Same here. In the commercial the first line "so walk away with me" sounds like it could be Bonnie Raitt. But when she hits the word "anything" in the line "I would do anything" she stops sounding like Bonnie Raitt. So I had to investigate. I'm relieved it's not Bonnie Raitt. Bonnie should cover this tune. She would do it better. Probably even a better slide solo.

@ELBlDu7 жыл бұрын
Kevin Wilson, First of all, its NOT a BASE guitar. You OBVIOUSLY have NO taste and dont know what you're talking about. Look at her rip on that guitar when she had her own band b/4 TTB Second, if you don't have something nice to say then don't say it. There are plenty of ppl on here that are totally into this very talented band to live thru your criticism. Bonnie Raitt is in her 70's now, kinda gettin up there, and she doesn't have a band with this much talent to back her up. Shes on her way out, and these guys are here to take over! And I say Please do! Why do you have the need to compare Susan to anybody? Yes, in some songs she sounds a little like her, but not really. IMHO I think Susan has a fabulous teacher/partner / husband and both of their bands merged together is absolutely dripping with talent. There is nothing like them live, NO COMPARISON out there to this much skill, precision, knowledge, comradery, and TALENT! THey are a team and show allot of respect for one another, which is kinda rare these days, and a great pleasure to watch, I didn't want it to end. These guys are headed to the TOP! (Already got a Kennedy Award at the White House) IDK if Bonnie has one of those
@DavidDeelLoco2 жыл бұрын
It absolutely amazes me, I mean it is incredibly stunning to my brain that the music from this incredible band is not what head lines venues for the youth, for the TV shows and award shows, for the radio stations playing hit music. I'm not just talking about this performance, but this as well as other music this band and others like them perform. Today is a time where there are hundreds upon hundreds of so-called "artists" doing the same thing as the next person. They really aren't artists but they as well as others call them that. Now Susan Tedeschi has a gift from God. A voice that goes into your mind body and soul, captivates you completely as she soothes you with a blanket of heaven. Derek Trucks plays the guitar making you believe he cut a deal with the devil, knowing he too has a gift from God. The entire band is filled with refined ARTISTS, and they are actually artists. But the radio and music venues are filled with the same thing every time, the same begat, the same unrecognized words, thev same auto tuning of voices and the same computer generated sounds of instruments. Nothing I can do about it. Long live The Tedeschi Trucks Band!!!!!

Gonna see them with my little brother in a couple weeks in Dayton. This will be my first concert in a long, long time. Really looking forward to it. Allman is talking about putting a solo band together complete with a brass section. Wondering if hearing these guys got him thinking in that direction.

I saw these guys live last spring, I gotta tell you they are even better live. Real Magic! I too am a child of the sixties but good music is timeless and spans generations. You are right buckfan1969, Bands like this do not come around very often.

Saw them about 3 weeks ago in Dayton with my little brother. They were terrific. Had Los Lobos with them, and they're always great. My first concert in probably 40 years except for a small one to see Leon Russell a couple years ago in Chicago. Well worth it!

Saw them play this in Ft Myers earlier this month. This entire band is Amazing! Running from a bitter taste Took a rest from all the chase Feeling something anchored on my soul Played the game by all the rules Learning lessons no one gets to choose Everywhere I turn, here I am So walk away with me I'll show you that [Chorus:] I would go anywhere, anytime I would do anything, anyway Anyhow Woke up feeling all adrift Pieced together what I missed Realized that you pushed me out to sea Followed from a lost place Dealing with the wreckage in my soul Everywhere I turn, there you are So walk away with me I'll show you that [Chorus:] I would go anywhere, anytime I would do anything, anyway Anyhow No one cares to loan a dime Sorry if it cost you time What'd you expect a desperate man to do? Cain and Abel lit the flame We can never go that way again Everywhere I turn, here we are So walk away with me I'll show you that [Chorus:] I would go anywhere, anytime I would do anything, anyway Anyhow

I never thought in my long life (almost 70) that I would live to see a band that resurrected the soul of the Dead... but here they are. I can't think of any higher praise than this.
@beachdog676 жыл бұрын
Frankly, Blaine, I find it impossible to compare them to ANY single band from "our time"-which was, indeed, a hell of an era musically. But I would not hesitate to put them on a bill at the Family Dog or Fillmore with any combination of groups we listened to and soared with back then. Their talent, dedication, and obvious love of the music puts them on the same level with anyone these old ears have heard. [Though it must be said that, live, Susan plays her guitar awful damned loud.]

I first got on the bus at Winterland October 1973. I've had only a few excitements like those 70's dead concerts. Chick Corea and Return To Forever, Herbie Hancock Headhunters tour..... I had dinner with Little Feat backstage before one of their shows and asked Paul Barrere who he was listening to. He told me to watch out for a then 12 year old kid named Derek Trucks. I first saw Derek in 1997 on his first solo release tour open for Zero at the Maritime Hall in S.F. I stood next to a small bald headed guy all night with my jaw dropped. A 17 year old kid busting out Cissy strut, Favorite things Coltrane style!!!! and his own stuff. I would glance at the young bald headed kid shake his head in disbelief like I was. When his opening set was over I went to introduce myself while Derek was rolling up cables. I have friends in common with his dad........ bla bla bla...... The bald kid walked up and introduced himself to Derek and asked Derek if he would be interested in being his opening act!!!!.... WHAT???? I couldnt believe this.... Who would follow this guy???? His name was Joe Satriani... LOL. I thought to myself that night exactly what you are saying. The soul of the Dead. The excitement was back for me. Music became alive again for me. I haven't missed a Derek show in the S.F. bay area since that night. I was lucky to see him at the Last day saloon. The Great American Music hall, The Fillmore, etc.... small venues and I knew it was a matter of time. That I wouldn't be able to see him in small intimate venues like that again. Derek Trucks band, Soul Stew, Eric Clapton and Tedeschi Trucks band. I never miss a show with Derek.
