely not "putting consumers first "

Listen to what he said about back orders being a result of success. He is actively pursuing what Rolex has achieved. Rolex and Omega manufacture roughly the same number of watches per year. The reason Omega dealer cases are full and Rolex cases are empty Is due to difference in demand.
@wengjai
@wengjai 3 жыл бұрын
That’s a very ignorant command. It’s a supply and demand issue. It’s not easy to just ramp up production and who knows how long the demand will last. Rolex has already given an official statement recently saying that they just can’t cope with the demand and if they do increase their production it means their quality will be compromised.

Regarding what many might consider a pedantic point: I am interested to note that the interviewee pronounces Omega as "oMEEga", with emphasis on the second syllable, just as I have for many decades. I assume he knows best! Yet most people pronounce it "Omega", with emphasis on the first syllable. Ah well, we cannot be right all the time :-) I am not usually interested in marketing related issues but this was an exception. The CEO was not only clear and credible but, just as importantly, a real gentleman. It struck me how such an intangible quality can really matter, even in marketing. Full marks to Teddy for asking such interesting questions.

Great job as usual. This type of interview provides goodwill for me toward Omega. I loved the very very thinly veiled Rolex fake shortage talk and it’s negative perception by enthusiasts. Us middle-aged people who have bought Rolex over spans of decades know it is scam. Maybe some younger people especially non-enthusiasts think the shortage is real. It is not. Every model was in the jeweler’s case with replacements in the safe in the early 2000’s. Cases were full even in the high consumption 80’s and 90’s. I was wearing a Rolex yesterday, but the brand has started to leave a bad taste for me. Sinn on my wrist today and eyeing an Omega. I haven’t owned an Omega in about 15 years.

Excellent interview with Mr. Aeschlimann, and Teddy asked the questions that most Omega collectors wanted to get answers. I have been wanting to buy a Silver Snoopy since it first came out to no avail. I double checked about the volume of the Speedmaster Snoopy edition and confirmed: "Essentially the latest-generation Speedmaster Moonwatch dressed up in Snoopy livery, the watch commemorates the Silver Snoopy award bestowed on Omega by NASA in 1970. And crucially, this is NOT a limited edition, unlike the two earlier Speedmaster Snoopy editions". I have tried to buy the Silver Snoopy at my local boutique, but Omega will not even take my deposit. If Raynald does read my comment, I would like to know how I can pre-order this watch directly from Omega?

Maybe I'll add in a caveat that the CEO conveniently left out, its not limited, but you can only purchase one with spending history. And the more you spend you quicker you get it. Basically its rolex disguised as a snoopy
@twang96

I read in a news article related to the SF Omega botique that all orders are closed because Omega currently has 20,000 orders for the Snoopy already. They probably need to catch up a bit before taking on new orders. And once orders open up again, then it would go to those with spending history.

Omega / Swatch group has always provided me with great watches and a great experience. As a Native San Franciscan it is nice to see Omega/Swatch Group make an investment in my City.

Congrats on the interview, this is the kind of content that I watch your channel for! Hearing the ceo’s views explains how omega is doing so well nowadays, at least here in Singapore. Btw, forgot to unbutton that jacket? 😅

What a fascinating interview. I’m glad you touched on the supply choke trend, it was interesting to get the Omega take on it all. It seems that they are very happy with their market positions. What an amazing get for a KZbin channel, but also great foresight and effort by you to execute such an important identity in the Watch community.

Just a shame he didn't really answer any of the questions, most of the time he just waffled on about Omega 's vision!

A great journey into the best watches exist, Omega. My 300 diver is 2 years, and still rocking. Sure, i want again a Omega. I’ve seen an interesting CK2505, and a Louis Brand Constellation that say, buy me.

Really great interview. Raynald said same what I was thinking from a long time and I am glad that Omega is going in a good "customer friendly" way. I want to collect watches, wearing it not waiting for years to get them. If I cannot buy them I will find different brand who will treat me with respect.

Thank you, Teddy, for featuring not only watches but also the people behind the companies. I appreciate that very much. Like the Railmaster too, but I'm afraid it's too small for my oversized (22cm) wrist. Like the AquaTerra 150 dresser and the X33 also very much, hope that next year one of them will come to me. This year I went for two Mühle...

I went from 0 luxury watches, to an Aqua Terra and a Planet Ocean within 12 months. While i checked out multiple other brands (Zenith, Cartier, Nomos) and tried to check out Tudor and Rolex, the Omega AD and Omega's pricing is just outstanding. And the next piece is due, and it looks like i really need a Speedmaster in my collection. :)

there are many other brands doing exactly that. we don't have to bring everything (particularly not Omega) down to the lowest common denominator. stop whining for not having a "cheaper" Omega. instead, work hard! earn the damn thing!

Teddy, another great interview, respectfully done both perspectives. I'm concerned that you may be paying too much attention to the KZbin demographics, as someone over 40 I do enjoy your intelligent approach. You have made mention of your largest viewership demos in more than 2 videos lately.
