My dad suffered a big stroke back in 2001, he had it in the morning i remember like if it was yesterday. My mum being a nurse in her early days knew exactly what was happening and made me call the ambulance straight away .. she saved his life, but was left with his left side of his body paralyzed. He eventually passed away in 2017. The impact on our lives was tremendous. My mother passed away the following year when my dad had the stroke in 2002, it was too much for her. Somehow i managed to pull through...

Why would you need pain receptors in the brain? It's logical for them to be in the peripheries/extremities of the human body as they are more likely to be in contact to stimuli. Plus it'd incredibly difficult to formulate analgesics to reach hypothetical pain receptors in the brain when you think about it

My grandfather had a healthy heart, in fact he had no other disease except hearing difficulty at the age of 82 and he was fit enough to walk 4 kms. Suddenly he suffered from a stroke and got hospitalized for the first time in his life, but that too to never return! I will pray that you and your family always remain healthy!

And he was a health fanatic so he voluntarily followed a diet - Next to 0 sugar, No oil/butter, he loved detox teas, would have health breakfast and if he ever felt like eating sweet, he used to love 99% dark chocolates. The only junk food he ate was a pizza that too once in a month and Cookies n Cream ice cream. But I am his polar opposite, I love eating Junk food

How do you PREVENT a stroke? 1. Reduce Stress 2. Reduce fatty foods that dump blood thickening fats into your bloodstream 3. Reduce Sodium (salt) intake. Sodium raises blood pressure. 4. Increase oxygen flow throughout your body by making sure you're breathing properly and no blood flow is cut off or reduced by anything. Good luck!

You can’t “PREVENT” a stroke (it has no cure), you can only lower the risk of getting a stroke. And you forgot one of the most vital aspects that can significantly lower the risk of cardiovascular disease, which is EXERCISE. A lack of exercise (remaining sedentary all day), alongside smoking and obesity, is one of the biggest risk factors when it comes to cardiovascular diseases When it comes to fats, unsaturated fats (lowers blood cholesterol levels) are actually good for you. Try to avoid saturated fats (which increases blood cholesterol levels -> increases buildup of plaque). Too much unhealthy fats can also lead to atherosclerosis, and interesting fact: about 90% of heart attacks are caused by atherosclerosis (disorder caused by buildup of plaque inside of artery walls). Sodium is also crucial for your body’s function. A lack of sodium causes sodium deficiency, so the best answer is to regulate the amount of sodium you consume. Not too much, not too little. Although breathing properly is important, it does not necessarily reduce the risks of a stroke. However, going outside for a walk does increase the concentration of blood in the body compared to breathing the air at home (another reason to exercise outside). When it comes to reducing the risks of cardiovascular disorders, exercise, a healthy diet and a healthy lifestyle are the most important factors. Our bodies are not built to sit in a chair all day, so get up and walk around and do some exercises. It not only reduces the risk of cardiovascular disorders, it also strengthens your heart muscles (heart wears out slower).

I had a stroke July 16th 2021. I knew what was happening and a colleague drove me to a medical centre where I was picked by an ambulance. I have the operation 3 hours after my world crumbled I spent a month in hospital and eventually had to stop working. It has been over 9 months and I am slowly getting back to some kind of normal. The depression is immense and can make you consider the unmentionable alternative. Be strong.

Amazing video guys. Only someone that has needed to recognize a stroke knows how important this is. My mom had a stroke last year and unfortunately it happened in the middle os the night so when we realized she wasn't right we didn't have the time to do anything. Probably because she started having it some ours before. Now shes doing fine but her right side still recovering from the stroke. Thank you for the videos you guys are doing. It's been 4 years now since my mom's stroke and shes doing really good buddy. She still has some sequels from it but she's leaving a good life and being much more greatfull about everything in her life. Hope your mom recovers well from this and that you find some peace of mind in knowing that strokes are a very common illness and doctors and helthcare workers are really used to dealing with it. My grand mom hd a stroke on 20 feb 2019, its been almst a year now. We took hr to hospital within an hour they referred to another hospital, operation was done, 1/3 of her skull was cut out... now she is half paralysed... but she can sit and talk a bit... she also had a huge bedsore due to negligence of hospital authority, it took 6 months to cure that sore.. the whole year was toughest time of my life , staying in hospital for 16 hrs daily, n watching her in pain.. i hope that no one go through this phase.

This really freaks me out. It’s currently three AM. Every single person in my family is asleep and no one would even know if I had a stroke right now. My mom was hospitalized after she got 1st stroke. She was able to move normally in a day. She received necessary treatment until she was discharged hospital in 13 days. Then less than 24 hours, she hit by stroke again... She is now suffering from hemiparesis. And doctor said that she will less likely to gain back the normal move. Speed is important when you see 1st sign of a stroke, at same time, recurrence rate is highest at first 2weeks from initial stroke.

Whats crazy is that when the doctors told us that she had to be shut down by the machine which means left to die, tears ran down her face, but still they wanted her to gone, because she was so young at the time, her organs could be donated and save someone else’s life, so they did so. Till this day I feel like there was more to that tear that went running down her face. Rip auntie I miss you :(

Back in 2012 my father got stroke and lost the control of his right part of his body and ability to speak. He never recovered it and eventually died this this year. When this stroke was happened weren't aware about this. I wish this video was before happening all of this. BTW, I really thank you for this kind of video. I think everyone should have have basic knowledge about this sort of things.

My grandma had a major stroke they didn't think she'd survive but now she's doing so well it's only been a month she talking, eating, her cognitive ability is still there however she does have weakness on one side still they said what probably saved her is our quick response+ her age. Since she's older her brain had space which allowed for the swelling it would've been worse if she was younger. It does feel slightly preventable tho .. I did bring up warning signs in the days prior that the doctors seemed to ignore ..

I had a hemorrhagic stroke as a result of a massive methamphetamine overdose. It started off with an instant headache in the right back area of my head that gradually got worse and worse over the next 5 minutes. The pain was very excruciating and was a very hot constant constricting pain. I started walking around in my room in complete shock mumbling cuss words without me even realizing I what I was doing. As I stood up I could barely walk on my left side and was unable to speak clearly. I had no idea I was having a stroke but the look on my friends face whom I was doing it with told me something was seriously wrong. I was very fortunate to live through that. My blood pressure was 172 over 115 when I checked out of curiosity with my omron machine. At the time I had no idea what danger I was in and never called for an ambulance.

My step father had two ischemic strokes back to back resulting from untreated AFIB caused by a severe car accident he was in a decade before that he almost died in. He never experienced any FAST symptoms, and even my mother who is a doctor was blindsided by the news that he had had a stroke two days prior. Needless to say- please be honest with your doctor about your symptoms, and please be honest with your family about your medical history. If my mother knew he had AFIB, she wouldn’t have allowed him to go without taking medicine like he was, and she would’ve taken him to the doctor every time he was sick. It’s not often that a stroke occurs without FAST symptoms, but if you feel the least bit sick, it never hurts to visit your doctor to get checked out and it never hurts to get routine exams. My step father suffers from permanent neurological damage- he has problems with his memory and he can’t see the right side of his vision (as in both eyes have missing right side vision but he can still see out of the left side of both his eyes). Please go to the doctor whenever you’re not feeling well
